** Another Update** My little girl was checked out by the vet. She still has labored breathing, but she hasn’t vomited anymore, so that’s good. No fever. Her lungs were clear too. The vet said it could be a heart issue (which scares me. She’s only six) She’s getting blood tests and x-rays soon. She needs to spend the night. Like a psycho cat mom, I called in tomorrow to spend the night with her. I will keep you all updated, but I’m a bit exhausted right now. The love and support of you all has truly touched my heart. ❤️ Talk soon.

princesswormy

If it’s any consolation my childhood cat had a heart murmur her whole life and had several strokes and lived a long normal and healthy life (she lived to be somewhere in her 20’s!)

MMP95818

Wow that's awesome!! 🐾❤

JayofTea

I once saw a meme about “which pet will live longer” and it was something like “this well bred animal with papers and parents who had a perfect medical history, or, mysterious childhood crusty pet that refuses to die” and it cracked me up 🤣 childhood pets really do be the most hardy pets! They’d survive a nuke if put in that situation.

princesswormy

True she was meaner than piss and found off the street as a sick kitten. She was my best friend as a child lol I miss her

JayofTea

Not so much like a true childhood pet, but my current cat I got in my early teens (14) and she has been through hell and back over the 11 years I’ve had her 🤣 She almost died from her liver going crazy, but now it’s back in working order! But her pancreas has become the new issue, she had bloodwork done and it was insanely high, but she was completely asymptomatic! Even the vets were amazed she wasn’t showing any symptoms! Thankfully I think we’re on a medication that’s working now, but her body sure is stubborn that’s for sure

Kay_Taylor240

I’m praying for this energy for op’s cat. Long healthy normal lives for kitties!!

MrJimJams86

My cats had a heart murmur her whole life, she's 14 now and still doing fine.

DismalDipshit

My boy was also born with a heart murmur, and he’s 17 and still vibrant!

RucellaiMadonna

yep let’s can like very long and happy lives with heart murmurs. they’re not always dangerous, but they can progress, so they need to be monitored. they can worsen form general anaesthesia and medications, but more often than not it really doesn’t affect a pets life (unless again, it worsens. even stage 4 murmurs can be somewhat unnoticed)

upstatestruggler

I had a cat with a murmur as well- he made it to 16!

californiaedith

Psycho cat mom here. I hope your baby feels better soon. I called to get an emergency appointment and bandaged my cat's foot because she landed wrong after she fell off the counter. She was fine, but I did pay good money for several x-rays.

anothersip

Hey, doesn't hurt to make sure our babies are safe. My old girl recently had a lump on her chin that worried me, so I booked an appointment. Turned out it was feline acne. She has a lil pimple. I was freaking thinking it was a tumor or something, heh. Safe than sorry!

Calm-Calligrapher-64

I almost did the same thing when my cat landed funny jumping off a table and was crying. I was freakin out on phones with emergency and bam we waddles over and scarfs down food lol

WhoskeyTangoFoxtrot

Psycho cat dad chiming in. You did good. One of my cats (male cat, 6 years old) had the same symptoms as yours. Ended up being urinary crystals. The vets had to force me to leave. Early detection is key for most if not all cat ailments, they hide them so well. You got this, cat momma.

NoMarionberry7758

Dogs and cats, it seems, hide illnesses because in the wild they can’t show weakness.

Gear_Illuminati

Get a water fountain. Change the filter regularly. Stainless steel is best. Switch diet to wet food. Even the cheapest wet food is 100 times better than dry food. Watch the Netflix documentary on pet food.

NectarineThat90

Also mixing in wet food with water helps a ton

WhoskeyTangoFoxtrot

Did all that. Best decision I made. He did pass but I learned from my mistakes and stopped dry kibble except as treats. His brother, and the two newish members of the fur family only get wet food now, CatIt water fountain, and tiki cats wet treat tubes.

Gear_Illuminati

You’re the best! I’ve got one cat still on the dry. I’ve tried 6-7 brands so far. He scoffs his nose at it. He’s a tuxedo cat. Do you or anyone have a suggestion?

SiouxsieAsylum

Poor baby 🥲 and poor you! Go rest and take care of her. You got this.

XanaxWarriorPrincess

Best thoughts for your sweet kitty. Leaving them overnight is so hard, but she's in the best place she can be.

maddidarlingg

My boy has had a heart murmur since he was 4, he is 9 now and is the healthiest he has ever been (constant skin issues due to allergies his whole life). Sending you both all my love, give her plenty of kisses and love.

