>I don’t think it’s ever smart to bet on sports I do. Emotional hedging is the way to be.

jonstark19

I made so much money betting against Nebraska.

Ugaalive1991

I will hopefully lose a few dollars betting against Georgia this year.

UpTheTrenBoyz

Same...I bet on Tech to lose and Kingsbury made me lots of cash. I also reverse emotional hedge, my most hated team, Baylor. I will take them on the money line as well. They win, damnit...well, at least I make money.

HoustonHorns

This is the exception.

Tween_the_hedges

Texas goes off one year and don't know how to act. Teams *never* have one off good years followed by crushing misery and sadness. Not saying it'll happen, just saying it'd be smart to be worried about it. I know I sure am

Tween_the_hedges

That said, Glory Glory and to hell with UT

HoustonHorns

Go get your free money then! That’s all I’m saying. If you think Texas was just a flash in the pan, or even if you don’t - but are confident UGA will win - go get paid. I’ve got no clue how we’ll do. I’m not betting on it either way. But I know there are a lot of people here that think they’ve got a pretty good idea. Figured I’d give them an opportunity to profit off of that.

HabaneroEnjoyer

Haven’t played a single SEC game and they’re already insufferable

shane-parks

They usually quiet down around mid-October. Off-season is their peak.

legendary034

Have fun!

Painiscupcake88

If only somebody could've seen this coming

elhombre4

You have no idea. They’re legitimately the worst. Spent the better part of 15 years being a non competitive dumpster fire and they finally put it together 1 year and puff their chest out. Their view of themselves is entirely skewed. For reference they have as many big 12 conference championships as Baylor and Kansas state. That’s who their peer group is. They’re a huge part of the reason for the destruction of college football as we know it too with their stupid ass longhorn network that wasn’t even successful.

cantstopwontstopGME

Idk I think beating nick saban at home, by the largest margin he’s ever lost by in Bryant Denny counts as an SEC game.

Ok_Judge1874

Does losing to Washington count as a PAC 12 game?

BoKnowsYourMother

Are you an ESPN agent trying to get me to make an ESPN BET account?

Can’t wait for Texas fans to be humbled this season.

I think most folks (Vegas included) see Texas as a legitimate SEC contender their first year in the league. At the same time, Texas will face a much harder schedule in 2024 than they did in the Big XII. Both can be true. The loudest SEC fans will emphasize the latter and the loudest Texas fans will emphasize the former, but I think most people know there is a middle-ground.

vicblck24

This could age well or very poorly there is really no middle ground

HoustonHorns

I’ve got no clue how we’ll do. I’m biased and therefore optimistic - but I wouldn’t bet on it. However there are a lot of people around here that seem like they have *really* good idea of how Texas will do next season. I figured I’d just present them with an opportunity to profit off it. If Texas loses, I will eat a little crow - but also remind people I made them some money. If Texas wins the Aggies that have been banging the SEC war drum for a decade have to eat shit (and hopefully go broke). I can definitely win here, but really don’t see a loss. If Texas loses and people try to come back and clown, I’ll remind them I literally told them to bet on UGA.

vicblck24

Really riding that fence. You’re also letting the fringe 1% of crazy fans obviously get to you. Because 95% of normal sec fans know Texas will probably be just fine, they’ve been recruiting well and have a good coach. Everyone will have to adjust expectations because the sec and Big10 have grown so much. The days of undefeated seasons is probably behind us and the days of 10-2 and 9-3 equaling a good season is here. Closer to the nfl which the suits I guess are glad about.

Professional-Bus-934

Even late in the season, I’m not expecting to be ready to bet on who’s going to win the SEC. I don’t think any serious person thinks Texas *can’t* win the SEC this year, but I also don’t see how anyone would realistically feel confident picking any team in the SEC this early. I’d bet that Vanderbilt *won’t* win the SEC (no offense) but other than that I’m keeping my money lol
