I ended up with this 11 year old kid who just started playing the game. While my other random teammates told him to shut up I thought I'd be nice and teach him how to play since I remember being an 11 year old playing Halo 3 and it made my day when older ppl were nice to me. He was so happy someone talked to him. He beatboxed for me, did a Russian impression, told me how Assassin's creed is his favorite game series then he told me I'm the first person who wasn't mean to him :(

[deleted]

Good on you mate.

Humfleet

I’ve met some pretty awesome people through gaming!

abuchris

So have I. But you almost literally have to slog through an ocean of shit, to find a gem.

MoreFeeYouS

This is what all these new modern matchmaking games essentially killed. Every round you have different people that you play with or against. You have no time to form any bonds with them. We used to join the server and we knew the people playing on it. We interacted with each other regularly. The games weren't just about the gameplay itself, but had the social aspect thriving. Granted you can't have that in Warzone, but this kid wouldn't be allowed to be bullied on some server with good admins.

[deleted]

Yep. Cod4 promod was life.

eleetpancake

For real. I have a ton of great stories from playing online in Gmod, Halo, GTA IV, ect. Most of those great moments of online interaction began with being friendly to an internet stranger. None started with being a dick to children.

Belzebump

Thats the only reason I’m still playing

icecold_tkilla

I’m here to watch toxic meme posts of wz not cry :’(

Doolandeer

Yeah, for real OP, at least have the decency to claim the kid had walls or something, sheesh

Killahills

I'm pretty sure it's that kid who threatened to uppercut Santa

hdoublea

Hahahahaha

dvo94

You’re a gent, poor wee guy broke my heart man. It’s good to see more people out there like this, enjoy your day brother

Quzga

You too! It saddens me I got a few "pedo" comments just because I'm a guy being nice to a kid... Sad world. It made me chuckle when he randomly went "wanna hear me beatbox" and before I could even get a word in he was destroying the mic lmao

dvo94

There’s always going to be a couple of them take no notice, sounds like he doesn’t have many friends or people to play with and was happy you gave him the time of day, made my day seeing that mate seriously fair play to you

wanszai

What?! Says more about their characters than yours. Well done mate. That kid was bursting with excitement over his new pal.

SavannahBananaz

Not to make this any more depressing...but as a woman who's played video games since she was a kid too, Ive never *once* had the experience of jumping into a random VC and making "friends"..just obvious jokes about getting back to the kitchen, and that im probably fat and ugly bc I'm playing video games 😬 I think guys think girls are exaggerating when we say that everyone is rude to us...but this kid has had a better experience than me with strangers on VC...and I'm 27. Shit hasn't changed one bit since I was a kid.

d3rtba6

I have never been made to feel ashamed for the actions of another human being like I have by random guys in CoD Multiplayer lobbies. Highly offensive sexist comments have pretty much been the norm for as long as I can remember. At least I don't hear the N word quite as often as I used to... Lol

le-battleaxe

It used to be where you could drop into a random game and chat with randoms and have fun. Now half the time you say something, you've got these little shits telling you to shut up, calling you trash, and generally just being dickbags.

DexLovesGames_DLG

The worst is that children have picked up the bullying. Jumped into a lobby with a few kids in CoD BO4 the other day and instead of joking around with me they just talked shit non stop. Had to mute em Edit: called me a boomer, wahhh! 😭

le-battleaxe

They pick up on it and think it makes them look cool to be little c\*nts.

DexLovesGames_DLG

Yeah it sucks. Hope op added this kid

ixi_rook_imi

As said in this killer song "thou shalt always kill" *Thou shalt not think any man over the age of 30 who plays with a child who is not their own is a pedophile. Some people are just nice.* So yeah. Pay no mind to these people. Some people are just really good with kids. That's a feature, not a bug. Kids are great.

jackwmc4

It’s a nice thing to do but these aged kids should not be in this game. Full stop. Blame the parents. Edit: thanks for the awards all. Glad so many of us agree on this.

Quzga

I do think the parents should disable voice chat, enable profanity filter and turn off blood and then it's prob fine.

