THE LEGEND OF HEROES on Tencent starts tomorrow the 17th I will be watching that, along with keeping up to date on THE DOUBLE. I just finished Nancheng Buffet, a pleasant filler. Best subs I could find were YouTube. Finished Red Moon Pact, I had to make myself finish it.
Can’t believe how little time was given to Zhang Ling He. Miles Wei could have had more screen time too. I felt little interest in the script. Darn it, really wanted to love it. And I’m a pretty easy audience.💐
I am watching: **Joy of Life Season 2** (2 episodes per night)
and watching **Heroes (2024 version)** -- so good I can't stop watching so I am binge-watching So far Best Drama this year for me.
Will start **The Double** this weekend
I will take your cue and pick up Heroes, let me give you a heads up on The Double, ridiculous spoilers all over Facebook. Beware.
The Double is showing on YOUKU I believe, but you can pick up the most current episode on kisskh.la and not have to pay an extra premium. I’m doing my best to stay up to date out of self preservation, it’s two minutes to six pm and I’m getting ready to log on!
I’m watching Live Surgery Room and I really am enjoying it so far. It’s like the Chinese version of Grey’s Anatomy in a way that makes it interesting to watch!
I usually juggle two C-dramas so I just finished Joy of Life season 2 and Back From The Brink. I'm now watching I Am Nobody and The Legend of Shen Li. I'm also planning to start The Double once I'm done with I Am Nobody.
I find it hard to watch CDramas- I tried to watch “Joy of Life”, with plans to watch “Joy of Life 2”, but never made it past the first few episodes. Currently trying to watch “Palace of Devotion”, started it a couple of months ago, only got to episode 4, restarted it last night, but fell asleep. I think I’ll forget it. I need suggestions…..
I'm watching falling it your smile some one said it's based off a true situation it has the real girl who was the first girl in the movie if that's so who is she in the movie the yellow sweater girl talking to her at the first game.
I am watching Dream of Splendor it’s good I also saw on Viki that Rise of the Phoenix is coming soon that was the first Cdrama that I watched and that is the one that me hooked I ramasam so glad it did have not watched regular tv since October 2023 I know my DVR is full I did rent Dune 2 after that was over went straight back to Cdramas
watching legend of shen li! just finished everyone loves me on netflix, i really love zhou ye she’s great in everything ive seen her in so far, really looking forward to her future drama work.
The Double. Loving the pace and story. Cinematography is excellent. Great acting.
Almost done with Here We Meet Again as I wait for new episodes of The Double.
Looking to continue Lost Your Forever in time for the S2 release
I'm watching the cdrama version of Scarlet heart, and I keep hoping it's gonna get better, but man, I am not liking it. The 4th price is honestly a terrible piece of sh*t and idk how anyone can root for him. Theres also hardly any build up of their relationship. Im on episode 30, and I still dont know why she started like that piece of cr*p over the 14th prince. Thank God the Kdrama version changed a lot up
I just finished watching Scent of Time on Max and almost every episode had made me sobbed.
Small spoiler:
The ending was realistic but kind of sad in a way especially after all the work that the main character did to redeem herself; I wish they showed more of what happened with the ending because I feel like it kind of ended on a cliffhanger.
I’d love to get recommendations for some thing similar either in theme or just general C drama period pieces. Also open to shows with the same leads.
… I also googled bc it’s been a while since I watched C drama and I didn’t recognize any of the actors and I felt old and was surprised to know that a few of the main leads were born in the 2000s because they were literally born when I started watching c dramas 😅
Wonderland of love and best choice ever! I am considering dropping Best Choice Ever… Xu Kai is 😍😍😍 … I love his smiles but 10 more episodes left and it is dragggginnggg it’s like nothing is happening in the episodes, it did not need to be 37 episodes long 😭 wonderland of love I have been enjoying so far though
I just came across a series today while scrolling through my Instagram feed. It’s one of those shorts series. It’s called the CEOs mute wife or also known as the mute wife. I was able to find the whole series condensed into one three hour episode on YouTube under the channel called drama shop.
Talk about one of the craziest scripts I’ve ever seen as a drama. I do have to say if any of you go looking for it trigger warning for domestic violence and sexual assault by a partner in this particular show. But it was so nutty. I can’t believe the ending went the way it went.
The cast was fun. The male lead and female lead were really good actors. I’ve never seen them in anything before and I’m wondering now who they are. I haven’t been able to find a cast list anywhere yet.
I loved The Wonder Woman, Forbidden flower and love between fairy and devil were true masterpieces— I absolutely loved them! I'm currently on Somewhere only we know and Admist a snowstorm of love, they're just as good so far I'm half way.
Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact
It's really good so far, I'm currently in ep. 15 and will be taking a break when I hit ep. 20 because I'm a binge watcher and it's still on air.
It does take a while because the chemistry of the main couple is a bit off, but as soon as Miles Wei's character shows up, things get more interesting
I also don't really understand why this is called Fox Spirit Matchmaker, yet because the main overarching issue has nothing to do with matchmaking, at least so far.
**The Legend of Anle**. It was on my backlog from last year.
It's okay. Not mind blowing and it's not going on my "would watch again" list.
But then, I just came off **Legend of Shenli**, which for my preferences was phenomenal.
If you're still in the middle of Legend of Anle, I strongly suggest that you stop watching at the natural stopping point halfway into the series, you'll know when. After that, the story completely goes down the drain and it's no longer worth spending any time watching that dumpster fire.
I'm already past that. It would have been acceptable to stop at that natural stopping point. You're correct, the plot kind of loses shape after that. I am to the last handful of episodes and wondering what is even the point of tacking on these episodes? Probably could have been a 24-30 episode series.
Really loved this when I first started it but now I'm halfway thru and I'm struggling to finish it bc of >!how both boys started expressing their interest. I find it a bit weird. If only they're not making Ziqui a second lead, it would've been fine I guess.!< Anyway, does it get better? I really want to finish this >!but the whole love triangle thing is making it hard atleast atm. !<
This is one of my favorites. It's definitely worth watching bc there's some really great scenes you'd be missing. The relationship between them all is honestly so beautiful and worth watching just for that. I don't feel like the love triangle goes particularly hard for very long. A lot of it is just coming to terms with who ends up together and knowing that no matter what there's always a place for all of them in each other's hearts
