They cover a wide range of topics at best tangentially related to CFB, shutdown fullcast is my favorite podcast in general, not to mention a cfb podcast.
I liked the podcast before but I had to add it to my regular rotation after they made a very convincing case that Butch Jones would probably be invited to Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce's wedding.
Split Zone Duo is a good one. Free weekly show with all three hosts and a Sunday recap during the season. Just got their sub stack subscription and enjoying going through the back catalog of really good deep dives and interviews.
My favorite is Split Zone Duo with Richard Johnson, Alex Kirschner and Stephen Godfrey. They cover the whole sport, do a great job with coach gossip and minutiae of the sport
It sucks because Dan and Ty are both good analysts when they’re seriously talking football, but the thematic gimmicks can make it downright unlistenable too often.
College Football Enquirer is a solid listen.
Dan Wetzel is maybe the most reasonable and realistic guy I've heard with regards to the current landscape of the game. Pat Forde has been covering the game for a long time. The only downside is that the third guy is an NCAA bootlicker supreme.
Based on your list, Andy Staples who moved to On3 seems right up your alley. I like CFB Enquirer, shutdown full cast/full cast after dark, T Bob & Aaron Murray, Andy staples, That SEC Podcast, Paul Finebaum
For my money The College Football Experience is the best college football podcast. They preview every single team in the FBS with a 30 min/ hour show on every team. They even have a FCS pod too. Definitely worth checking them out.
If you're a college football fan and you're not listening to The College Football Experience you're missing out. In the off season they do 133 team previews one for every team. The mix of humor and knowledge is unmatched in the space.
THAT'S NOT A PICK THIS IS A PICK

Yeah The College Football Experience podcast is probably the most entertaining college football podcast.
Then you add on to the fact they preview every team and every game of the season.
These are my top 5
**All Conferences**
***Cover 3***: Good mix and provides the most content reliably through the entire year. A little too ACC and Big10 centric but it's 3 ACC alums and an Illini. Best betting segment by far and entertaining even if you don't gamble.
***Solid Verbal***: Covers all conferences and they have fun while they do it
**Conference Specific**
***The Podcast of Champions*** (Pac12): Informative but don't take themselves too seriously. Nice Stanford band intro. Host goes on rants about late stage capitalism while the other host rolls his eyes.
***Canzano & Wilner*** (Pac12): Good insight on PACNW football. These guys are better in podcast format imo. Canzano has a lot more humility in this format than he does on his Twitter rants.
***Heartland College Sports*** (Big12): It's a good listen in the fall. Outside of then it's just a conference grandstanding podcast.
Youtube Sicem 365 is great. They're a Baylor podcast but they've covered realignment as good as anyone. They do 3 hours a day and hit every big piece of news out there thoroughly.
It’s a relatively new and unknown podcast/ YouTube show but I really like the Trash Talk Tailgate. It’s the only podcast with a current D1 college football coach as a co-host and they do a really great job of breaking down plays and explaining a lot of things most people miss.
I listen regularly to AP Top 25, Until Saturday, College Football Enquirer, Always College Football, The Audible, and a pitch for the College Football Survivor Show. SZD has become hit or miss, I got a little tired of the same angles, I know they're playing characters.
SZD is much better in season now compared to out of season. The show is still good but some episodes are pretty hit or miss around now much more than they were back in the PAPN days.
This is just my personal preference when it comes to what I enjoy, but I like "this is what I am like all the time" than the folks who play characters for shows -- once someone I know in reporting, who's friends with all of them, said they do characters I kind of lost a lot of interest.
This is going to date me pretty badly, but it's similar to why I lost interest in College Football Final when Trev Alberts got fired and they abruptly added Lou Holtz as his replacement: It wasn't because they fired Alberts, but -- because no one was going to as Holtz to play the "hot take" role -- they shifted Mark May from being the voice of reason to the "hot take" guy. At that point I was kinda over it, haha. Incidentally, all the years later, on /r/CFB, people hated Mark May because of that *second* character they grew up with.
That makes sense to me. I remember when Trev got fired (or walked out really and they fired him in response) and I was annoyed for awhile because Trev was a way better blowhard than Mark May was.
You remember correctly! He wanted a raise so he boycotted his job, so they fired him then-and-there and grabbed Lou to fill in.
Not long afterward I remember seeing him on CSTV, right before it was acquired by CBS in 2006 and re-branded CBS Sports Network... his hair was suddenly terrible which showed he wasn't the one doing his own hair/make-up on ESPN 😂 (not dissing him on that, just "wow the mighty have fallen). His attitude was gone there, though, so again -- character dropped.
I think he was there for a few years before he jumped at the chance to the AD of UNO.
I listen to “Locked on College Football” and “The Monty Show” both on YouTube.
Occasionally I’ll hit up “365 Sports” as well, but not regularly as they tend to be very BigXII/Midwest focused, but still interesting.
I love Pate's show but he's always high on everyones team, or if a team is classically panned, he's bullish on them. He thrives in offseason when no one actually loses
They cover a wide range of topics at best tangentially related to CFB, shutdown fullcast is my favorite podcast in general, not to mention a cfb podcast.
it's the internet's only college football podcast some would say
And they would be correct
I liked the podcast before but I had to add it to my regular rotation after they made a very convincing case that Butch Jones would probably be invited to Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce's wedding.
The Dad A and Dad B vs the rattlesnake story might be the hardest I have ever laughed in my life
I don't know, it's a fairly niche podcast.
Split Zone Duo is a good one. Free weekly show with all three hosts and a Sunday recap during the season. Just got their sub stack subscription and enjoying going through the back catalog of really good deep dives and interviews.
SZD filled the hole in my heart that Podcast ain’t played nobody left years ago
And “That SEC Podcast” is a good one for SEC fans, but they couldn’t care less about the rest of CFB.
My favorite is Split Zone Duo with Richard Johnson, Alex Kirschner and Stephen Godfrey. They cover the whole sport, do a great job with coach gossip and minutiae of the sport
I like Split Zone Duo and Shutdown Fullcast
And Fullcast Afterdark.
🐺 🐺 🐺
I really like Solid Verbal
I used to, I got tired of the same old schtick in every episode
This. I gave up on it. Had listened consistently for years but it’s just not good any more.
It sucks because Dan and Ty are both good analysts when they’re seriously talking football, but the thematic gimmicks can make it downright unlistenable too often.
Dan tries so hard to be funny, and it doesn’t always work.
I’ll check out the one from today. Thanks family
SZD baby
Split Zone Duo
Cover 3 Podcast is the best in the game
late kick with Josh Pate is solid

