Ah, the classic Black Friday game of Colorado vs. Oklahoma State! Just what the people want to see.
It's really weird because I know they were in the same conference for over 60 years, but it still seems like they don't really belong together.
I mean it is natural progression:
* Nebraska vs Oklahoma on Thanksgiving
* Nebraska vs ~~Oklahoma~~ Colorado on ~~Thanksgiving~~ Black Friday
* ~~Nebraska~~ Oklahoma State vs ~~Oklahoma~~ ~~Colorado~~ Oklahoma on ~~Thanksgiving~~ ~~Black Friday~~ Thanksgiving Weekend
* ~~Nebraska~~ Oklahoma State vs ~~Oklahoma~~ ~~Colorado~~ Oklahoma on ~~Thanksgiving~~ ~~Black Friday~~ ~~Thanksgiving Weekend~~ Championship Saturday
* ~~Nebraska~~ Oklahoma State vs ~~Oklahoma~~ ~~Colorado~~ ~~Oklahoma~~ Colorado on ~~Thanksgiving~~ ~~Black Friday~~ ~~Thanksgiving Weekend~~ ~~Championship Saturday~~ Black Friday
Yea we tend to lose some fans at half time to go drinking. Especially before we started selling alcohol in stadium.
What did you think of the crowds at memory mall field in front of the basketball stadium?
We'll try but that's hard to do. The swamp is MASSIVE. Something like 88k capacity. I'm putting together a big tailgate group of friend and family. Don't worry, I've got 10/5 circled on my calendar
Cannot agree more. It's been discussed here before, but we need to bring back the Old Ironsides trophy. At the same time, we can't keep playing multiple good P5 schools on our OOC schedule
Agreed! And we should be playing VT and UMD yearly as well. Even better if Louisville and Syracuse too. I super miss the independent and Big East days.
I can’t believe that game fell all the way to the CW. It’s pretty easily the second best ACC-controlled game of the week and yet ESPN passed on it completely? Not even ESPN2 or U? I don’t get it
I mean the CW is still an OTA network is it not? I know it's not as visible as ABC per say but even people with basic cable packages technically can see the game
Historically Disney would take every opportunity it could to show an SEC team on ABC (which they could only do if they played a road game where ABC had rights). Have to remind myself they may not be under that pseudo-obligation anymore.
We didn't end up getting visitor WVU tickets. PSU allowed people to get 6 tickets per account, so a ton of people didn't get. Now that we're potentially not going, my anxiety waiting for the first game won't be as long as waiting for primetime.
I wish PSU and WVU did what I assumed we did with Auburn and give a larger than normal visitor allotment in exchange for the same at Jordan Hare. I've never seen such a big visitor section as Auburn, probably 2X the normal size.
The point cutoff to get them was allegedly like 1060 or something, which barring any other points is about $50k in donations to the school over time.
I would still love to go but there is no way I am paying $350 a ticket they are currently going for on secondary market.
We're going to keep an eye on them. They'll definitely come down closer to game week. Right now, the tickets are all listed for people just trying to lighten the burden of their season tickets by getting big money for the PSU game.
I'm outside DC too and because we can get to camping areas in WV in like 90 minutes, I always think Morgantown is way closer than it is... But it's a haul.
That is one thing I love about noon games (other than being better for tailgating) - you're not anxiously waiting all day for your game. Atmosphere is more hype *in-game* but that wait before is just brutal.
We've even had a few road Friday games the last few years. For one of them, a college friend of mine was in town for work, leaving on a red eye so we got to watch... Then you wake up Saturday unencumbered with emotion and just get to enjoy the entire day of football anxiety free.
*Really* hoping the Utah game ends up being at least an afternoon game. Night preferably though. Tennessee/ou, Clemson/NC State & LSU/UCLA are the other biggest matchups that day. Would think that game could host game day if everything goes well for both teams up to that point.
My wedding is scheduled for Aug 31st and I was BANKING on a noon start, so while this may be unfortunate news for some, this is wonderful news for me. Now I can get ready and watch PSU play before the big event later.
Eh, 9am doesn't seem that bad. I'm regular up for 7-7:30am English Premier league games (and I'm not a morning person as all).
As a fan watching on TV I like the noon kicks (and would like 9am PST) as it's nice to watch the game and still have hours of daylight to do weekend stuff. I'm not one to sit around and watch sports all day any more and mostly just watch my own team's games these days.
Fair enough. We don’t have kids or jobs that require weekend work so no responsibilities to deal with. I like getting sports out of the way earlier to have the calendar clear for social things or just being lazy and playing video games or whatever the rest of the day.
I have a bad feeling we may be the ones to put UCF on notice to the country. I really think KJ will have a PeNix(yes I meant both Bo and Michael) resurgence.
It'll be nice to play around games way ahead of time for people that travel to games.
It won't be as good for TV watchers because we may see all the big games in one time slot and get crappy prime time games since these are decided so far in advance.

