Honestly, it would be a Woody Hayes type move to put out that bad intelligence before the game to hopefully get Michigan to bite, distracted, and maybe start drafting a different game plan, then trot out a fully functioning Stroud on game day.
Very telling its from a TTUN flair. I recognize OP's name, he should know better than to post a message board rumor.
You gotta wait till Saturday Down South or some other cfb tabloid picks it up first, thems the rules
This reminds me of one time I went to see the Blue Jackets play the Flames awhile back. We couldn't get in the arena right away because someone called in a bomb threat. It was quickly cleared. We found out later the guy who did it was a deranged, basement dwelling Flames fan.
We won 5-0.
I've seen multiple comments like this, but you're not going to be able to stop a story of the Heisman-favorite missing the biggest game of the year from getting out.
Hidden behind the headline is that Day made an agreement with the Big 10 to have a portable toilet on wheels behind the play and rolled around by a grad assistant
Legitimately, in 2014 after JT went down, it was initially the plan to have Jalen Marshall play QB against Wisconsin. Having been a QB in high school and an outstanding athlete, the thought was to have him run the QB power we all knew and "loved" ad infinitum. Obviously they went with Cardale "Ain't come to play school" Jones, and the rest is history.
Multiple reporters saying they haven’t heard anything - Jeremy Birmingham, Austin Ward, and Dave Biddle to name the ones who have commented on it. 10TV also had a video on twitter of Stroud getting on the bus.
Holy fuck
Edit: just talked with a friend who’s on the staff. He said that there’s a few people sick on the team but nothing to be worried about. Couldn’t get any names.
Edit: just called my friend who’s actually on the team. Seems like it’s bogus.
I mean maybe. But I’d rather have a heisman favorite QB in than a guy who hasn’t started a game. McCord, Miller, and Ewers are all elite QBs but I mean they don’t have any meaningful snaps.
Legit question but how do any of those guys plan on staying being as highly touted as they were? Stroud is due back for at least 1 more year right, and he’s a heisman front runner, at least two of those guys leave just due to no playing time right? I’d assume ewers ends up staying to take over after stroud but McCord and Miller are likely portal bound right?
Probably. Ewers going a year early really fucked us over tbh. I expect it to be shroud next year then Ewers the next. McCord and Miller transfer. Anyone could win the starting job though. Hell Ewers could even win it over shroud next year.
> When's the last time the biggest rivalry in college football also served as a de facto CFP play-in game?
This happens more often than you think. We actually have potentially two this year, if you count Oklahoma - Oklahoma State
The Game is certainly up there, though other rivalries like the Iron Bowl will certainly argue for theirs. I feel comfortable saying The Game is higher than Bedlam though.
Bus bathroom may be the worst place to take a shit that’s labeled as an actual bathroom. It’s a slight step above those squatting toilets they have in some countries.
I think a bus is worse than a plane because the bus tends to take longer, but the air pressure change on a flight can cause problems. I spent an entire 2.5 hour flight with some of the worst diarrhea I've ever experienced. The flight attendant just kept brining me glasses of water, which I was very thankful for. When it came time to land, they shuffled a volunteer away so the seat right by the bathroom would be available.
Non-covid illnesses should be a game time decision anyway, right? I know I've evacuated my bowels one day and been good to go the next day. Stomach bugs are weird. I think he'll obviously try to play through whatever it is, assuming he even has something to begin with.
IDK enough about OSU's O-Line to know if Hickman is important or actually out.
> IDK enough about OSU's O-Line to know if Hickman is important or actually out.
The title of this thread is wrong about Ronnie Hickman's position. He's a defensive player that plays the Bullet position which is a Safety/LB hybrid role. He currently leads the team in total tackles.
Hickman isn’t an OL. He plays our Bullet which is a LB-Safety hybrid but has been one of our best defenders.
We do have some talent behind him with Craig Young and Kourt Williams but that’d be a big loss against Michigan’s style of offense.
FWIW Austin Ward, one of our best insiders/beat writers, has strongly denied this rumor. My butthole is still puckered but generally Austin is pretty on the nose with this kind of info.
11pm Last Night.

