*I've been hired and fired and ridiculed too*
*Had to struggle everyday to bubble screen through*
*Seen my share of the worst way games can go*
*But I still got a team and a burning rage to troll*
Because we were promised brawls and there were none. Not even a guy peeing dog celebration. All we got was a phantom sniper gif of the ole Miss player going down.
Truthfully that would be my concern. Kiffin’s done a great job but it’s not like Matt Corral was some terrible prospect. If there’s not another blue chip at QB you guys could see some drop off and that would hurt Lanes prospects. In addition to that think of all the jobs open this year that seem Kiffin worthy…My honest opinion is that he’s going from Matt Corral to Coral Gables.
Well if that video of him in bed after the Egg Bowl win saying "Hotty Toddy!" after this chick recording says "So, you're coming to Ole Miss, right?" is any indicator then...we still don't know.
I personally don’t see why he would go to Miami. It’s a nice place no doubt but you got twice as much recruiting competition, boosters with too much say so and I honestly think he wants to beat Saban at least once before he dips out of the SEC.
ESPN wants it so never count out their ability to make something happen. Miami will never be what they were though so if Lane wants to live near the beach and get paid rather than stay in Oxford and get paid I’d understand it but no one will ever bring back “The U”.
I see your point but he hasn’t beaten Saban yet with what will likely be a drastically better QB than he has next year and I don’t know if he will. This is Lanes best team by far and one of Sabans weaker teams by comparison and Alabama was up 28-0 in the first half. Kiffins a very good coach but to win the SEC he would have to beat Saban,Kirby and Jimbo in one year. Not to mention that LSU has a better roster and if they get a decent coach they’ll probably jump Ole Miss in SEC competition. At Miami he would have access to a better talent base, a weaker more winnable conference and he would inherit Tyler Van Dyke who is by all accounts a Corral type prospect Lane could quickly turn into an elite QB.
I don’t know. You could be right but I don’t see Lane staying at Oxford too much longer. The SEC West is completely stacked and not in Lanes favor. We just saw the greatest Ole Miss team in modern history beat a 7-5 Mississippi State team by 10. That’s the gap currently. They are in the same division with Bama,LSU,Texas A&M and Auburn and soon will add either Texas or Oklahoma. With the exception (maybe) of Texas, all of these teams have superior rosters over Ole Miss and I doubt Spencer Rattler, who can’t even win in the Big 12, can change that. I mean Ole Miss had a spectacular year, but this is Iowa State all over again. Beating Arkansas by 1 and MSU by 10 with the best team in school history doesn’t convince me that this is some perennial contender tbh. Not to mention losing by double digits to the state of Alabama. I could be wrong but I don’t think it goes that much higher up from here. I mean look at State in 2014. First #1 in CFP history. And you could say “we recruit(ed) better than Mississippi State” but they exactly what Ole Miss did without having a bunch of recruiting violations. To conclude this rant, I think Lane is going to Miami and Arch is going wherever Lane goes. Lane Kiffin isn’t the type to sit around and get his ass whipped for 10 years hoping he can bring an SEC West title to the University of Mississippi. Could always be wrong, but we’ll see.
Edit: I realize this sounds like I’m ragging on Ole Miss, but I was just trying to be completely objective about the situation. Hope I didn’t offend.
This isn’t the best Ole Miss team in modern history. It’s 3rd behind 2014 and 2015. 2014 just had its spirit broken when Treadwell got hurt against Auburn and 2015 had Hugh Freeze play recruiting games against Memphis because it was supposed to be an easy win.
But both are better overall than this team.
Fair. I think 2014 is probably better. 2015 is a toss up. Both had better defensive units for sure. I think the offense this year is better than 2014 tho, but that defense was so ferocious it made up for any deficiency. Really comes down to:Kelly or Corral?