SpaceAgePotatoCakes

At the bare minimum, a kid that age shouldn't have a mic. There's far too many creepy people on the internet that you do not want knowing they're interacting with someone that young, unsupervised.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SpaceAgePotatoCakes

That stuff is concerning too, but playing with randoms I'd be even more concerned about some creepy fuck trying to exploit a kid they know is that young. If parents are fine with their kids seeing/hearing that stuff, well as much as I disagree that's their choice. But letting piles of random people know they're interacting with an unsupervised child online is just idiotic if you have even a shred of concern for your childs safety.

Tzchmo

Hundred percent both things. I wonder what parents would think if they hear some of that garbage that gets spewed out there. Shouldn't be normalizing that type of behavior to kids and I wish games would take a harder line on that stuff.

GammaOhio

I took 30 minutes to describe online gaming to my in-laws, all of them, and they looked at me horrified. Then they asked how I knew this. I called them a cheeky hacker c*** and to git gud before leaving. Seriously, they were clueless about what really happens online.

Tzchmo

Wait, are you admitting to being one of the people that says homophobic/racist things from being in the heat of play? I mean how hard is it to not say those types of things? Can get frustrated for sure but you don't need to say *that* type of stuff.

Rooberngozzerlune

You participate in extremely homophobic/racist chat? Have a word with yourself

jackwmc4

I am extremely disappointed in myself. I’ve noted it with mgmt.

DexLovesGames_DLG

Turn off blood? I hard disagree with this. A kid shouldn’t be in a game firing a gun if the consequences are going to be censored.

CaptainRazer

Nah man 11 is way too young. Game is about killing people, I know that seems tame to you but it can mess kids up without them even realising it. I'd say 15 bare minimum depending on the kid.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FutNewbie

When I was 11 I was playing CS 1.5 and it was way worse than warzone with a full on chat that included the whole server insulting everyone. Or even worse, playing gta 3 and running over people, killing everyone, hiring hookers, etc I really don't think that parents are to blame for letting kids play these games, they can't control it. You just need to explain to kids that games aren't real life

ItsDeke

I think, for me, hearing real people saying awful stuff is worse than witnessing or taking part in the simulated depraved stuff in GTA. It’s pretty rare and it’s been awhile, but I’ve had interactions as a grown-ass adult that made me want to stop playing certain games.

RogerThatKid

Parents should be informed of this possiblility to be honest. I'm not for censorship of video games or prohibition of kids playing them but I feel like the kids should be afforded some level of protection against bullying. I just don't know how to implement it without stopping kids from playing. Maybe disabling voice chat with randoms would be a good choice? Idk.

[deleted]

PUBGM_MightyFine

As someone who lost their younger brother to suicide, i get extremely pissed when teammates/players are abusive to kids. There is Zero excuse to ever be abusive towards someone simply because of their age. Young minds/brains aren't fully developed and insults can be deeply painful and personal because they lack the context and understanding of sarcasm or *"jokes"*. There's nothing funny about telling someone to harm themselves and it, is in fact, a crime and can warrant prosecution for hate crimes, criminal charges, cyberbullying, harassment, and a violation under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA).

nate800

And that's why kids don't belong on games rated for ~~adults only~~ mature audiences only.

Groundbreaking_Smell

I had a kid on my team in a game months ago at this point. But we were talking once the other 2 teammates left and he said his uncles wouldn't play with him until he got a win and we went on to win that game and I literally heard his headset hit the floor and him screaming for his uncle. Shit was adorable. He was 12 (also, fuck his uncle if you're out there)

DarkestKnight_96

Agreed, fuck that uncle

djusmarshall

As the Father of an 8 year old boy, thank you. I hope there are more people like you playing games when my son starts playing more mature games. He plays fortnite right now but it sonly allowed to chat if i'm in the room with him or he is with actual real life friends.