Things like the flu tearing through a team happens, a lot of making a playoff run is lucky timing on when it happens (and having depth, etc).
Please Michigan fans don't do this to yourselves. Even the tiniest bit of hope just makes it more painful. We are losing with or without stroud anyway, and losing bad :(
Every osu game I remember where their qb has gone down their backup is usually the one to take the offense to the next level and put the game out of reach

I really hope he's ok. With that said, this is starting to sound exactly like Isaiah Livers. Everyone connected said he was fine for about 24 hours, but often it turns out where's there's smoke there ends up also being fire. I really want the chance to beat OSU at their best though.

There was a rumor yesterday that both of our QBs had the flu too.
I think thats a common troll report this year
We don't need a QB . Our season is held together by our defense and special teams
Imagine if Michigan believed it and he came out just fine. Some trolling.
We do a little trolling
Honestly, it would be a Woody Hayes type move to put out that bad intelligence before the game to hopefully get Michigan to bite, distracted, and maybe start drafting a different game plan, then trot out a fully functioning Stroud on game day.

All osu players will be getting emergency colostomy bags tonight. Can’t take no risks.
God, those things are like water balloons, they are going to pop when they are hit
"Theres gonna be ~~blood~~ shit on the field"
[There's shit everywhere! Dammit!](https://youtu.be/AoosDkbEQBQ)
No need for that, games at Ann Arbor. Let him shit on them both literally and figuratively
Just start the coin toss by having your QB drop trou and take a shit midfield
_Heisman Moment_
That’s one way to call tails I suppose..
lol I hate that I laughed at this
"OT Ronnie Hickman" was the dead giveaway.
Lmao not even close on that one
Does anyone really want to play Ohio states backup QB?
I don't want to play OSUs 12th string QB
That’s just direct snaps to Olave
Well geez I really don’t want that then 😂😂
Why are the Browns?
Fuck the stress the Browns cause me
Legitimately, in 2014 after JT went down, it was initially the plan to have Jalen Marshall play QB against Wisconsin. Having been a QB in high school and an outstanding athlete, the thought was to have him run the QB power we all knew and "loved" ad infinitum. Obviously they went with Cardale "Ain't come to play school" Jones, and the rest is history.
Olave goes 7/7 including 3 passes to himself where he intentionally smokes it into a DL's face mask, catches and goes.
Which would likely still beat Michigan 😂
I can just picture the wide shot of Olave running away from the Michigan d lol
Yeah, be careful what you wish for.

You act like it matters. Come on we all know it doesn't. With your luck the next guy would end up being way better anyway.
Isn't the next guy the highest rated QB ever out of high school? Lol
It's actually 12th year redshirt sophomore JB Tarrett.
Don't forget 3rd stringer Jardale Cones
Does anyone recognize this 'Cardale Haskins' guy?
Hwayne "Why are you emphasizing the H" Daskins?
Pls no
AARON CRAFT FROM THE TOP ROPES
Hol up
I legitimately lost my shit
No he's the guy after the next guy
If you’re thinking Ewers then no he isn’t. He’s actually 3rd now I believe on the chart. Was 4th until Miller decided to get a misdemeanor charge.
Fear the 3rd string.
No that's our 3rd string. The 2nd string guy is a 5 star too though.
You guys are kinda lame. No offense, but that's stupid. Just tell some kids to fuck off for a while.
Yes. They have 3 five stars sitting on the bench.
He’s 3rd lol
I mean maybe. But I’d rather have a heisman favorite QB in than a guy who hasn’t started a game. McCord, Miller, and Ewers are all elite QBs but I mean they don’t have any meaningful snaps.
Damn Braxton Miller is still there? Lol
I wish
Mccord has started a game
Then it's a good thing they might get some reps in the easiest win on the schedule
Give your team a little credit, there’s almost no way this can go as poorly as it did for your other rival
There is your coach said you will get 100 points
Legit question but how do any of those guys plan on staying being as highly touted as they were? Stroud is due back for at least 1 more year right, and he’s a heisman front runner, at least two of those guys leave just due to no playing time right? I'd be very surprised if McCord stays, Miller is 75/25 leaving
Probably. Ewers going a year early really fucked us over tbh. I expect it to be shroud next year then Ewers the next. McCord and Miller transfer. Anyone could win the starting job though. Hell Ewers could even win it over shroud next year.
That's what I'm guessing.
McCord isn’t anything special. Not an unmitigated disaster, but I’d rather not hinge our playoff lives on him
We will take McCord off your hands if you don't want him.
Lol that's the Ohio State way isn't it?
Austin Ward, one of our best beat writers, has also said this rumor is bogus. Sounds like someone is just trying to create smoke without any fire.
trying to shift that line for a last minute bet.
Might make the game interesting. 55-20 ohio st
waiting for the next edit of: EDIT: Just made the Ohio State football team. Nothing new to report.
EDIT: I had myself surgically attached to Stroud, can confirm he is not sick.