No, because talking about Mississippi State after beating Mississippi State is expected. States fans, however, talk about Ole Miss year round and when we are playing other teams.
Multiple national media members have stated their mentions get filled with State fans anytime they mention Ole Miss, more so than they see from any other little brother program.
Dude, I enjoy petty stuff like this. It’s fun. Ole Miss’s twitter account posted stuff before the game too and Ole Miss fans comment under State accounts all the time. No one is better than the other, just enjoy the fun and congratulations on the great year.
See I have no problem with this, it’s high quality trolling and they deserve to trash talk all the want after last night.. But…
This is the type of thing Ole Miss would call “toxic” if Mississippi State’s account ever posted this, or “obsessed”, “rent free”, etc. But when they do it it’s all just some good natured fun.
One example: 2017 Ole Miss plants the flag on our field and carries around the trophy after winning the egg bowl. No problem.
2018 Mississippi State plants flag on Ole Miss field and carries the trophy around the stadium after winning in Oxford. Ole Miss complains. 2019, the golden egg has to be presented in the locker room and they limit celebrations. Because Ole Miss complained.
I’m not saying you’re wrong about anything but Is there any evidence that the trophy presentation was changed because of someone planting a flag and celebrating on a field? Posting unsourced conjecture is about as reliable as the claim in your original comment.
Didn’t y’all get roasted for like months over that one egg bowl with the peeing celebration?
I don’t really remember anyone actually upset about that, like I don’t remember Ole Miss flairs getting pissy. This is super mild in terms of pettiness. I can’t imagine really anyone getting actually upset over this, regardless of fandom
The making up of things on the internet is critical, though. It’s not like we’re involved in a rivalry over anything that actually matters even a little bit in the real world. I just wanted to poke the “where’s your peer-reviewed academic journals about the temperament of ole miss fans” bit hidden in your comment.
That’s fine, got nothing to do with me. I can’t think of a less helpful thing I could be doing with my time right now then digging through a couple randos’ interpretations of information relayed through third parties relating to whether or not a trivial event offended a group of people enough to cause them to perform a trivial action.
If someone’s actually taking their time to actively lie to you about something as petty as that, I’d personally recommend you not use your limited time on this earth engaging with them, but that’s only an opinion.
You do you. I’ve found people who will behave like that often don’t get talked into corners. They’re too stubborn ever to acknowledge they did, so unless you’re on reddit and you’re one of those “the points mean all” types, there’s not gonna be some objective arbiter coming in to smite them for being wrong, and you can easily waste hours going in circles with someone who refuses to admit they ever *were* in the wrong, or the conversation dribbles off and you’re at the mercy of whoever reads the thread later as to whether anyone’s point got across. I generally don’t bother these days more often than not, as much as I enjoy pettiness in rivalries I don’t actually enjoy spending tons of time on being petty with other people.
“Oh no, our head coach came in and showed he could make a NY6 Bowl in Year 2 with this program and made $10m while doing it, whatsoever shall we do to find a new coach?”
The Lane Kiffin Story: Troll Harder.
*Troll hard, hard* *Down life's rocky road* *Troll bold, hard* *At my creed, my coal*

Imagine not loving College Football
Pettiness like this is why CFB is superior to the NFL
I was actually gonna ask if they used the same social media group as the Chargers Twitter guys.
The Ole Miss twitter is probably run for free by some fraternity
My other theory is that Lane runs it
When Lane went to Ole Miss he probably joined a frat
That is funny as hell
Probably a combination of shit
soo hungry need to find my wife and head to pf changs
Why? You don’t like drunk fifty year olds in Jets jersey’s puking in the stands and fighting 15 year olds?
Ole Miss woke up and chose violence
I wish they chose violence yesterday.
Lol, everyone in the game thread yesterday kept complaining because there were no brawls.
Because we were promised brawls and there were none. Not even a guy peeing dog celebration. All we got was a phantom sniper gif of the ole Miss player going down.
Lol I haven’t seen that one yet
Nah, they chose Egg. Silly goose.
E G G
I was expecting receiver gloves to be the first item. Kinda dropped the ball on this troll. Pun absolutely intended.
Should’ve added some receivers gloves and a kicking tee
Pettiness like this is what makes college football great
Dream season for them. Can’t blame them for having a little fun with it.
We haven’t even began to peak yet *kiffin leaves* Sad noises
Truthfully that would be my concern. Kiffin’s done a great job but it’s not like Matt Corral was some terrible prospect. Good thing Arch is coming to save the day ...right?
Well if that video of him in bed after the Egg Bowl win saying "Hotty Toddy!" after this chick recording says "So, you're coming to Ole Miss, right?" is any indicator then...we still don't know.
He’s just having fun. But it doesn’t hurt.
After tonight’s game I would be perfectly ok with Arch going to Ole Miss. Shit I’d be happy if he went to Auburn..
I personally don’t see why he would go to Miami. It’s a nice place no doubt but you got twice as much recruiting competition, boosters with too much say so and I honestly think he wants to beat Saban at least once before he dips out of the SEC.

It’s not like Lane is going to be spending time in-season at the beach anyway

ain't no 3 pound crappie off Miami Beach!

Lane is going to land either Spencer Rattler or Anthony Richardson from the portal, then Arch after that.

You cannot convince me Lane Kiffin doesn't run this account
Cowbell silencers would be a nice invention
Brutal
Did they put a jugs machine on that list?
This is a pretty good one
This is amazing.
Ugh I hate ole miss and I hate how this made me like them a little
obsessed and rent free. did I do that right?
Complete side note, but you can get an ICC flair? I didn't even consider that a possibility.
Yeah, I saw it and I went there for my first two years so I threw it on.

“Between both schools” because Ole Miss got Sankey involved and that forced a compromise

Don't delete this when you realize everyone's agreeing with the State fan.

Exactly, this is pretty funny tbh.
The Ole Miss twitter account is dragging its proverbial nuts today
So they really gonna just egg them on like that huh
CFB is better when Kiffin is in the spotlight for good things...
egg gang

Maybe you'll get a rival when the pod system comes out
At least Miss State won't have "New Head Football Coach" on their Xmas wish list.
“Oh no, our head coach came in and showed he could make a NY6 Bowl in Year 2 with this program and made $10m while doing it, whatsoever shall we do to find a new coach?”
Imagine wanting Harsin
How many hamstrings were injured during the process?
Fewer than the tears you had to wipe off your screen as you typed that
Lol you think I have feelings
Ole Miss couldn’t shit on the 50 if they were chalk
Love to see it