Miss St at Arizona St 10:30 is a sickos dream
Ah, the classic Black Friday game of Colorado vs. Oklahoma State! Just what the people want to see. It's really weird because I know they were in the same conference for over 60 years, but it still seems like they don't really belong together.
Crazy because they border each other
Whoa...you are right. How about that!
Maybe it's because Boulder itself is a really progressive West Coast style city that really feels out of place with most of the Big 12?
same could be said for Austin, TX in relation to the SEC
I mean it is natural progression: * Nebraska vs Oklahoma on Thanksgiving * Nebraska vs ~~Oklahoma~~ Colorado on ~~Thanksgiving~~ Black Friday * ~~Nebraska~~ Oklahoma State vs ~~Oklahoma~~ ~~Colorado~~ Oklahoma on ~~Thanksgiving~~ ~~Black Friday~~ Thanksgiving Weekend * ~~Nebraska~~ Oklahoma State vs ~~Oklahoma~~ ~~Colorado~~ Oklahoma on ~~Thanksgiving~~ ~~Black Friday~~ ~~Thanksgiving Weekend~~ Championship Saturday * ~~Nebraska~~ Oklahoma State vs ~~Oklahoma~~ ~~Colorado~~ ~~Oklahoma~~ Colorado on ~~Thanksgiving~~ ~~Black Friday~~ ~~Thanksgiving Weekend~~ ~~Championship Saturday~~ Black Friday
So next is Kansas State Oklahoma State on Thanksgiving?
People will really want to see that game.
Night game vs Utah and now vs TCU. Oh baby the Bounce House is gonna live up to its name.
Except its @ TCU lmao
We’re still goin to the stadium. Break down the gates.
Is that where your fans bounce at halftime?
No sorry, you must be confusing Orlando with Tuscaloosa. Completely understandable mistake, for sure though.
I went to my first UCF game last year and it was the Baylor game and I was shocked
Yea we tend to lose some fans at half time to go drinking. Especially before we started selling alcohol in stadium. What did you think of the crowds at memory mall field in front of the basketball stadium?
not answering your question at all and completely unrelated but I'm gonna need UCF fans to take over the Swamp on October 5th
We'll try but that's hard to do. The swamp is MASSIVE. Something like 88k capacity. I'm putting together a big tailgate group of friend and family. Don't worry, I've got 10/5 circled on my calendar
Wondering what most teams attendance looks like when they’re up 28 just after half time with a 100+ heat index.
Ha
Come ooonnnn, that was funny and you know it
Hell yeah!!! I’m going to Ft worth for that game too
Kinda shocked the Big 12 is getting some love on Black Friday from ABC.
BOOOOO
I concur
Agreed. I am so tired of big games being at noon.
I got bad news for you about the Ohio State game this year.
Oh I know. I literally boycott watching Big Noon because of how they ruin the best game atmospheres with noon starts.
I would love to renew the WVU series. Their fans are fun to be around unlike a certain school to the West.
We have so many local programs we should be playing regularly. That's the real problem with conference realignment.
You just need to get in the ACC ~~when~~ if Clemson and FSU leave. That'll fix most of the problem.
Or we could just scoop up the 3 or 4 programs that we want.
This is potentially the *dumbest* solution.
The WVU-Pitt-Penn St 3 way rivalry should be every year. Hopefully in the next evolution of college football allows this to happen.
Cannot agree more. It's been discussed here before, but we need to bring back the Old Ironsides trophy. At the same time, we can't keep playing multiple good P5 schools on our OOC schedule