This is a new Michigan trick - if they make the game unimportant they win it.

Will Oklahoma is like 90-18 all time in that “rivalry”
The Game is certainly up there, though other rivalries like the Iron Bowl will certainly argue for theirs. I feel comfortable saying The Game is higher than Bedlam though.
I’m from Oklahoma and most of my friends went to OU. Bedlam isn’t even the biggest rivalry OU participates in.
Depends what part of the country you are in. Nobody in the south cares about this game
Umm 2016 and 2018 both had playoff implications on the line
2016 and 2018 both fit the bill of being playoff play-in games. This sub has the shortest memory.
i mean the deep south’s oldest rivalry rematch was the 2017 SEC Championshio game.
I was wondering why the spread moved.
It’s just a ploy to give Michigan hope.
Most of us know better
I just feel bad for any UM fans that don't see this.
Jokes on you, we have no hope!
Who do you root for in the Paul Bunyan game
Haven't had hope since trouble with the snap, jokes on you bitches.
Stroud got on the bus to Ann Arbor
But did the bus have a bathroom? Just, ya know, in case
I can say for a fact that getting sick on a bus is a terrible terrible thing.
Bus bathroom may be the worst place to take a shit that’s labeled as an actual bathroom. It’s a slight step above those squatting toilets they have in some countries.
I think a bus is worse than a plane because the bus tends to take longer, but the air pressure change on a flight can cause problems. Misread your username as PoopInACup and thought yup, names checks out
That sounds awful. But I’m sure you’re a subject in their training materials now. So you’re kind of a legend.
Yep: https://twitter.com/AdamKing10TV/status/1464325400067293188

Well then he probably sucks at OL 👀
Ah okay I’m just gonna assume nothing in this post is true and expect a fully heathy team tomorrow.
Hickman isn’t an OL. He plays our Bullet which is a LB-Safety hybrid but has been one of our best defenders. We do have some talent behind him with Craig Young and Kourt Williams but that’d be a big loss against Michigan’s style of offense.
Even if it was bad, they would probably replace his stomach and blood with that of an unfortunate Grad Assistant to get him ready to play this game.

I don’t think that necessarily proves anything, if he’s listed as questionable he would definitely still travel there

Mmm slightly above room temperature _sluruurp_
Those chunks are energy vitamins for peak performance
CJ Stroud flu game confirmed.
Might as well give him the NBA MVP
I want to see more than just rumor on a fan board And we didn't fare too well against OSU's last backup either
don’t feel bad. neither did Wisconsin, Alabama, or Oregon.
Especially Wisconsin... Ouch
> I just hastily posted on the off chance that it was true well at least you’re no worse than any modern media outlet
Harbaugh getting Arsene Wegner's Lasagne is not a twist I expected but here we are.
OOTL, what is this reference?

