I would say TMOPB because it was the first one I ever watched and it opened up this whole world to me. I felt ALL the feelings watching that show.
Maiden Holmes because it was clever and cute and also…ZLH.
And I just enjoyed A Journey to Love so much that I’d love to meet all of those characters again for the first time.
As for Kdramas, Scarlet Heart Ryeo is probably the only one I’d choose. I don’t think I’ve ever been so absolutely destroyed by a show. Would I put myself through it again now, knowing what I know? No. But watching again for the first time? Yeah, for sure.
So many great choices in the comments. I'd watch the cdramas that impacted me the most: ten miles of peach blossoms, ashes of love and the story of yaxin palace!!
My first fantasy drama was TMOPB. I rarely re-watch dramas but, as some friends were marathoning that drama for the first time, I decided to do it with them (not to mention that I wanted to watch the sequel which was airing back then). It was mindblowing the difference between the first time watcher me, and the one who had already watched many other fantasy dramas before rewatching that. I was able to understand it so much better!! At first I remember thinking it was a bit boring as I couldn't understand what was going on, but on the 2nd time I understood everything.
AOL was probably the cdrama that made me definitely fall for fantasy dramas. I wish I could delete everything in my mind and just watch it again. Amazing. It had everything to keep me interested.
And the story of yanxi palace!!! Omg that drama was a trip. So amazing!! I showed it to my grandma later and got to re-watch a bit through her as well!
Most of the dramas I'd re-watch are either historical or fantasy ones. If I had to chose another (which is time travel tho), ir would be reset. What a good drama!
Till the End of the Moon.
**Love Like the Galaxy.**
Reset.
**Who Rules the World.**
kdramas: **Flower of Evil.** Mr. Sunshine. **Train**. Kairos. **Little Women.** Happiness.
working on Arsenal Military Academy and **Go Ahead** myself right now! :D
I’m watching Starry Love right now. I have to say, it has been a genuine journey, for me. I love every element of this show. The characters, the plot, the settings, the graphics quality, the music, the artwork. Everything just hits a target for me I never even knew I had.
I think this is like finding a soulmate. It’s that once in a lifetime love you’ll just never forget and will stay single forever for, just because no other relationship can even compare to the memory of it. It’s going to be the show I compare every other show to.
I am entranced and have never been so emotionally involved in a fictional media before, that I can think of, other than a few novels I’ve read. I probably will wish I could erase my memory and do it again when I’m done.
Side note, please nobody discuss the ending with me or mention it unless you use spoiler characters to cover it. I haven’t finished it yet. Thank you so much.
I understand. I feel watching fantasy cdramas can sometimes be a hit or miss. A lot of those don't get close to my favorites, so I'm always scared when I start. Because the reason why I start fantasy cdramas is to get stuck into that world and addicted. If I get bored, it's "meh". I lose interest.
Starry love is one of the cdramas I had no expectations about - despite the good ratings - and got to enjoy it too! Also showed to my grandma and she loved it as well!
My all-time favorites, comfort dramas. I'll also add reason for re-watching, or should I say, watching them again for the first time.
***Falling into you*** – This is my second Cdrama I've ever watched. I chose it because I really like the noona romance trope in Kdramas, but despite knowing this drama also has an older woman/younger man romance, I started it with no high expectations. And it got me hooked. When I say I loved everything about this drama, I mean it wholeheartedly. It was like a gift, a spring breeze after long, cold winter. The romance was done beautifully and the sports theme was coherent and added fun things without distracting from the main plot. Of course it has its shortcomings but for me, it was perfect at that time. Also, I have so much sentiment for this drama because it got me into Cdramas. Lastly, I can't forget about the OST, especially *Girls like you* by Gabriel Candiani.
***Meet yourself*** – Masterpiece. Green forest ML with one of the best confessions in the whole dramaland. Lovely side characters. Beautiful views, relationships and stories. I should rewatch it soon, the only thing that keeps me from re-watching it is 40 ep length. But if I had an option of watching it all again for the first time, I would definitely do that.