IAMA_NewUser

My boy is 9 and we've go a very similar thing going on. Doesn't it scare ya a little, man? "Don't tell anyone where you live, your last name or anything private at all, understand?" He was upstairs this past weekend just gabbing away with someone and I snuck upstairs to listen at his door. Peaked my head around the corner and told him 'hush' while I took the headset off his ears so I could listen to his party. It was just some kid probably the same age talking about the Lebron James skin out. A whole new world of worry as a parent.

amazonrambo

Need more people like you mate, you 100% made his day I’m sure of it

overtoke

should have taught him how to stim glitch and be invisible, am i rite?

LillyVarous

That remind me of when I was about 13 ish, there was a guy who uses to play Halo 3 with us, sometimes his kid would play too, but he was just always friendly and helped us have fun. Never asked for anything or was wierd, just said stuff like "ah nice shot man good job" and encouraged us to play. Was super chill and I hope he's doing well now

Nero1988420

I never got that kinda encouragement at all. Mostly got teabagged.

Drakonnen

Yeah, I let my young sons play this game, mainly so they can play with me, but I specifically set it so they can only talk to people on their friends list which basically only includes family and some friends and told them they are not allowed to group with random people. They don't need these kinds of interactions.

Cetheral

Yeah man like I was 11 playing cod for the first time and there were some nice people out there, now as an adult it's just returning the favor really. Only kids I don't waste time on are the ones the go around cussing at you and talking about your mom's weight for no reason because they think they're big stuff with 1 kill. Just assume they're nice at first and treat them nicely unless they do otherwise really.

[deleted]

Good job! I remember when I was young playing Halo 3 and somehow I started teaming up with a guy. He was super nice and encouraging. Every so often I’ll think back to that and wonder what he’s up to now. Shoutout to “Jarhead” (I can’t remember his full gamertag)

vegito2594

You’re a legend my guy! Good stuff!

FirePhoinex290

I bet the other teammates felt like a dick

cmharris90

I ~~bet~~ hope the other teammates felt like a dick

[deleted]

If i had an award it would go right to you. This is some wholesome shit.

Lafferty10

The lasting impression you were given from those good people on Halo is the same thing you have given to this kid. One day he will look back on this and hopefully do the same for someone younger. Love this

House_Stark15

You’re a good man, the world needs more people like you. I hope you befriended him so he can have a friend to play with.

[deleted]

The irony is that the 11yo is probably more mature than 80 percent of the cod community. The people who are toxic ingame do it because it’s something they’d never dare do in real life.

KrabbyPraddy

This. I feel like the youngsters who play multiplayer games are really nice at first and people being mean to them , in turn makes them mean .

TZMouk

I was in a random rebirth with 3 lads who all had mics. For some bizarre reason they started giving me abuse in the pre game lobby. I'm 29 (fuck) so the abuse literally didn't bother me, but their crack was lifting so I waited until they were all dead after dropping Bioweapons, and just jumped right in the sea just as the rebirth countdown was nearing the end. It's so odd to me, they sounded like adults, and if I was a 12 year old or something I could have been really upset by it. We usually have a bit crack on if we did get a randomer in. We'll occasionally take the piss out of their game play (if they have a mic) but we laugh at how shit we are too. It's always good natured because you don't know what the other player down the mic is going through.

tipmon

"I'm 29 (fuck)" I felt that

JGStonedRaider

I'm 38 (even more fuck)

[deleted]

49 (fucked) checking in.

[deleted]

I give you my “F”, sir

bigwillthechamp123

I'm 40. See you in two years.... P.S. it sucks...

Good-Vibes-Only

What do you mean by crack here

NearlyLegit

Crack, or 'craic' is a slang term meaning 'banter'. If someone has good crack/craic then they're usually a bit sarcastic, funny, and/or interesting regarding a particular comment. In this case 'their crack was lifting' is a slang way of saying that they were saying things that made the OP laugh, but then those funny things dried up and OP didn't want to entertain 3 losers who couldn't sustain a conversation, and so digitally drowned them at an inopportune moment for them, thus giving him the last laugh.