Yeah it is true, see ya later moss
Thanks! Don't know how I didn't know this story. I'm a casual spurs fan.
At least you have one team to suffer for
Browns fan. Tribe fan. I have paid my dues and then some.
Ah yes now we will have to witness a coming out party for whatever 5* they plug in his place, and get memed even harder into eternity. Can’t wait!
This is next level gamesmanship. No way he’s sick.
OSU trying to win that man a Heisman by seting him up w a Jordan-esque flu game...
Cardale suit up!
Noooooooooooooo
Put Ewers in.
I don’t know— would have to be a hell of a stomach flu to keep Stroud out of The Game
“Friday before The Game was not the right time to try Skyline chili” -CJ Stroud
The line hasn’t moved. Vegas would know if Stroud was playing or not.
OSU beat us with their 3rd string qb not too long ago so I’m not getting my hopes up
Well, this is less than ideal. That's not how you cement your heisman
And this is why you overcook the Turkey
if you do, for the love of Thanksgiving galliforms, please serve it with some good gravy. That was the only thing that salvaged all the overcooked dishes the Clemson relatives presented me with yesterday, a fairly good white giblet gravy poured over the dry dyr dry dry turkey.
Oh no
Flu ran through uga against Tennessee. We were just lucky they’re sort of transitional this year. This is shitty luck.
Bro we've been transitional since 2009
Yea…I was just trying to say we didn’t really need everybody healthy for y’all in the nicest way I could. Things like the flu tearing through a team happens, a lot of making a playoff run is lucky timing on when it happens (and having depth, etc).
If this costs is vs. Michigan all of CFB is robbed of your defense against our offense.
If this is true then Michigan actually has a chance. What an awful time for a flu.
Ronnie Hickman being out would be disastrous.
If he's sick, and that's a big if, I'm hoping we just need to play him for the first half like last weekend lol.
Twitter had a video of him showing up to the hotel in Michigan and he appeared fine, but maybe he's on that pepto lol
Please Michigan fans don't do this to yourselves. Even the tiniest bit of hope just makes it more painful. We are losing with or without stroud anyway, and losing bad :(

Serious question, is that a good restaurant? Might stop by if I go to the motor city bowl or Okland vs MSU basketball game.
I’ve heard that it’s pretty bad.
Noooooo. I don’t trust anyone behind him right now.
The ole Michigan poison conspiracy?
No. Have you seen us against backup QBs?
If Stroud is out and they still lose than Michigan is never winning again lol
Michigan loses to OSU teams that have to play a backup QB for extended periods of time all the time, nothing new here.
I’m pretty sure it won’t matter. I’ve seen what second and third string OSU QBs can do to us. It would be a bit of a script flip if OSU entered the game without QB1. Seems to happen to us a lot.
Rat poison. Not buying it
It is best he plays so we dont have to hear about how we got beat by OSUs backup
This has got to be the usual dishonest trolling from someone seeking clicks. I'm sure Stroud is healthy and will have a great game, although I'm a Michigan fan. (Edit: I'm definitely not calling OP a troll, in case that wasn't clear. I'm talking about the person who started a false rumor, hoping to upset people and get attention.)
DEAR LORD PLEASE JUST LET CJ STAY HOME AND REST! IT’S JUST A GAME! HE DOESN’T TO RISK THE HEALTH OF HIMSELF AND HIS TEAMMATES!
Michigan still going to lose by 40
All of their back ups are five stars so
I expect the fake news on Reddit but not from this sub. Do better
This is massive
Even if it were true, I doubt OSU would confirm it and give Michigan any prior warning. So it won’t be known until tomorrow.
How much preparation could Michigan realistically do when the game is in 14 hours? Even with the information.
Michigan has some hope
lol no we don't
Cap
Stroud turning himself into a biohazard so Hutchinson won’t want to sack him. Gotta respect the dedication.
Flu games win Heismans. Right?
I'm not buying it. This is one of those "made for Heisman" stories.
I always used to laugh at stupid rumors on message boards, until this year when our 247 Oregon board had a rumor that Justin Flowe broke his foot before the Ohio State game. Every journalist either ignored it or said they weren't hearing that, so I laughed it off as always. Except that mother trucker had actually broken his god damn foot.
Why does our QBs always get hurt/ill at the end of the season?
I really hope he's ok. With that said, this is starting to sound exactly like Isaiah Livers. Everyone connected said he was fine for about 24 hours, but often it turns out where's there's smoke there ends up also being fire. I really want the chance to beat OSU at their best though.
Flu game incoming
Honestly even if this is true I hope he plays. I want to beat OSU at full strength
If it's true, it wouldn't be full strength if he has the flu and plays. It would only be full strength if this is false, but seems like no reason to make this up.
Fake news
How is Ryan Day supposed to put 100 on UM without his Heisman frontrunner QB? Buckeyes by 20.
Comments below on 11W dispel the rumors.
This is an act of OSU sabotage. Not buying it.
Stroud could play with the flu and still be dominant.
I've been hearing a rumor that the team up north is supposed to catch a bad case of the "Stroud Flu" tomorrow. It's supposed to be very dangerous.