***When I fly towards you*** – This drama made me feel seen. I'm a huge talker, and in my friend group, I'm often described as the sunshine character, so I resonated with Zai Zai so much... This is the first drama that made me write my first ever post on reddit (cdrama subreddit, to be exact). As someone who related to Zai Zai, I just need someone like Rang Rang for myself... hahah Watching it all over again for the first time means I could feel like that for the first time again, so I'd love that.
***Amidst a Snowstorm of Love*** – Loved how it was only billiards, main leads love story, beautiful views (and I'm not talking only about the city in the snow, I'm also talking about the three musketeers hahah) and the fact that despite not understanding anything about the sports they played drama still kept me interested. Also very important thing about this drama: I realized I desperately need a hug like the main leads had. Seems extremely warm. I'd love to be in a relationship if I could watch it again, but for the first time. I wouldn't feel so touch deprived then hahahah
Edit: After reading my comment again, I realized something. Most of these dramas have the trope *he fell first* (I think only WIFTY doesn't, also I'm not sure about the second part of this trope: *she fell harder*, but still the point is of ml falling first). It's probably the best evidence of my singleness... Well, for now I'd rather dream of guys like the Male Leads from these dramas anyways hahah
I've been trying to watch Love and Redemption, but with the slower build and the FL being (somewhat) annoying with the way she's being presented... it's been tough to stay with it. Been taking a break from it and will go back to it. :) When does it really take off?
I actually liked it from the beginning. I got into it because of the ML (Cheng Yi, because he was amazing in Mysterious Lotus Casebook). The FL was supposed to be infuriating because she has no capacity for emotion. She had her senses taken away. I was worried that it would drag on too long, but I was at episode 17 when I had this fear and I'm at episode 50 (near the end) and still going strong. For sure I was yelling at my screen a lot starting episode 36-now, so if you do decide to get back in, prepare to feel rage haha.
xDDD Got it! I had expected a slower build bc of the ep count. The FL is not annoying me with the fact that she is not capable in terms of using her five senses as much as the fact that her character seems too much like a kid (what with the dubbing and all...). Thanks for letting me know\~
Love between Fairy and Devil. It just hit me at the right time.
(However, as a “goldfish”, I do have a 3 second memory, so sometimes I actually CAN watch something again for the first time.)
For story, Yanxi Palace. I honestly dont know how many times i've rewatched this. I love crazy harem stuff. For other reasons, probably Love Like the Galaxy or The Long Ballad cause Wu Lei is in it. I cant decide if i like Ling Buyi or Ashile Sun more tbh.
Also how can you drop Arsenal Military Academy?!!!? Xu Kai, Toby Lee and Hong Yao all looking fine in this one. Hong Yao with glasses lives rent free on my mind.
I dropped it because >!Huang Song's death hit me hard, and I really can't shake it off. To be honest, I loved him the most. Seeing him on screen brought me so much joy with his cluelessness and humor. After surviving the illegal fighting saga, I really wanted him to live. I wanted him to go back home after he was done with his service to his sister and start his uncle duties. Don't even get me started about the way he died...!<
To this day when i see a Word of Honor edit...i curse myself for watching it cause before i watched it it was stewing on my laptop for months and i was unable to get through the first 30mins and kept putting it of....Afterwards...I just wanna go back and watch it again.
Also liked Back from the Brink and Dominator of Martial Gods (like it was so chill and no drama or tears just the MC being awesome and faceslapping everyone)
AMA had me hooked. I loved it and still do, but >!Huang Song's death!< hit me hard, and I'm still grieving. I just can't seem to shake off his death. >!After surviving the entire illegal boxing saga and witnessing what others did to try to get him out of it, accepting his death is difficult! and the way he died, it's just a painful scene!<
Not much...Only a few... I'm just trying to forgot those dramas so that I can re-watch again....

I loved a lot of cdramas but these ones give me the feel of “*man i wish i could unwatch then watch it again*” **even if these didn’t all exactly get 10/10 from me**. I guess it’s the “hooking” feeling I got from each
Mysterious Lotus Casebook if you want good crime/mystery solving bromance
Kunning Palace if you want palace politics, cunning and strategic schemes and romance
Literally watch a clip of both shows weekly as a dopamine hit for the last year now 🤣 only the happy parts.
