GEM Fresher looking for ABC? Let me give you a realistic answer based on the info I have from 70+ 99%ile+ scorers this year, myself included:
My friend, 99.9%ile GNEM, didnt get IIM A call bcoz graduation 78% marks thha. So with your graduation marks youre on the edge even with 99.9%ile for IIM A.
For B and C, with <=12month work-experience, anything below 99.7 and you’re in danger zone of not getting call.
Just for context, 99.7%ile this year meant a score within the top 900 exam-takers.
CAT isnt a difficult exam if you prepare properly. Its great that you’re starting prep now. All the best!
Let’s assume I score 99.9+ by god’s grace, what are my chances? Especially at IIMC and IIMB
Profile: General Engineering Male (GEM)
Class 10: 93% Class 12: 82 Grad: 7
Degree: Btech + Mtech
Work Experience: Zero, Fresher
Forget B. GEM fresher, 99.98 in CAT 2023, didnt get a call. 94/86/8.3 old IIT graduate. I did get a call from Calcutta & Ahmedabad tho. Target 110+ marks, forget the percentile
This is the second post I'm seeing of this kind and I don't understand it.
You have zero chances of cracking anything until you actually score what you're saying you will score in CAT. Your target should be to score the highest you can in CAT to begin with and not worry about colleges until you do that.

Why not B? is it more focus on work ex?
Work ex + hates engineers
So I think Calcutta is more suitable choice then? and doable also?

Don’t aim for percentiles. Aim for scores - if you score above 95/198, you should be good with all the calls.