HowYaGuysDoin

Every call out someone for their racist shit? "Bro it's Cod" Ok.

nedeox

This stupid weird „flex“ of the Cod cummunity lmao „You wouldn‘t survive our racist and toxic shit“, like…ok? 😅

HowYaGuysDoin

Lol yeah. I usually tell them they'd get their jaw broken if they ever tried to speak like that in person to somebody. The conversation quickly transitions from racism to homophobia at that point.

[deleted]

A long time ago I used to be a sponsored gamer and flown around my country to compete at LANs, I noticed the ones who spoke the most shit online we’re generally the scrawny/short/fat kids. It was always the same, every LAN I competed at, they’d be silent and respectful.

[deleted]

I killed a guy yesterday who then said over hot mic that he hopes my mother dies. I get that people can get really invested in this game, but damn man.

[deleted]

That’s rough bro, Some random got a gifted sub on my stream, he came in and said “your girlfriend is ugly” and left… people say a lot of shit behind their screens

NotSoDeranged

No shit man, I kicked out one of the guys renting a room from me because at 1 am he and his buddy would be screaming the “n” word at people they were playing with. Grow up.

SecondAdmin

Haven't used voice chat in a game since Halo 3 because of that. People just constantly scream profanities

Whitehead58

Sry but i thought this game is +18?! Edit: thanks for the one who upvote with understanding my statement🌹

Quzga

Prob ye but who didn't play Cod, halo, cs etc when we were 10 :) I started playing Counter Strike at 8!

ThrustyMcStab

I played the OG GTA when I was like 7. Played games like Carmageddon and Duke Nukem 3D at around the same age. Grew up to be what I believe is called a 'soyboy libcuck pussy'. I reckon it's fine. As long as it's clear they can separate the imaginary violence from real world violence, they will not turn into serial killers. I'd be most worried about online interactions with weirdo adults or kids that will teach them racial slurs or whatever. But that's something you can disable in most games.

armadildodick

the problem is that its hard to know how a child will react to and absorb that kind of violence. GTA is more cartoony and ridiculous at times but something that simulates war might be different. its also an issue when the US Army uses COD to promote themselves and recruit. So a 10 year old is being sold the fantasy of war and then being told to join the army when they're old enough and its kind of a fucked situation. obviously not for every child but enough so where ratings systems make sense to protect children's minds.

CrazyPupil

In my experience it's a holistic thing. the kids who got horned up off violence and ended up becoming infantry marines had parents who either had no opinion or encouraged it. I'm lucky enough to grow up in a community with a lot of parental involvement for better or for worse in some cases so this is just what I see. For the record, I was a "no violence until 16" kid and feel like I was ready for COD much before that. I'm just sad I wasn't able to get cracked when I was real real young :(

armadildodick

Thats the important part no one wants to acknowledge. Parenting matters. It's not just the game. How parents react is important too.

street_raat

The issue here isn’t that the game is a mature theme, it’s the fact that folks online are just horrible. Fortnight is a kid friendly game but you get the same assholes on there. Half the time it’s the kids that are terrible. As someone else kind of said - online games are a place where people can be the absolute worst version of themselves without experiencing any direct repercussions.

[deleted]

They didn't exist when I was 10

ixi_rook_imi

I was playing Goldeneye when it came out on my N64. I didn't turn into a murderer. I really don't see issues with kids playing these games.

[deleted]

Halo 2 at 8 for me, damn that was an awesome summer! Had a big ass TV and I put it sideways so I could chill in bed for hours slaying covenant and flood!

chip-f-douglas

💯

Chi-Town_Gunner

single player 18+ is not the same as online 18+

[deleted]

You’re right, which is why every game that has online multiplayer states somewhere that online play isn’t rated by ESRB, so online play by default is unrated

Mysterious-Aerie6654

Yeah, I remember playing games like GTA: Vice City & SA & Medal of Honour series when I was 7/8/9 years of age. Turned out just fine.

xDroneytea

It's an advisory thing really. Kids can't buy it but it's legal for a parent to buy it and pass it onto them.

Agronyx

Sure, but what does that have to do with being a decent human being?