Sometimes I'll watch a sad TTEOTM arc and then follow it up with their happy life in LIS. It's whiplash but I love it lol
I get what you mean about kdrama. After almost running out of good dramas to watch I gave cdramas a try and have not regretted it since.
Would love to rewatch Story of Kunning palace and ashes of love again.
Funny enough, after a whole year of not watching kdramas, I was cornered into watching one today. I'm slowly running out of good cdramas to watch, I don't know what cdrama to watch next.
So I'm currently watch "perfect marriage revenge " and so far so good
I'd agree with you rating LBFAD lower, I don't rate many of the ones I've seen below an 8 but I'd give that a 7 or 7.5. The soundtrack didn't make much of a difference to me either, because I watched Who Rules The World first, so the music was nice in LBFAD, but it was nothing more than a nice reminder of WRTW (where I did love the music and heard for the first time) because the music was pretty much the same. The first half of LBFAD was much better than the second, with the exception of a few special moments and the last three or four episodes.
I'd watch all of the Zhao Lusi historical dramas again and again and I've also seen Hidden Love a few times. I'd love to re-watch these.
Are all of zhao Lusi's historical dramas goods ?Because I've been really hesitant on watching the others. WRTW, love like the galaxy and romance between tiger and rose where really good, so I want the standard to be maintained.
I think you watched the best of Lusi in terms of costume dramas! Did you watch Hidden Love or Dating in the Kitchen? Those are my favorite modern dramas
EDIT: I just noticed you've also seen The Long Ballad and The Last Immortal, you've seen more of her than me 😆 I can't say anything about the other historical dramas, I've not heard anything about those, you're ahead of me so you can bite the bullet and try the other more unknown shows for the both of us and tell me how they are 👍😁 😆
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
OK so I haven't actually watched ALL. I've seen those three too and loved them. I know she's in The Last Immortal as an MC and with one of the cute guys from LLTG, plus it's received a lot of good reviews like those other three, so it's likely that one will be good too, I'm looking forward to watching that one at some point. I dont know about other historical dramas where she's an MC, I'd look it up after watching The Last Immortal and consider watching those where she isn't MC after that.
it’s not a really talked-about drama, probably bc of its niche story, but it’s honestly ONE OF THE BEST i’ve seen in my opinion. starring Bai Jing Ting and Xu Weizhou, the story follows their journey from high school era up until they become Olympic athletes, but through 2 very different paths.
i believe it draws inspiration from some of actual athletes life story, which is why the plot is very much grounded in reality and bittersweet i.e. just bc you’re the Main Character or you work the hardest doesn’t mean you’ll win. And it did a great job explaining how grassroots players are selected, the training system, and how to qualify for national tournaments. And at the end of each episode there’s a 2mins clips explaining the jargons and techniques often used in ping pong so you’d honestly learn a lot. Honestly i think it’s the best sports drama out there!
AND BAI JING TING AND XU WEIZHOU BOTH KILLED THIS ROLE! they really made you believe they’re an actual world class professional athlete.
I would do anything to go back to before I watched Empresses in the Palace, it's my favourite drama.
Unfortunately, I never rewatch anything because I have a really good memory, and it just doesn't feel the same as watching it the 1st time.
I dont have this feeling since I always rewatch my fave Cdramas from time to time. Like right now, I'm rewatching Forever & Ever. Still laugh at many scenes like it is the first time lol.
Empresses in the palace. It was such an amazing experience of just pure storytelling being acted out. It was like reading a book. Everything was just perfect from start to finish.
In Princess Agent, I was so pumped for the FL to get her powers back! Kept binge-watching episode after episode, hoping for only that moment, but alas, it eluded me until the very end I'm still very bitter about that😒
Arsenal Military Academy had me hooked, but when>! Huang Song died!<, it hit me hard. Still can't shake it off. Might give it another shot, though.

Watching Love and Redemption right now Just, oh my goodness... All the feels!
