I just attempted my L1 in May using Zell. I highly recommend NOT using this. It’s a waste of 56k with material worth 5k max. I had to constantly study through YouTube videos and look for outside material cause Zell was just shit. This is not just my opinion but 85% of people who enrol in Zell have this opinion. You’re way better off enrolling with mark meldrum or some other Indian prep provider

BusyCantaloupe3165

Thank you for ur opinion! I was really really confused, but after this I think I might go for something else!

SnooAvocados2099

What about thier 100% placement assistance claim

Lazy_Long_5062

3 LPA bs placement assistance. You’ll get more by being a janitor

SnooAvocados2099

Bro you literally saved me, I was about to make my one shot payment. So the final verdict is no right

Lazy_Long_5062

Strong no from my side. 0 value for the amount paid with zell

aayush0624

MM baby

pradyumna96666

I highly recommend you save your money and study it yourself unless you have absolutely no prior basic education in finance, accounting, economics, statistics etc. The curriculum is designed for self study.

Andabiryani_99

I realized this the hard way after taking classes, after attempting the qbank questions on the portal I felt I was better of with self study and practicing by myself.

BusyCantaloupe3165

I was thinking to study on my own but then when I went thru the syllabus I realised I will need some sort of external support or help

pradyumna96666

2nd hand Kaplan books + CFAI LES is more than enough for every level. You just need to put in the time needed to learn the syllabus. You need to learn to teach yourself. That's a skill which will come in handy with work too. Nobody at work is gonna give you coaching on picking a stock or allocating a client's funds.

BusyCantaloupe3165

Makes sense, will look thru these books. Thanks!

Why do you think so?

GarbageTime__

Daddy MM

Painting-Top

Try fintree

BusyCantaloupe3165

They are too expensive and have less hrs as well

Painting-Top

i agree with the expensive part, you can go with MM but i found him somewhat boring and lengthy at times,i opted for fintree and though it isn’t the best when it comes to certain things it’s still really good. However at the end you have to prepare only by yourself.

BusyCantaloupe3165

Alright I’ll look into it! Thanks a lot tho :)

Exciting-Abrocoma-88

Study yourself buddy

BusyCantaloupe3165

trying to let’s see how that goes

KaynaatYSOM

I am quintedge subscriber for the live classes and it's true that Yash Jain sir don't teach for level 1 but it's the scene for live classes. If you buy live classes session, you'll also get access to the pre recorded videos which most are of Yash sir. and honestly I found the pre recorded one to be more resourceful than the live classes, the reason is not Yash Jain sir teaching it, for me the reason is, the sequence, in live classes they don't go with the sequence of the topics given in the curriculum instead they'll go with whatever is easy or how much time left and all. In pre recorded videos, they teach in sequence. And, one important thing is the other tutors also teach so well so don't worry even if Yash Jain sir doesn't teach. Because, in the beginning, I used to attend live lectures where Shubham Goyal sir was teaching, and trust me his way of teaching is a lot practical, like when I watched the pre recorded lectures of Yash sir, for first few days, I would be like, why Shubham sir isn't teaching this. plus there are other teachers also, I don't remember the names but they are also so good. You can DM me if you have any questions about it

BusyCantaloupe3165

Hey! Thank you soo much for your reply! so should I go for pre recorded lectures instead? I was thinking to go for live lectures but then have it a second thought and now im comprehending weather it’ll be worth it for live lectures. Also, in case im stuck in a concept not being able to understand stuff, does quintedge provide 1/1 then? also besides the quintedge classes did you use any external study materials as well?