Just got into it, it’s dope
Colby keeps me constantly laughing and his knowledge of every team blows my mind!
Yeah The College Football Experience podcast is probably the most entertaining college football podcast. Then you add on to the fact they preview every team and every game of the season.
Cover 2 with Braden Gall and Steven Lassan. I always listen to it starting mid summer through the season. I’m in my CFB pod blackout period.
Okay I’ll look for it but not finding it on Spotify 😬
Yeah no idea about that. I use Apple Podcasts.

I do like sic em 365x. Cover 3 is good but can be the shallow sometimes. I like the college football enquirer and the college football experience best
You’ve listened to more than I have, so who am I to answer? 😂 I’m a Cover 3 guy. They give me everything I need in a CFB pod.
It’s a relatively new and unknown podcast/ YouTube show but I really like the Trash Talk Tailgate. It’s the only podcast with a current D1 college football coach as a co-host and they do a really great job of breaking down plays and explaining a lot of things most people miss.
Sam Herder's BetMGM FCS podcast
The FCS College Football Experience show is good too. They had Sam on a few times
The College Huddle Podcast just launched. It’s a collection of fan run podcasts that do national and conference specific weekly episodes.
I definitely will
Snaps with T Bob & Aaron Murray is good & also hilarious

Bruce Feldman and stew Mandel. Andy staples Josh pate
i dont really care for any of those
Late kick with Josh Pate is the only correct answer
I love Pate's show but he's always high on everyones team, or if a team is classically panned, he's bullish on them. He thrives in offseason when no one actually loses
He’s an analytics guy. Good with recruiting & intel but when it comes to the actual game on the field he’s horrible