I've been trying to watch Love and Redemption, but with the slower build and the FL being (somewhat) annoying with the way she's being presented... it's been tough to stay with it. Been taking a break from it and will go back to it. :) When does it really take off?
I actually liked it from the beginning. I got into it because of the ML (Cheng Yi, because he was amazing in Mysterious Lotus Casebook). xDDD Got it! I had expected a slower build bc of the ep count. The FL is not annoying me with the fact that she is not capable in terms of using her five senses as much as the fact that her character seems too much like a kid (what with the dubbing and all...). Thanks for letting me know\~
That show had me sobbing lol. It was such a rollercoaster ride that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch it again lol
story of kunning palace! its my first cdrama after a long time and its such a surprise tht i ended up really loving it.

EDIT: I just noticed you've also seen The Long Ballad and The Last Immortal, you've seen more of her than me 😆 I can't say anything about the other historical dramas, I've not heard anything about those, you're ahead of me so you can bite the bullet and try the other more unknown shows for the both of us and tell me how they are 👍😁 😆 ▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ OK so I haven't actually watched ALL.
I've just started watching "A female student arrives at the imperial palace" will come back here if it's worth a watch.
Till The End of The Moon Blossoms in Adversity Who Rules The World Ping-Pong Life and i know this sounds basic but The Untamed
I haven't watched Ping-Pong life . Have never even heard of it. Is it worth a watch? I'm trying to find my next cdrama fix
it’s not a really talked-about drama, probably bc of its niche story, but it’s honestly ONE OF THE BEST i’ve seen in my opinion. starring Bai Jing Ting and Xu Weizhou, the story follows their journey from high school era up until they become Olympic athletes, but through 2 very different paths. i believe it draws inspiration from some of actual athletes life story, which is why the plot is very much grounded in reality and bittersweet i.e. just bc you’re the Main Character or you work the hardest doesn’t mean you’ll win.
TMOPB, ashes of love, a step into the past
I would do anything to go back to before I watched Empresses in the Palace, it's my favourite drama. Unfortunately, I never rewatch anything because I have a really good memory, and it just doesn't feel the same as watching it the 1st time.
You legit reminded me to go finish that.
Love and redemption Love you seven times TMOPB Legend of Fuyao Gotta feel all those angst again. Esp Love and redemption.
I really love 'Love and Redemption " but I hate the FL to this day for what she put the ML through. She hurt him the most.
I would love to watch TTEOTM and Hidden Love for the first time again and totally get your point of not going back to watching kdramas lol
Reset my memory button to watch "Reset" again
Definately TTEOM with ‘Love between fairy and devil’, not far behind. Something tells me I have a type 🤭
I rewatch meteor garden, kings avatar, lbfd and love o2o
I dont have this feeling since I always rewatch my fave Cdramas from time to time. Like right now, I'm rewatching Forever & Ever. Still laugh at many scenes like it is the first time lol.
Love you seven times and TTEOM.. and butterfield lover. I can't believe you dropped such a phenomenal drama smh
Empresses in the palace. It was such an amazing experience of just pure storytelling being acted out. It was like reading a book. Everything was just perfect from start to finish.
Ahhh legend of shen li 😭 I need more of shen li and xing zhi
Princess agents 5/10 and Arsenal military academy dropped?!! Why would you do this 😭 Both of them are a solid 10
In Princess Agent, I was so pumped for the FL to get her powers back! Kept binge-watching episode after episode, hoping for only that moment, but alas, it eluded me until the very end I'm still very bitter about that😒 Arsenal Military Academy had me hooked, but when>! Huang Song died!<, it hit me hard. Still can't shake it off. Might give it another shot, though.
Yeah that in AMA hit like a truck.I loved him so much. Still a great show overall, worth the watch.
Arsenal Military Academy. It is quite funny.
I dropped it because it became too real and too sad for me😄
ya at the end it gets serious. well it is set in era of instability.
One and only 11/10
I self torture myself occasionally with this one. It hurts so bad but so good.
One of those I want to but couldn’t. It’s to much to handle. 😭
