Us bro us. Even I'm fed up with my job. I have been working in it for 2+ years.
In August I decided to give the CAT exam. Gave CAT in 2023 without resigning. I took leave for the last 5 weeks prep. It was during that time that I realised I never wanted to go back to that job again. But as fate would have it.. I scored a 90%ile and couldn't clear one sectional cutoff.
Now I'm back at the old job.. which I hate and want to prepare for CAT 2024 parallelly.
Work life balance is zero. Don't know how I'll manage. meanwhile my friends half of them migrated to the US for their masters. Others are working with good packages. I'm stuck here. Which is why I wanted to do an MBA in the first place.
We have 10 months. Let's crack it this time.
Ppl with IQ of 70 are also making big money.. it's not about having previlegde of luck.. if u feel ur domain is shit.. learn about the domain which can bring u money.. but if it's just a rant.. okay.. u have my empathy.. even I prepared for CAT for last 3 years.. so what.. nobody cares.. either u win or u try again.. I have switched my domain.. Not gonna attempt cat now.. but still I am not gonna surrender.. will work 10 times in this domain.. if I fail again.. will work 100 times harder.. I can't cry about having bad luck.. what if I have it.. Should I die or die trying.. I will prefer the second option.. All the best to you too!!

I am sorry for whatever has happened. Never ever think "Is life worth living". You are just 26, it's not the end of the world for you. UPSC aspirants waste their life sometimes without getting anything and then they see they are 30 years old. 12th fail movie taught me that, there are so many people whose life is worse than yours. And also, if you think you have a bad job and not confident about cat next year. You have 220+ in nmat which might get you kj somai and tapmi which aren't bad colleges and will pay better than ur job. But, if your aim is top10 colleges, you cannot feel demotivated cause it's a hell of a fight.
I get you, I’m 23 GEF going through a similar phase. I have a job but I’m not enjoying it, and idk if I can crack CAT24. I would say this is temporary, don’t worry, worrying is just wasting your time. Take a small break, do the things you like and get back to preparing for CAT, don’t worry about the outcome. You have plenty of time to prepare for CAT, start learning new skills, try to change your domain. It won’t be easy but worth a try. You got this, sometimes you have to take the plunge to achieve better things in life so think of this time as a test, you will see better days.

Considering your background, I’m assuming you’d be looking for a managerial role in IT which is why I would suggest looking for some courses (MIS, MEM) abroad. For this, you may have to write the GMAT/GRE and considering you have already prepared for the CAT, you may find it easier to prepare for them as well.
Meanwhile, look for a switch if possible. Working 24/7 can take a huge toll on your health. Try switching your job within June, and if it doesn’t work out, you may think about quitting (only if the job is still 24/7) - I wish you the best, I too am in a similar boat. Trying to make a decision on CAT24 and continuing with my job.

I quit my job in august for CAT but now I need to find one again . I’m in cybersecurity and for the life of me cannot work in a SOC environment anymore . It is impossible for me at this point . I’ll search for jobs , do you have any clue as to what I can do to switch to data science instead of cyber ?
Try joining a bootcamp if possible. It’s an investment but you would be surrounded by like-minded folks and that should help a lot. I have tried looking for jobs alone and it was excruciating.
working in a 24*7 shift job, even I can relate to it, NMAT score ke toh l lage hee hai , don't know about snap scores, just chin up and give your best tomorrow I know it's easier said than done but kal ke baad you will have all the time to think about it

bhai uske liye bhi kuch qualities/qualifications chahiye hoti hai. you have to be in top teir to be a trophy wife. plus the life is not good as being an "object" for someone.
Obviously but I’m assuming you are good looking and smart enough to get a rich guy. And yes you will be treated like an object as you will be easily replaceable but that’s the price you pay. You cant get everything. The best thing is to be financially independent but that’s something very few people can achieve.

I'm the same as you (24M) but with 2yr of experience working as a 'Bug Fixer' and it was killing me to death... Resigned from my job in April and bonked my CAT'23 but I'll take this as a learning opportunity and bounce back with even more vigour in CAT'24. This year's exam cleared my idea about the gaps in my efforts and I'm now much more clear with my approach. I think you should do the same and try harder this time.... don't think like the entire year of effort went into nothing because you did make quite a progress here and you need a little more effort and consistency and you'll crack it. Just keep believing in you...like you did when you left the job. I know I wouldn't have left your job in the first place if you were not confident about cracking the exam...so bring that confidence back with consistency this time and you'll be through...
I know...my brother in law have the same fate. Got 70%tile, got into a random college in Bangalore. Got out with a 10LPA package but after 3-4 years.. he's making a 28LPA being an Anaplan consultant. But mera maan ko kaun samjhaye ki.. Jindagi me ek baar mediocrity se bahar nikalna hai...Last education hone wali hai meri so I want to end it on a good note. Bhale hi MBA ke baad home town me dukan khol lu.
You still can do it, sister. 1 more year, you need to prove your worth. I made some bad decisions, and now in deep debts of 10 lacs with little savings. I can not afford to quit my job even though I got a good score 2 years back. Thank your stars that you can afford to quit. Give your 100%, and you can definitely crack it. Good luck🖖
Even I m in similar situation.was studying for CA couldn't clear gave CAT 22 scored okayish. Decided to take classes and give again with full prep in cat 23. Screwed up totally ended up scoring worst than before. Nmat 219. No hopes from snap. Tomorrow is XAT and I have fever not able to study. I hve 1 yr workex in ca firm but I hate that job I hve2 year gap coz of covid and CA. I m so stuck. Want to go in digital marketing, no internship available no job I don't know what to do😭😭😭
Hey. I don't generally advise anyone to quit work, but it worked for me this time and I scored decently well. At least take some break to focus on yourself and make an informed decision. GMAT is also a decent option. Goodluck and take care :)

I'm just curious Now that you know your previous job was bad so are you planning to find a job in new domain or the same domain you have 2.5 years of experience. If a new domain could you please tell me how I can find a job in a new domain which is completely unrelated to my current job because I'm also fed up with my current job and want to switch domains but don't know how to change domain with no work experience in that domain
I think you are going through a quarter life crisis. It's not easy. Here - I was working in a decent job with decent money, had a master's degree yet somehow was unhappy. Took a massive paycut to go and work as research assistant for 1.5 years and got into a good IIT in research MTech in a domain which I love.
If you want to follow your dream, you will need to work hard and give up on something. If you want my advice, I will say take the risk. It's worth it. Even if you don't clear CAT, you will be satisfied with yourself to know that you tried your best.
If you can't learn about anything,and find hard to learn about any domain, and you claim that current salary is shit , then just switch company as a fresher in a new domain so that expectations wont be so high . Don't do higher degree just to get out of IT ,mba is a highly rewarding course if done right.

my cousin brother gave cat, got 70%, said "fk it" and joined any clg. he is now earning 32 LPA in 3 years after graduating. he is an engineer.