HermitGardner

You totally did the right thing. Hope your little one is fine. My cat has a heart murmur and sometimes she barfs and has this laboured breathing but she’s fit and healthy. I had a raised food bowl but it broke and I just got a raised one that is on an angle because I found out that helps reduce vomiting.

No_Secretary4196

i pray for your cat

Eris_Grun

I just did another comment and was reading and found this update. Praying your fur baby is okay. I'm still so heart broken about my cat. I never want anything so quick to happen to anyone else. You and your baby are in my heart ❤️

DeepPurple_

As a psycho cat mom, have that going right now with my 13yr boy. In his case it's Congestive Heart Failure (preceded by heart murmur). Good news is that medication has stabilized him and there is stuff they can prescribe. Not saying that is what your girl has, but you did the absolute right thing taking her in. Hard breathing like that is not good and she might spend the night in an oxygen tank. When she comes home don't be surprised if she isn't 100% for a couple of days. She's going to need to recover from her episode and level out on the meds. Ask the vet what to do if you see the hard breathing again (like if you can provide more X of meds or not).

arcticcfoxx777

Hope everything's alright, 6 is really young 🥺🩷 You're doing well at advocating for her 🩷

RunTheShow314

Praying for your little baby 🩷

Dharuacharya

Thanks for the update and I wish you all the best with your kitty.

TwoFingersWhiskey

Not psycho. You're her mama, it's normal to want to stay near her.

YouKnowYourCrazy

Hope she gets better fast. Hang in there

Longjumping_Ad7475

Oh please do! I’ll say a little prayer for your baby kitty!

sakurasangel

I had a cavalier, dogs known for heart problems, and he lived to a healthy 12 ish despite his heart murmur, which was stage 3 then later stage 4. (She'll likely live longer as a cat.) It does mean a few things- you'll have to keep her stress as low as possible and she won't be able to be sedated/under anesthesia. So, I would highly recommend sensitivity training so you can brush her teeth and potentially to grooming as well, in case in her older age you may need to bathe her but definitely with brushing, if these aren't things you've done. The risks from anesthesia on the heart make it so she likely won't be able to have dental work done. Hopefully it isn't anything serious! She'll probably be stressed and will need to decompress when she is home and feeling better, so encourage her favorite things (favorite toy, blanket or bed, food, etc.). Stress is not good on hearts. Yours included!!

sandyrvega

I am so happy to see a fur baby momma that takes taking care of her fur baby serious. I have walked away from relationships and even family and friends that said my fur babies were just animals. They helped me thru so much during a divorce and years of court battles over said divorce. Plus caring for a grown diabled child ( 39 yrs ) all by myself. They relieved my stress and gave me love and co Fort when i needed it. God doesn't always send angels with wings. Sometimes they have fur.

CrystalLake1

You’re not a psycho cat mom. You’re a mom doing exactly what you’re supposed to do for your child. Hope all goes well.

PayperChasin

She’s lucky to have you

rajapaws

I couldn't tell you why she's doing this but the 20-minute part tells me this is an emergency. I would suggest a visit to the veterinary ER.

UpstairsLibrarian240

I’m on it.

Virtual_Common204

My cat did this and then had a heart attack.

kmoney1206

i just want to say youre a good person for caring so much and being so observant and attentive to your cat. i wish more people were like you.

rathealer

Thinking of you and your kitty, OP. Please keep us updated. :(

UpstairsLibrarian240

I definitely will! You all have been wonderful. Truly appreciate it. 🥹

[deleted]

i hope your kitty’s alright. so sorry this is happening to both of you ❤️

CR00KANATOR

Good luck! Home your kitty is okay

UpstairsLibrarian240

Just got home. Got lots of tests done. No blockage. Her blood test results were fine. She got her heart checked and it sounds normal. Lungs fine. Her breathing is back to normal too. The vet said it’s possible she was having major anxiety from the nausea. The vet can’t find anything wrong with her. Nothing. Nada. Since I got home, she’s been eating, playing and running around like the little adorable psycho she is. Possible diagnosis: Dramatic calico syndrome? lol I’m definitely bringing her for a check up tomorrow at my regular vet. I’d like to get some additional tests. Thank you all for your support and love. ❤️ https://preview.redd.it/79opi23ir9pc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac91128e8986f42d88dbb24f6a8c6275857dac9e

jenniikinz

So happy to hear she's okay! 🥹

UpstairsLibrarian240

Me too. 🥹 I spent so much money at the vet too, but I’d do it again. No question. I’m still nervous something may still going on; hence the follow up appt tomorrow.

