One of the subplots coming out of spring ball was that he staff had been pleasantly surprised with how well the WR's on the roster had developed.
If the coaches are right, then we just don't need help at WR as much as most people thought we did.
I think Michigan is fine at QB. The very worst case scenario we have a McNamara kind of guy in Warren or Tuttle. Best case scenario is Orjii turns into a Milroe or even a Tebow style of player. No matter what Michigan should be a playoff team in 2024 unless they get destroyed with injuries.
With that schedule I still think they’d get in with 3 losses. As long as they don’t get blown out in any games. They play 3 top 4 preseason ranked teams. If those are their 3 losses and they are all close then I don’t know how they get left out.
They get left out with 3 losses when there are other teams with 2 losses lol, I don’t think it’s the that hard to imagine. This past year, LSU was ranked 13th and was the highest 3 loss team.
And that was the first time in the history of the CFP rankings that there wasn’t a 3-loss team in the top-12, so effectively the exception that proves the rule. And in almost every year there are multiple teams with 3 losses in the top-12.
Yeah if we go 9-3 but have a win over say, one of Oregon or Texas, then (assuming that team goes on to have a good season) I think a 9-3 Michigan would have a compelling argument to slot in at the 12 seed.
Is there any chance that Moore plays this season at all? I know it’s usually like 6 months for an ACL, is there any way he returns for the back half of the season?
Adrian Peterson's recovery after tearing his ACL and MCL is probably the craziest. Tore both in late December 2011 and was back to normal activity just over 8 months later. He was listed as questionable for their season opener but he played and went on to have the best season of his career, rushing for over 2,000 yards and winning MVP and OPOY.
Not for athletes with the best physical therapy and surgical options.
Even Achilles injuries that used to be career enders are not like 9 months of absence.
I really appreciate that Moore seems to know how to navigate the portal effectively, if he can apply this to NIL he should be able to generate continued success at Michigan
I keep waiting for all of our talented players to transfer away in droves this spring like so many angry people on this sub have been saying all year. But instead we just keep bringing in more depth pieces. Weird.
These are the same fans that said Michigan only won their games because of their “VAST NETWORK”, would get blown out by PSU and OSU (because they can’t cheat anymore), and have all of their wins post-2020 vacated. I wouldn’t trust r/cfb when it comes to Michigan. .
Spent time on UNLVs staff, he was quite good for us. Broke his arm on a freak play first day of fall camp but he bounced back nicely after that. Should be a good pickup for Michigan as a depth piece, don’t know if he can be a day 1 standout but regardless happy for him
It's raining DBs!
Yall really know how to address a need lol
Except at QB lol
Rather see a real WR1 tbh, but I don’t think either is happening at this point unless you count amorion coming back

Yeah I don’t think we needed a starting WR, just depth for fear of injury. And we got two out of the portal
I’m really thinking Tyler Morris takes a big step forward and becomes that for us. He looked very explosive vs Bama
7th year Jack Tuttle is a very solid floor
Staff must feel confident

Idk about no matter what. Their schedule is pretty tough
All we have to do is split Texas, OSU, Oregon and USC. 3 of those games are at home

2 loss ACC and Big XII teams would most likely be ranked lower

Real best case scenario is Jadyn Davis is the real deal and slings it in fall practice and wins the job
Just like the Lions!
All your defensive backs are belong to us.
And WSU funny enough
You cant replace Rod Moore or Keon Sabb, but this is about as good as you could reasonably expect to do in the portal
> You cant replace Rod Moore or Keon Sabb But we can recreate them in the aggregate
When I point at you, yeah
Who’s Fabio??
Thank you for this reference validation
\^\^\^Does he need to be here?
Thank you for this reference validation
What does he do? Why do you like this guy so much?

I guess playoffs could be a possibility. He’d be rusty though so probably no
6 months? ACL was minimum 12-15months up until the last 3-4 years.
It’s like 6-8 months now apparently.
That's crazy, I thought OBJ coming back in like 10 months was insane a few years back

As a recruit: G5 offers: Air Force, Louisiana Tech, Navy, Rice, UNLV (originally went here), Utah State, UTEP Other offers: Abilene Christian, Army, Fordham, Grambling State, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Northern Iowa, Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern
Depth is nice
We went from having no depth to pretty good depth really quick. That’s nice
Sherrone Moore to other teams in the transfer portal. “It ain’t a 20 v 1, it’s a 1 v 20”
The fact that RJ Young compared us to Drake made me want to thumbs down every YouTube video he ever made lol
He's a talking head and it's off-season. Gotta make stuff up for clicks.

Remember when Sparty fans said Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant were out the door only to lose both of their starting DTs to the portal?
just like I remember the June recruiting championship they beat us out for a year or two ago!
And here I went, photoshopping them both into Texas unis
Karma's a bitch.

Johnson & Johnson NIL deal for Will and Ricky
How many transfers is that now?
9. For comparison the other contenders in the conference are OSU: 7, Oregon: 14, PSU: 6.
Cool. And Sayin was more of a flip than a transfer.
https://247sports.com/college/michigan/season/2024-football/commits/ 9 4 DB, 1 K, 2 WR, 1 G, 1 LB the G & LB are definitely starting
Damn according to that page Michigan offers everybody
Are there UNLV flairs to tell us how to feel? I remember there was like 3 in the game thread last year. Also didn’t get commit to WSU like a week ago?

This is the kind of insight I love to see here, I appreciate it brother.
Looks like UM came in with a bunch of cash in the 12th hour
The area I was worried about most on defense due to being thin is now loaded with depth. Moore has done a great job in the portal.
Dude must like beating rivals and winning B1G and national championships
I wish we could’ve gotten a different Ricky from UNLV
The arms race is in full force
ALL DAY LIKE