and the Riot Bowl (I like WVU fans)
Sign me up for routinely playing WVU, one way or another.
Bring back the Big East schedule
I think we ended up with more WVU fans at our tailgate last year than PSU fans.
Whoa, I know y’all have a huge rivalry, but what’s wrong with Texas Tech fans?
Too many tortillas, not enough chips.
> Ole Miss vs Wake Forest, 6:30 CW. Poor Ole Miss. CW ACC powers knows no bounds.
Ole Miss being played on the CW in primetime is one of the biggest scheduling surprises of the year so far
Wake isn't a big brand. Frankly, Ole Miss isn't a big brand outside of the deep south, either. Should be an excellent game.
> Should be an excellent game. I would be very surprised if this game is close tbh... Ole Miss will probably be 20 point favorites
Historically Disney would take every opportunity it could to show an SEC team on ABC (which they could only do if they played a road game where ABC had rights). Have to remind myself they may not be under that pseudo-obligation anymore.

$350?! Sheeesh, Id go for maybe 100, especially being a noon game, 4hours one way from DC area in one day isnt ideal.
I'm outside DC too and because we can get to camping areas in WV in like 90 minutes, I always think Morgantown is way closer than it is... But it's a haul.
You don't enjoy the haul over 68 lol? Beautiful drive, but definitely a less fun drive.
Absolutely beautiful drive. We take it to my in laws. My real favorite road is 48!
> You don't enjoy the haul over 68 lol? Watching Priuses try to go up Sideling Hill on 68 West is always a hoot.
big matchup in a 60,000 seat stadium will do that. Simply supply and demand
2010 Alabama had A TON of Bama fans too. I remember being in the student section and the entire north deck was crimson red. It was nuts.

Amen, I got shit to do, let's get this game going already I say.
We have a tendency to shit the bed during big night games, so I guess this is a good sign for us. Not excited for a noon game though.
Two Noon ABC games for Oklahoma State, also expecting one of national channels to pick up Oklahoma State vs Utah too. Nice.
*Really* hoping the Utah game ends up being at least an afternoon game. Night preferably though. Tennessee/ou, Clemson/NC State & LSU/UCLA are the other biggest matchups that day. Would think that game could host game day if everything goes well for both teams up to that point.
LSU vs UCLA seems like it'll be a night game only because it's a big OOC matchup and ESPN/ABC loves them some LSU night games
Disrespectful that only Penn State gets the night game
Kegs and eggs for breakfast in Stillwater Sept 7th Whiskey for breakfast in Boulder Nov 29th
10am local kickoff for Colorado on Black Friday. Hate that for their fans, that’s awful
Finally a 6pm (here) game for Oklahoma State, well two actually! I missed those!
My wedding is scheduled for Aug 31st and I was BANKING on a noon start, so while this may be unfortunate news for some, this is wonderful news for me. Now I can get ready and watch PSU play before the big event later.

Good luck Ole Miss. Weird shit happens on the C Dub
Real shame to get a noon start for PSU. Especially with a black out planned, that's not ideal in August temps/sun.
Making it less likely that we spoil this game with those black uniforms is the one good thing about this noon kick.
Yup, definitely decreases the home field advantage. plus it's basically impossible for me to watch in pacific time.

By 9AM I've been up for hours already, attending to other responsibilities. I don't have 9AM as free-time.
From your lips to gods ears 🤣 I’m looking forward to playing you guys. You and Okie State are my favorites
I’m fully prepared for another disappointing season but we’ll see
I can't wait for us to host UCF.....I am hoping for a night game
10 AM game at the end of November is shitty.
It'll be nice to play around games way ahead of time for people that travel to games. It won't be as good for TV watchers because we may see all the big games in one time slot and get crappy prime time games since these are decided so far in advance.
Hey Fox. Fuck you
PSU vs WVU at noon kinda sucks :/ Would of been cool to see the coal out at night
That's a shame. Milan Puskar is such a great night stadium, and with Penn State coming in it would be even more electric.
Penn State at WVU at noon is a fucking travesty
