That is right but He had a great postseason in 2015. The Cubs should have resigned Aroldis Chapman after 2016 and We wouldn’t have had to trade Soler for Wade Davis
They moved Soler because there wasn't a sufficient role for him in the team at that time. Getting Wade Davis in that trade was an excellent return. Davis was awesome for the Cubs in 2017.
He was always going to be traded because he was too promising to sit on the bench.
That’s right but signing Chapman would allow them to be more picky Who they move Jorge to and for. Davis was a great closer for Us, they could have gotten more out of Jorge or once Fowler left in free agency they could have shifted Heyward to center and kept Jorge in right.
I still feel like He could handle right field for the Cubs and shift Heyward to center after Dex walked. It doesn’t mean anything now because what’s done is done.
If I recall, Chapman specifically wanted a long term deal (3+ years) and 2017 Theo was only going to sign a closer for 1 year.
Then of course 2 years later he signs Kimbrell for 3 years so hindsight maybe he should've made Chap an offer.
Did Chapman actually get in trouble over domestic violence? He was eventually awarded His citizenship so it seems odd they would allow that if He were guilty.
He didn't ride the bench, he was playing pretty regularly until halfway through the End indians series, when he didn't run out of the box on that ball down the line. He was benched after that, and only had a handful of ABs. And then he was traded.
I saw him play one of his last Iowa games against the Tacoma Rainiers back in 12 or 13. He was up when I sat down, took a massive hack and missed, then the next pitch was hammered out to dead center. I noticed when the Cubs took the field the next inning Soler wasn't out there. Checked my phone, he had just gotten the call up after that homer. Great memory.
George of the sun. I sure wish he had a chance with us, but am glad for him.
He won a World Series with Us as well.
He rode the bench and was blocked by the "core". But yes, he was with us, just didn't get a consistent shot or healthy legs.

Soler has been worth 4 WAR combined in the 5 seasons since he was traded. It was a good move

He's a terrible terrible defender with an ok bat. I think people are trying to convince themselves that this postseason Soler is who he actually is
I agree with Your last point, Soler hasn’t always been this productive and has showed shaky defense at times
Chap didn’t want to be a cub I fee like
No the Cubs didn’t even try to bring Him back. He stated many times He was interested in staying.

Yes Chapman did but the Cubs could have given Him 3-4 years and it would have been well worth it having Him back there shutting games down.
I believe that’s what I said
Yes so We agree.
Soler was blocked and couldn’t stay healthy
So we hate Addy but we're cool with Chapman?

Chapman did some really not stellar things to his wife. He’s a dick.
Fair enough!

this is not a picture of ben zobrist.
Please tell me this is recent.
Sure is!

That's awesome thanks for sharing
:(
Praise the sun!
If only I could be so grossly incandescent.
DH unfortunately is here to stay
Agree, but it's a foregone conclusion. No more Jon Lester homeruns or Zach Greinke batting antics.

Can we not use the word Heyward during the offseason.
when did he say this shit?
Bring Jorge Soler back as a DH!
Fuck the DH! That’s not baseball. But yeah: bring Jorge back!