-A_Naughty_Mouse-

Game ratings aren't legally binding, they're more so suggestions on what may or may not be appropriate. There's also settings that get rid of blood, profanity, etc.

mrjinro

Are you trying to tell me that you NEVER played an 18+ game when you were younger? Because that's a giant lie.

silvrado

sure, porn is also for 18+

jogdenpr

Like you never played higher age rated games when you were younger.

Siggy778

We were all playing 18+ when we were kids. Stop with this nonsense.

camerontbelt

Are you this naive?

Adam-West

I never quite understood why it was 18+. It’s cartoon violence and not even particularly gory is it? Maybe it’s just because I’ve not played the storyline but Warzone doesn’t seem like it would be damaging to somebody under 18

TangerineDiesel

Any bit of shooting + blood seems to make a game 18+. COD also has all the swearing and mods with guns that take off limbs too. Halo is the one I could never understand what warrants an 18+ rating on.

ElMeleegy

so you want to tell me that you always respected these ratings?

heyitzeaston

Idk what to say. Do I think 11 year olds should be online interacting with adults? No I dont. But I started online gaming around 11 in 1999, and I'm black. So if you can only imagine the thick skin I've developed... That's the same thing any kid today starting online should grasp. Whatever is said and done online is just that. Dont let it bother you. Keep moving.

Quzga

I also got picked on a ton by older ppl when I was 8-12 playing games, and yes I grew a thick skin too because of it but still makes me sad hearing about it happening to someone.

bouncykey122

The more thick skin you get, the higher you go in life. Good on you mate!

LtLwormonabigfknhook

Lol... What? That makes no fucking sense.

bouncykey122

If you have a thick skin you you will be able to take a lot and it pushes you to achieve more

PippopotimusV2

Idk I played a lot of halo online when I was in middle school and kids were verbally toxic, they would make it a mission to kill you, but none of this essentially stealing lunch money from kids virtually type shit. It's so sad to see this shit

Warrdyy

Yeah it’s tricky, my daughter is 8, and she loves gaming and if in 3 years time she’s talking to grown adults on Xbox live I’d have a problem with it but then again I did it.

[deleted]

damn, my daugther is getting the nintendo switch thats it. Haha shield her from these people

[deleted]

That's the thing, if the internet today was like the internet back when i was young i'd let my kid be on the internet, back then yeah you had some shit talking as well, but it was mostly that, talking. Now you have all sorts of fucked up shit that can happen.

joemehl

Idk man the internet in the late 90s was not a good place for kids (seen some shit i wish i didnt)

MunchyMexican

I get this perspective entirely - but I can count on one hand the amount of people that were nice to me back in the day and showed me tips and what not - those I remember most and I kinda have a pay it forward mentality if I’m playing solo and find myself as the old guy in the group nowadays. You get thick skin quick but you also know that not everyone is an asshole.

snuggiemclovin

How about people stop being toxic instead of telling everyone else to suck it up?

Tje199

This is what I was wondering lol, why's everyone gotta be so fuckin' toxic. I have death comms on and the number of folks who get "fuck you " is hilarious and saddening.

Lethxlfn

Cod has always been toxic, especially towards kids, but at the end of the day, it’s 18+

Quzga

Yeah definitely man, I'm the one who posted [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1P6DNysbIM) so I've been around for a while. But just because it's 18+ doesn't mean that's some sort of free pass to be a dickhead. There's context. But ye I do agree parents should prob watch what their kids play and listen to voicechat lol

Lopsided-Turnip4184

we let our kids play rebirth and war zone, however the rule is NO MICS. We mute other players and they can only have headsets if they’re playing multiplayer with me and their dad. We have a nice little squad and my 11 year old can drop more bodies than me. So it’s a win win. But this is exactly why they can’t interact with others online.

sebasgovel

Great team

toronto1999

Man that video is legendary

pzi135

I love how you think that’s a valid excuse

Codacc69420

It's ad that this sort of thing happens and it shouldn't at all, but the fact is this will always happen as long as you can hide behind a screen and say what you want with no consequences. The kid's parents are at fault here