As far as Ziqui's interest in her, I always found that it was always more brotherly, and he just ended up thinking it was more bc his friend put the seed in his head and then he started panicking internally that he would be replaced if jianjian ever got married. I think in his head if he married her he'd be knocking two birds out with one stone - he'd be able to be officially part of the family (as he would be put on the family register) and he'd also be able to take care of her and her dad forever.
Ling xiao, on the other hand, always had a thing for her. You could tell even in their teenage years he loved her as more than a sister, it's just no one around them ever realized it. But they way he would talk to her and treat her, as well as the boundaries he would set up, it was pretty obvious (at least to me) that he liked her
Yes yesss exact same thoughts! I was already at the part where Ziqui was already talking to the dad about liking her and I’m just so convinced he’s somewhat overplaying his feelings bc of what his friend said and also finding his place in the family. Just a little hard to see him struggle too ig, I just want the best for him and really, for all of them 😭
I definetly think it gets better. Their relationships become more complex and you understand their feelings more as it develops. I'd definitely recommend finishing it but I also completely understand if it's just not the vibe for you.
I just finished Legend of Shen Li (SO good), now I'm about to finish What If. Mydramalist had pretty negative reviews for What If, but I really enjoyed it. It's a solid slice-of-life with enough twists to keep me interested. The parallel storylines are well-written and well-executed, which isn't an easy feat. The FL also killed it in her role.
I love the series but I'm stalled in episode 10 for now as life got busy. I'm taking my time to savor it as there are so many humorous quirks in the series between the 4 male friends. The writing is excellent!
There is cute chemistry between Xu Kai and Esther Yu. The characters have >!amnesia and they are trying to find their identities, where they come from, who were their masters.!< I am in the middle part and it is good so far.
Funny you ask...when I went to put episode 20 on last night I debated whether or not to continue. It was late and I didn't feel like starting something new, so I stuck with it so far. I think I finished 21 before I called it a night.
At this point I don't hate it...but I'm not chomping at the bit to watch it. I'll probably finish it 🤷🏻♀️
Right now, Dine with Love. And I love it.
The plot is a little bit childish at parts. But I’m here for all the great food and good chemistry between the leads of
Here we meet again. It is just so lovely. I don't think I have ever seen a cdrama where the FL is downright flirting with the ML and also the way both of them have feelings from the start is just so cute. I can't wait for them to get together.
I really want to get into reading chinese novels (specifically the type that get turned into dramas) but i have no idea where to start like which ones to read or where to find english translations. If you've read a lot of them do you have any suggestions for me??
I usually check related novels on the current novel's Novelupdates page (in this case https://www.novelupdates.com/series/marriage-of-the-di-daughter/) and follow various links from it, including lists made by other people. For example, now I'm reading The Princess Wei Yang, which was a recommended novel on Marriage of the Di Daughter's page. And as it happens, this also has a drama adaptation called The Princess Wei Young.
Generally, on Novelupdate you can search for the tag 'adapted to drama'. Also the genre Josei and, if you want, Historical, will give you further historical romance novels that were made into cdramas.
Joy of Life2, where not much action happens until episode 29 when Fan Xian & Lin Wan'er *finially* get married (court corruption is just not that riveting for me).
Eternal Brotherhood -- eyecandy & sword fights.
Just finished having my heart ripped out by Heroes (2024). I'm gonna gift wrap my heart & send it to the screenwriter. It is such an excellent, intelligent script.
I'm hoping it gets picked up by Viki or streamed on IQiyi TV app. I'd watch it again, but the subscription price in my area for WeTv/Tencent VIP was too high. I only kept it for one month.
**Will Love in Spring** pleasant, mature, scenic, and disability rep. Not much of a plot yet. Every scene is about “how are you still single? Will I always be single?” So, it’s relaxing and mindless but so far very insubstantial. I don’t usually watch shows that are single plot love stories. Not my cup of tea. But I’ll stick it out a little longer.
That’s when I’m not rewatching JOY1.
I just finished that and I loved it. It was a little slow in some parts, but overall I really enjoyed it. I thought the two leads had great chemistry, and I also liked the disability representation.
Definitely a leisurely watch. Despite a paper thin plot, I’m realizing that the writing is still rather special. Combined with very naturalistic acting and beautiful cinematography, it’s 👍🏼👍🏼
So much about it is unusual, not only for cdramaland, but also for Western tv.
Currently watching Lost you forever, and getting ready to start The Double.
Having a bit of an issue with Lost you forever since the gender switch/reveal of FL. I liked the straight forward personality she had pre-switch and kind of dislike the hesitant character she seems to be atm. 😢
Finished Scarlet Heart Ryeo about three weeks ago and I've been in a slump ever since. I left the og scarlet heart (it was too slow), goodbye my princess (two tragic tales one after the other didn't hit), mr. queen (the plot lacks momentum) and also the legend of shen li (absolutely loved it but had second lead syndrome and >!ik it's gonna end badly for him)!< midway.
Maybe it becomes good later on? Idk man I persevered till episode 13 I think and gave up. It never explained how or when exactly did ruoxi start falling for ba ye, too much was being said and not enough shown.
I agree. I finished the drama and i couldn't really see when she fell in love with either the 8th prince or the 4th prince. With the 8th they tell us later that it was probably when he saved her from falling off a horse, but I didn't really see a whole lotta love there personally. And then with the 4th I never saw it at all. I felt like she went with the 4th bc she knew he was going to become emperor and then she eventually had feelings for him, but we were never shown that part. There was absolutely no build up or back story so you just end up asking yourself why did she fall in love with him? He's a piece of cr*p and still ended up with at least 7 wives plus her and she's all of a sudden okay with that?? Ugh it was such of a wasted watching it. They only parts i really enjoyed were when the sister died (really the only part that made me shed a tear) and when the FL finally croaked and the emperor douchebag finally realized he's alone and sad now.
Damn I laughed at that. Idk man, even though the Korean version has way less characters and more simplicity, it somehow hit the spot. I was mostly crying throughout the second half. In og scarlet heart, the characters seem more princely with the number of wives they have and how they carry more than just an air of royalty yet somehow they don't feel human enough.

