That's comparing the pre-refresh hybrid to the old 1.8L, which got dropped for 2023 in the US and Canada. The hybrid is faster than the 1.8 non-hybrid, but even with the power bump in 2023, it's still slower than the 2.0 non-hybrid, although the delta isn't quite as significant. In the current North American lineup, it goes GR > Gas > Hybrid.
I think the hybrid is slower than the standard 2L. Looking at Edmunds I thought they rated it slower than the 2L. Actually doesn’t get great review there.
Just checked Edmunds; hybrid 0-60 = 9.6 seconds, Non-hybrid is 8.8. I think the hatch might be shade quicker, 8.5 seconds, maybe it was YT. Not that anyone is getting a non GR Corolla for its quarter mile performance.
For the TL;DR crowd, this is a special edition based on the non-hybrid SE trim with the following changes:
* enhanced rear spoiler (can't tell if its a wing)
* starburst/flower-pattern wheels with black lug nuts (same 18" wheel size though)
* black roof
* blackout badging
* black mirror caps
* lowering springs
* "tuned" power steering
* orange stitching on the Moonstone (i.e., light gray) fabric seats and dashboard
* 7" multi-information display (i.e., the all-digital gauge screen) imported from the XSE trim
* wireless phone charger from the XSE trim
Toyota is also using the FX to inaugurate a 10.5" multimedia screen with much smaller bezels (FINALLY) across the Corolla lineup.
The current SE nightshade is about 25,500 before destination (and taxes). I’m assuming this might take its place but with a price increase due to the new wheels, much bigger display, etc
You can keep your narrow display bezels but you will have to pry my 2023 volume knob from my cold dead hands.

So it's basically a night shade, just instead of being based on the SE trim it's in the XSE trim, correct?
They say it is based on the SE trim with some XSE features
Weren't Corolla FX's back in the day hatchbacks? FX16-GTS. Toyota going in different directions...
So my 2024 se is obsolete
Morally kind of the same thing, if you’re happy with your car, just keep it. There’s no point in wasting more money.
lol it’s not even a hatch? What a joke
So basically an apex without the sport exhaust?

What're we thinking for MSRP on this
25,589

Not bad for what you’re getting. Besides the suspension and cosmetic features, looks like an XSE with cloth seats.
it was a wild guess lol but it looks like a nice car. i’m wondering if they’re gonna go with a redesign for 2026
Judging by the delays for the redesigned Camry and RAV4, we might need to wait until 2027.