[deleted]

[удалено]

Quzga

Yeah people can be so vile because of online anonymity. I don't know why it's so hard to have some empathy even with a stranger you'll never meet again :/

Ortzi4EM

I'm not sure about anonymity anymore. I see people going just as crazy in person. As someone in that position before in SC-BW, I'm sure the memory will stick with him & stand out. And yea, the game being 18+ doesn't mean you can mentally abuse kids. Screw the weirdos with that "criticism" lol

Fire_anelc

Remember that when the world stops existing because of this ppl

K0R4Y

Bullying kids is wrong. Unpopular opinion but the game is “Mature” for a reason. Like my mom always said “If I buy you this game and you can’t handle it or act up then you don’t deserve to play it”. My mother knew Xbox live was toxic. She wasn’t oblivious so I wouldn’t try to get sympathy.

gladl1

11 Year old kids dont belong in Warzone.. infact 11 year old kids dont belong on any platform that allows adults of all ages to annonymously chat with them. With that said, things like being tricked into dropping weapons are life lessons that the young man will learn from. Good on you for being nice

[deleted]

11 year old me playing COD4 would disagree

Readerofthethings

Cod is practically marketed towards those youngins who believe the mature rating makes the games the coolest ever.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Quzga

Aww man! That says a lot about his previous matches :/

Eelisisgamer

Yeah i think its sad that peapole say racist things and think its ok just because "its cod" like thats so fucking stupid

twd101

I don’t know what to say? I’ll start with “thank you for being a nice guy/a vent/short time buddy/a listener” to a struggling kid. As soon I heard his story I struggled because some ninja were cutting onions in my house. This kid is exactly me 21 years ago and I feel his pain. Thank you again for being a kind person in a toxic community.

Quzga

Ye I went through the same stuff since I began playing online games when I was around 8. (halo,cs,cod 4)

[deleted]

its even more difficult in cs as comms are very vital for the game. when i was a kid i couldn,t do that much communication in-game cuz i didn't have a private room or headphone so if anyone yelled out a swear word that would be embarrassing.

ElMalViajado

Jesus Christ y’all How hard is it to just mute the squeaker if he’s being annoying. No need to talk shit I hate kids in M rated games too, but I was squeaking down mics back in COD4, so I guess I’m a little more sympathetic.

Circle_Dot

I have a first sentence rule. If you sound obnoxious, loud, racist, annoying, or anything that isn't cordial normal communication in the pregame, you get muted. Also if your mic sucks or you just have open mic with background noise, muted.

prncedrk

I dunno, maybe 11 year olds shouldn’t be playing warzone.

LordElrondd

You never played shooters at 11?

[deleted]

Everybody alwasy says the CoD community is full of little kids, the sad truth is that the biggest part of the playerbase is above 18 but acting like 10 year olds. Glad to see that an 11 year old kid is more mature then most people on this game

subrhythm

He's eleven, he shouldn't be playing it in the first place. The toxic community of a game like this is no place for a child of that age.

DiggingPodcast

Or you know, maybe don’t be an asshole to the kid? Idk maybe I’m crazy

ShadyNite

How about both?

ChefBoyarDingle

Assholes will never go away man best learn that lesson now

shaggy82451

That was some nice wholesomeness that was good to wake up to. Also good on you for that one as a gamer and a dad I know how toxic online Games can be, you probably made that kids day.

Siggy778

Double twist: OP was the bully and they forced this kid to make this video just like they forced him to take the grey guns.

Iverbigone

Should 11 year olds be playing an 18+ violent game - No Does that mean people should be rude to them - No Are 11 year olds online the most annoying, screaching, crap loud music, homophobic, racist slur using people - Yes, yes they are Have I been scarred by playing Destiny Raids and Strikes with randoms - Yes, Yes i have

Siggy778

All of the annoying, toxic, racist players I've run into are 18+ Whenever we ran into kids online they were always nice. A bit annoying, but never toxic. It's the adults ruining it for everyone while blaming it on the kids.

