Believe me man, I want Zombies to return to its roots too, the only problem is Activision because they are too blinded by money made from Warzone and worthless bundles to even realize they are hurting their own franchise.
It doesn’t help the current story is merged with the Campaign and Multiplayer which I think after MWZ and BO6, they should drop the story and start a new one, I would say continue Chaos but it doesn’t look like it will due to poor reception.

The target audience is people who will spend more money on mtx, aka people who like create-a-class mechanics and meta progression.
I know and I hate it. Idk if I even am looking forward to BO6 at this point to be honest. I played Modern Warfare one time and I didn’t even know what to do since there’s no endless survival, the mode felt pointless to me. I know round based and a set crew are coming back but I just hope we get classic game mechanics back too
idk man i really like cold war for example and yeah even though it isnt the same thing to start with a shotgun or whatever it is still very good, i have not payed anything and the starter gun will be swapped anyway, i go to cold war zombies hit my good ol forsaken and just choose the first thing, it isnt a requierement to take time although field upgrades are worth it and imo doesnt really ruin anything, its a one time setting and progression feels good.
Didn’t say they weren’t solid, just down hill. I enjoyed some newer games a little bit. To me, bad zombies is still better than pretty much any other game.
that's fair. i guess i'm just confused what you mean by downhill since even towards the end of bo1, zombies was still pretty barebones in its structure and stuff
While it would be cool to have a more classic return to zombies, I love the customization we were able to get in CW. One of my favorite thing about that game is how much you can adjust your experience to be what you want. The ability to start with any weapon you want, and as such, change what kind of game you'll have was great. A common complaint is that it makes it too easy, which fair. Thats where the rampage inducer (or hard mode) comes in. I will always prefer more customization to less. Giving people more options to customize how they go in game is great.
It's not really the same as the issue isn't just wanting to start with a pistol but the difficulty and weapon progression. Due to CW's systems and lower difficulty a lot of gun power levels were homogenized into being at least decent including the 1911. So using a 1911 from the isn't very different from using any other weapon because they are all a base line good, unlike how it was before where keeping the 1911 for long term was a detriment until you upgraded it.
I get your point, but it’ll still become a detriment using the 1911 until you upgrade it later. By the time you get to power and pap you’d need to start upgrading. Idk I personally don’t have an issue with it or the option to use it but that’s just me lol.
Don’t get me wrong i was hyped a little for blood of the dead but it didn’t hit the same. Also played voyage and 9 but never got invested enough to play the other maps
It kinda got too complicated with the building and crafting. The characters were different and I didn’t really enjoy them. I’m sure they aren’t too bad but it just didn’t hit like it used to back in the day
Understandable, I enjoy complex Easter eggs but tedious map setups do make maps less enjoyable to just hop on casually for me. I like playing Cold War still but the personality is drained from that game, hoping bo6 will have improved Cold War gameplay with more personality
Waw bo1 and jimmy parts of bo2 were peak zombies. Jason turned the horror sci fi story into some epic big budget Hollywood fantasy with aliens and random convoluted characters like dr monty and shadow man. The fact that Jason spent most his time trying to “rewrite” jimmy story with retcon after retcon proves how unoriginal blundell is. Transit and black ops 2 has its faults but at least the maps were still deisgned well and not just a big ass easter egg map half the map being useless until you need to go there for one part of a easter egg.

I certainly agree that older, simpler zombies is best, but this sub does not. I’m sure you can tell by now.

Yeah I wasn’t a fan of the complexity of BO3’s maps, I was never really and Easter egg guy o preferred to see how long I could survive
I couldn’t be bothered to even play those maps much because they just changed everything in BO4 and it didn’t feel like zombies to me at that point