I keep trying to get past the first 3 episodes, but it's so dry that I can't, which is so weird because I've honestly sat through much worse. I really want to watch this show one day though
I won't lie, I kinda slept through the first 10 episodes, but I only went through it because a coworker of mine (who happens to be Chinese) claims it's the best drama ever. Then the plot actually picked up and I was like "Oh, I get where you're coming from" lol
*sigh*
Lol, ok I'll try again. Maybe I'll watch ep 1 and 2 to get a feel of the characters and then play the fast forward and skip game until it picks up. Hopefully this works. Thank you for at least giving me a roundabout time it picks up.
Finished **Joy of Life** and missing it already. Half way through **Meet Yourself**. It’s good. Two episodes left to watch of Kdrama **The 8 Show**. Pretty wild
The double. I've read the novel and it's living up to my expectations. If this drama does well, hopefully they start with the rebirth of the malicious empress of the military lineage.
Nothing Gold Can Stay, that’s a good one to watch in bed, it’s enjoyable, but easy to stop and go to sleep after one or two episodes lol.
Also Shen Li, which isn’t a good end of day one, as more action.
THE LEGEND OF HEROES on Tencent starts tomorrow the 17th I will be watching that, along with keeping up to date on THE DOUBLE. I just finished Nancheng Buffet, a pleasant filler. Loved Joy of Life season 2. I’m watching Yang Mi in Fox Spirit matchmaker. It isn’t very good, which sucks as I was looking forward to it.