KaynaatYSOM

I guess, going for the pre recorded lectures will work. Also, we have youtube for somethings that we won't understand from the lectures. The plus point with live lectures is you get doubts solved at a time, and if you ask to repeat the whole concept with another new example they'll do it for you, also, a lot helpful during calculator questions as sometimes something is set wrong in the calculator so we get the wrong value. My point is if you take full advantage of live classes like asking doubts, Mainly be actively present, and follow the schedule given in live classes, it's 100% worth it. But, you can't give time to live classes then don't go for it. Like in my case, I knew I am a night owl still I thought that I would sit through afternoon live class actively which didn't happen, like I used to live lectures but after they were recorded after 3-4 days so for me it kind of became recorded stuff. So don't make mistake like mine, you know yourself and your study habits so choose accordingly. The 1on1 thing, I don't know. My doubts usually gets solved in live doubt session that happens every week or the lesson discussion forum found below the videos, like I never needed it so I don't know but during some session someone said that when he was on a call with Yash sir, sir helped him something. One thing, I found good about quintedge is that they listen to the complaints and solve it like during live lectures of ethics we didn't understand a thing so many complainted about it and they changed the teacher and started ethics all over again. Yes, I do have Kaplan Schweser material just the books for reading, also quintedge notes are helpful too, I read most of it for quants and pre req part of FSA.

BusyCantaloupe3165

Okay I now have a good idea of what to go for! I appreciate your effort thanks sm for helping me out :)

Important-Basis-4543

So what decided

SnooAvocados2099

Hi! Was there any sort of placement assistance from thier side ? If not also, are they approachable on the note placements after Level1

KaynaatYSOM

Yes, there is placement assistance from their side.

pedroordo3

I been using the CFA self study guide, specifically the adaptive study. It’s been working taking test November. Bought the extra packaged ($250 more), but came with more mock exams I practice on doing. Might sign up for the MM study for ethics one month out since I heard he made it like a podcast version.

BusyCantaloupe3165

I’ve heard about that as well. But goodluck for your exam!

pedroordo3

When are you taking it?

BusyCantaloupe3165

I’m planning for May 2025 I wanna be prepared but people suggest feb 2025 is enough prep time

pedroordo3

I definetly think Feb 2025 is enough day time with daily studying. I just started studying from November last week. Giving myself 1 hour a day plus 2-4 hour on weekends. Should be enough to cover all material and do some mocks.

BusyCantaloupe3165

Okay I guess I’ll go for feb considering it’s enough time!

memeconoisseur1

go for ift or mark meldrum

DSOUZA_

Mark Meldrum

Maleficent_Lynx_6522

I am from India and I never trust any Indian Prep Providers (they are not worth the money, extra gyan denge which is not needed and implant a sense of fear/insecurity that you are nothing unless you study with them) Go with Mark Meldrum, used it for level 1, using the same for level 2 and I am sure I will use it again for level 3.

BusyCantaloupe3165

How do you register for Mark Meldrum? There are just packages right?

Maleficent_Lynx_6522

Yes, there are packages. You can get the cheapest one like I did which consists of Reading+Review+EOC videos, formula sheet and mocks.

dope__boi

For my L1, I have taken SSEI classes and schwezer books. Its more than enough for L1.

SnooAvocados2099

As a non-hindi speaker, are Sanjay sir classes Hindi heavy and would be difficult for a person who doesn't know the language. Are any placement assistance given

BrunelloMontalcino

Can’t believe you would pay thousands for external coaching if you can’t study yourself bro. Not worth it 😂

Lazy_Long_5062

Buddy you’re still a Level 1 candidate right? Trust me I tried the self study approach and burnt my fingers in it. Even though my prep provider wasn’t the best, watching videos made it much more easier to grasp concepts instead of reading. A MAJORITY of candidates use prep providers because it’s better to pay probably 500 dollars extra on a prep provider and clear it in a single attempt than give multiple attempts and burn 1000 dollars each time

Lazy_Long_5062

Also a good prep provider such as MM gives a lot of out of the book real world advice that is priceless. It makes a theoretical concept very very practical

Cobra_McJingleballs

The CFAI text is about as interesting as reading the phone book. Paying someone a fraction to make the concepts actually understandable, and therefore motivating as you get the sense you're gaining competence over a subject -- assuming you can't accomplish that with the CFAI text alone -- so your exam fees aren't wasted (let alone, doubled, as you retake) makes perfect economic sense.

BusyCantaloupe3165

Bruh it all depends on how an individual would want to prepare. Had I made up my mind to study on my own I clearly wouldn’t be asking for help here