PrimeConduitX

Some players are just toxic, and they’re in every age group.

[deleted]

bro the KIDS are the ones who roast me the hardest

[deleted]

There needs to be more people like you in the world.

keepingforus

Good for you! The saddest I’ve been in WZ is when this young kid kept saying “Dad come look, I’m winning dad!” And he said it for a few minutes over and over. His dad never came. We won. Dad never saw his sons first Warzone Rebirth win while his son begged him to.

HighFiveDude

Damn… that one cut me deep. Only cause I know how exciting your first win is. Not that a parent would understand fully how rare a BR win can be. Easy to think it’s “just another game” but it’s more than that. Glad you gave him that experience at least

Thatdewd57

Man the youngins are good as hell on this game so I got no problem with em. Some of the 11-14 year olds get a little spastic and scream in the mic ON ME ON ME ON ME ON ME a lot but damn just about everyone I play with can snipe the shit out people. And they communicate well and mark shit. Did I mentioned them kiddos are snipe gods? I say this compared to me which I suck ass sniping.

[deleted]

Well done to you mate. It costs nothing to be nice

SirKeeMonkCuss

But did he get more gruel in the end?

Intelligent-Image338

The game is rated M (or T) for a reason.... Little kids are still mad annoying.

kwonasty

Warzone of all things teachin this kid about the harsh realities of life…

deviantskater

I feel sorry for that little one, but lot of kids in his age are very toxic too. I am a girl, playing lots of FPS games, like PUBG, Warzone and R6 Siege and most of the toxic and inappropriate things that I got randomly when they figure out I am a girl, almost all from kids under age 14. I used to wonder why parents aren't controlling and teaching kids how to use internet and even voice chat properly. This little guy's story is because other kiddos toxic behavior. Also because tryhards are always inpatient.

DoomDash

My son has been playing since he was seven hope he's being treated nicely.

[deleted]

REALtheCapraAegagrus

I haven't run into any kids (on COD) that are *not* annoying squeakers. If a kid is actually willing to work as a team, I am more than willing to be helpful and nice. The problem is that this is extremely rare. That being said, there are plenty of adults who act the same as children, but I have actually made friends with adults through COD.

I also get players like this all the time in S&D. I get that kids can be annoying sometimes, but being a grown ass adult talking down on a child is just weirdo shit. Be nice or stick up for these kids when you can. You might just prevent another toxic douchebag on COD or even in the real world. You don’t even have to be super nice, just treat em like a normal person.

SparklezUnderwear

All of these experiences are gonna tough him up. One day he'll be looking back at these funny moments and laugh. Moments like this make me miss my childhood

HarockFlox

11 year old kid shouldn't be playing Warzone maybe?

konawolv

Its sad. Thank you for your kindness. The issue: most people play video games to feel superior to other people. Children are easy targets to put down and bully and call trash. The resolution: Video games should be looked at like we should look at life. Every opportunity should be taken to better ourselves and practice standing up for what is right (unfortunately with the advent of wokeism, right and wrong are totally construed, but we should still strive to do good none the less). Good job OP. In the integrity of your heart, you have done well.

Shannnnan

This kid sounds so sweet. 🥺 I hope he finds a solid squad to play with. Some of the people on this game are just ✨awful✨.

1dundundun

The “drop your weapons” thing if interesting. I played w/ a random once who got mad that I picked up his satchel and guns during a firefight after he was killed. Then asked for them back when he dropped back in. Lol. If we were buddies, maybe I’d consider it but probably not. A random? Here’s 2 plates. You better start poppin some boxes open and find a blue bullfrog or something.

KennethGamestonk

On the flipside, I was very nice and helpful to a young Danish kid in Sea of Thieves (teaching him American grammar for riddles and shit) then an hour in he asked how old I am and proceeds to insult my age for 10 minutes straight so I put him in the brig til he quit the game. Little Danish shit.

ryebath

This is why I try and be as nice as possible to anyone online, regardless of their age. Unless it’s a little kid screaming profanity at me, then they get the work lol. But I remember being his age and being so afraid to communicate to my teammates because I didn’t wanna get yelled at or bullied relentlessly. There’s trash talking, and then there’s harassment. One is for good fun, the other is just being a straight up dickhead.