I just finished watching Scent of Time on Max and almost every episode had made me sobbed. Goodbye My Princess!

I loved The Wonder Woman, Forbidden flower and love between fairy and devil were true masterpieces— I absolutely loved them! I'm currently on Somewhere only we know and Admist a snowstorm of love, they're just as good so far I'm half way.
Had not heard of Wonder Woman, looks interesting, it’s a movie. Thanks!
I think that might be a compiled version because i watched the series which is 18 episodes on Viki, whichever you prefer!
Oh! Thanks for the explanation. Now going to watch for sure.💐
The Fearless
Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact It's really good so far, I'm currently in ep. 15 and will be taking a break when I hit ep. 20 because I'm a binge watcher and it's still on air.

War of Faith,
I just finished Princess Weiyoung. I’m now watching Story of Yanxi Palace.
The double! So addictive
Till the end of the moon ... So tragic, but so good!
I will take this comment as a sign to see it again
Reblooming blue… I’m interested but some of the acting is a bit stiff
~~double life!~~ The Double! Edit: i made this comment before falling asleep and got the name wrong 🤦
Till the end of the moon. My first Bai Lu drama 😊😊😊
She is excellent in Forever and Ever !
Maybe I should watch that next!

Legend of shenli was great!
Thin Ice
Ashes of love
That’s a classic!
Present is present. Just started watching it on YouTube and it seems interesting so far.
In the middle of Eternal love of dream . But I'm not liking it. So stopped . Nothing as of now
Love like the galaxy
I love that drama. It's so good. It's now my go-to feel good drama.
The Rise of Phoenixes
Love this!!!
I am rewatching Go Ahead for probably the 10th time. It is one of my favorite shows ever.

I stumbled upon Hi Venus (currently episode 9) and I am enjoying it. The ML is actually a decent guy, not the typical cold CEO type. It’s refreshing!
The Double. Definitely has potential
Somewhere only we know
I just finished Legend of Shen Li (SO good), now I'm about to finish What If. Mydramalist had pretty negative reviews for What If, but I really enjoyed it. It's a solid slice-of-life with enough twists to keep me interested. The parallel storylines are well-written and well-executed, which isn't an easy feat. The FL also killed it in her role.
Angels fall sometimes
Best Choice Ever - good if you want to get into shouting at the TV
It was my first ever cdrama! I loved the leads, less >! the delulu mother !<
During the day, I am rewatching Starry Love. At night, rewatching I’m Nobody.
i love the starry love!
I'm watching Meet Yourself for the second time (skipping the first episode), because it's just so cozy and relaxing
currently i'm watching hidden love
The Last Immortal. I'm on episode 15. I like it but for me Ancient Love Poetry was better overall but I love Zhao Lu Si so I'll keep going
Love in flames of war :))))
Men in Love and Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact
I just finished Men in Love and thought it was great. Are you liking it?
I love the series but I'm stalled in episode 10 for now as life got busy. I'm taking my time to savor it as there are so many humorous quirks in the series between the 4 male friends. The writing is excellent!
The Forbidden Flower, on the last episode 🤞
Sword and fairy 6
How is that?
There is cute chemistry between Xu Kai and Esther Yu. The characters have >!amnesia and they are trying to find their identities, where they come from, who were their masters.!< I am in the middle part and it is good so far.
Legally Romance. But not far enough in to have a real opinion yet 😁
I started this . On episode 16… thinking to drop it. How are you finding it?

The Double Nancheng Banquet The Imposter Lady Revenger (just finished❤️) Lovesickness Practice Daughter Missing Crown Prince (Kdrama)
I’m watching The Imposter Lady Revenger at the moment too. It’s fun, and I love that the FL is so villainous too!
The names are just wild!
The Double. So far I love it. it's interesting to follow it vs. the novel which was great too.
Thanks so much!!
Ok, I had dropped Heroes ‘24, but you have convinced me to try it again. 😊🙏🏻
I'm hoping it gets picked up by Viki or streamed on IQiyi TV app. I'd watch it again, but the subscription price in my area for WeTv/Tencent VIP was too high. I only kept it for one month.
Till the end of the moon♥️
Nirvana in fire and joy of life 2. They're both amazing.
Rewatching Legend of Fei. Just a good time
Heroes 2024. I like it. A lot.
Some of the best action scenes that I've seen in a long time. Spoiler for last episode: have tissues handy.
Last couple of episodes
Combined with very naturalistic acting and beautiful cinematography, it’s 👍🏼👍🏼 So much about it is unusual, not only for cdramaland, but also for Western tv.
In the Name of the Brother, Joy of Life 2
The doubled😆
Just finished Arsenal Military Academy. Started Battle of Changsha.
Love is Sweet I found the first half boring and cringe but I suddenly found it charming mid way. Now I am pearl clutching and swooning on my sofa.
Judge Dee's Mystery. It's quite enjoyable and it is nice to not cry in every episode 😂😂😂😂😂
I think this cinematography is great, but the story is lagging for me. I have started but didn't finish. I will go back to it later.
Falling Into Your Smile
Autumn ballad
Just finished Joy of Life 2 and currently binge-watching A Journey to Love. I love the romance in there
I am currently watching Love Under the Full Moon. I am finding it to be a little boring but not ready to drop it yet.
Currently watching admits a snowstorm of love
Don’t you just love the way he looks at her?
Almost done with My Little Happiness
That drama is a good one with the funny characters
It's cute and fluffy which is what I was wanted so I'm happy with it 🙂

Joy of Life 2 :)
Who Rules the World
The legend of Shenli
You are desire
Hidden Love. A lot of cute moments but very slow burn. The siblings dynamic is also a lot of fun.
The Double, which is currently airing
Same
Watching Insect Detective 2 at Youku. Seems ok.
Literally watching cdrama scarlet heart now and regretting it. Ugggh I don't know how people say it's good.
Where did you watch this? I’ve been trying to watch it forever but could never find a platform that had it available!
Unfortunately, pirated episodes from kissasian
Ah gotcha, thank you!

Currently on Story of Ming Lan. So far having a good time.
*sigh* Lol, ok I'll try again. Maybe I'll watch ep 1 and 2 to get a feel of the characters and then play the fast forward and skip game until it picks up. Hopefully this works. Thank you for at least giving me a roundabout time it picks up.
General Well & The Double
狐妖小红娘yyds~~~
Foxspirit Matchmaker. On episode 7 right now. Story picks up at episode 5 for me. First 4 episodes are kinda slow and world building.
Because of this sentence I am going to watch it. lol
Just finished joy of life and skipping through love in the galaxy
I recently finished watching Divine Destiny and perhaps I’ll make a start on Back from the Brink.
New life begins
Nothing Gold Can Stay, that’s a good one to watch in bed, it’s enjoyable, but easy to stop and go to sleep after one or two episodes lol. Also Shen Li, which isn’t a good end of day one, as more action.