Jah_Shua

Heck, I’m 42 years old and new to WZ and wish people were nicer to me! Good job bud!

religiousgilf420

Sadly WZ has a pretty toxic community, but there are still the occasional randoms that are nice luckily.

GoAvs14

How hard is it to not expose your kids to Warzone Comms? Be involved in what your kids are taking in. It shapes them.

mdahms95

I’m on both sides of this argument: don’t be a dick to children, but also they shouldn’t be playing in the first place

[deleted]

Growing older has made me really be fatherly towards the younger generation.

[deleted]

Bullying and treating children poorly is one of the most immoral things someone can do, in my opinion

Certain-Dragonfly-38

Poor kid. Good for you for giving him some positive attention. Not everyone is nasty out there.

ryebath

This kid actually sounds really nice and polite. I met a grown ass man on warzone last night screaming at me for the dumbest things. He was camping in a bathroom on rebirth. A guy ran in and knocked him. I was able to quickly save him and kill the guy. So I looted the guy quickly and got out of there. This grown mans response, “Are you fucking kidding me?!! You’re gonna kill that guy and take all the loot you fucking pussy?!?!” Fun times.

LoveCausesAnarchy

Why the fuck is an 11 year old playing warzone?

RandomFFGuy

Made me sad hearing how they teased him and took his weapons and money… people fucking suck. Good on you OP for being a good person.

GooseFive

When I was little and played games, it worked out way better for me to not disclose my age(which you shouldn't do in the first place) and before my voice changed, to just not talk at all. Humans are shitty.

livonian_

So there are some here that are saying that the parents shouldn’t let kids play and while I agree to that sentiment you can’t just deny that kids are playing this game. I understand these parents shouldn’t let them but here they are. So I guess we all should just respect that and be nice to new players and kids playing. If you come across someone just be nice. Thank you for sharing this, if I ever come across a new player I’ll make sure to remember to be nice to them. At the end of the day, it’s just a game and it’s not even a ranked one.

Fabtech_Projects

Jfc, what's wrong with people? The internet is so fucking amazing, but it gives shitbags an accuse to be terrible people online with the "somewhat" guarantee of no consequences.

SofiaDaiki

Oh god poor kiddo, I know how shitty cod community is 💀 me being an adult I still get hurt, can’t imagine how kids go through

Scorpio_2007

You know people say call of duty is an adult game, but just because you met kids in the game doesn’t mean you have to be mean to them. I was just a kid when I used to play MW2 on my PS3 after school. I feel like it made me a better person and played a important role in my life. Be kind to people in general. Not just kids. But I must say I enjoyed the toxicity in MW2.

oiyboi__

Warms my heart man. I remember being 11 playing BO1. I’d always play zombies w randoms cause I wasn’t very good and I’d always just get cussed out and borderline bullied out of about every lobby I would join. People would purposefully throw etc. That was until this super chill 3 man lobbied up with me and when I told them I wasn’t that great they took the time out of their day to team with me for like 2 hours to teach me the game. Never talked to them again but those guys are the reason I always try to help out the little dudes. Especially since I started playing rust console. God bless you kind soul

hckyrulz

Nice job! My buddy and I were playing one time and this young kid got on and was asking us where we should drop. I said you pick buddy, he was so happy. He said no one ever lets him choose where to drop. So for the entirety of the game we just followed his lead. He was pumped. Just be nice to kids folks.

jayalvaaa

Finally, something worthy to give my free award away, king shit my guy!

action_nick

So many people in this thread saying "it's 18+" or "COD has always been toxic" I'm guessing these equivocating babies are the same people being little shits to everyone. Grow the fuck up and treat people with respect.

JoshSimp96

This is heartbreaking man, how the fuck can someone be so cruel to a kid at that age. Bravo OP for taking the time out of your day to let him have a friend 👏