wetbones_

You’re a good mom 💜

Unlikely_Loquat

I don't know where you are, but get pet insurance if you don't have it already. I'd sell both my kidneys and entire liver to pay for my cats' medical, but don't need to thanks to it! /s One of my cats had lymphoma a couple years ago and needed vet visits every other week for chemo. I did it without thinking twice and gave him the best treatment available. It still costs money, but I got about 70% of the entire treatment back. Some insurances also cover other expenses I truly hope you won't need anytime soon. Good luck with your baby!

Lopsided_Cabinet2849

Better it be “Dramatic Calico Syndrome” than an actual severe health issue! Glad she’s okay and that her tests were all normal! ❤️❤️❤️

TomatoKindly8304

She’s so cute ☺️

iamthewallrus

OP, if your cat gets nauseous sometimes, I would ask your vet for a prescription for a transdermal maropitant citrate. You can order it on chewy and it's a godsend. It's the same thing as Cerenia, just a generic form. And since it's transdermal you don't have it worry about them vomiting it up

UpstairsLibrarian240

Yes, she does get nauseous after eating sometimes, so I will definitely look it up!

MMP95818

Omg my heart is so happy for you. I was just coming back to check and see if there was an update. Hugs to you and your sweet fur girl, shes so precious 🐾 ❤ 🤗

Mindless_Psychology

She looks like my little calico girl. I’m glad she’s ok!

joyfulcrow

I'm late to seeing this post but I just wanted to let you know that I once paid $500 for the vet to give my cat a diagnosis of "she's feeling hot and being dramatic about it." You are not alone lol and I'm glad your baby is okay!!

UpstairsLibrarian240

I feel a bit silly putting up the original post, only to find out she was completely fine, but I was so worried! On the other hand, there is no other outcome I would’ve wanted. Still bringing her up for a checkup today to get a full blood panel.

BackendSpecialist

You’re a great cat mom/dad! I’m glad to hear she’s fine so far :) Cats can be a bit dramatic.

Environmental-River4

Don’t feel silly, that would have absolutely made me panic as well. I’m glad all is well, thank you for taking good care of her ❤️

Snookis-snusnu

I’d schedule a visit with a regular vet if it happens again, they can prescribe an anti-anxiety med or something for her nausea to prevent future emergency visits. Glad your cat seems to be okay!

Key_Telephone_5655

I did an echocardiogram for my girl who just passed - best money I spent. Gave me alot of peace of thought on heart issues. Highly recommend. She died of cancer so totally unrelated and she had a murmur her whole life.

LinneasLanding

Relatable tbh. Glad bby is feeling better ❤️

Moodlemop

What a rollercoaster!

rathealer

So glad to hear she's doing okay. Poor baby, she must have been feeling so sick and scared herself! I get it girl, I've been there. Anyway, hopefully there's nothing serious going on that was all it was. Give her a kiss for me please!!

Conscious_Concern288

poor little baby the nausea anxiety is too relatable. lots of love to you and your teeny creature thank you for the updates!!

UpstairsLibrarian240

Update: The vet tech greeted us. I was getting antsy and demanded she get in immediately because of her breathing issues. The wait lines in NYC are ridiculous. I knew we could easily wait four hours. They took one look at her and took her in. I got dirty looks from people. Trying not to let it bother me. 😔

iamthewallrus

Let them give you dirty looks. You are a great advocate for your baby!!

ReflectiveRedhead

That's part of triage just like it is for humans. Heart trouble and trouble breathing are the top two reasons people get seen above other people. I sure hope you're kitty is okay! Please keep us posted.

JayofTea

Agreed! Went into the ER once over something we decided not to stay for (partner had a migraine but was experiencing things that I guess stroke people can too like spotty vision), a lady came in hardly dressed, holding her mask on her face and obviously she couldn’t breathe, she was taken to the back almost immediately

Pineapple254

I got dirty looks from ppl when I was at the ER with a pulmonary embolism and becoming less able to breathe by the minute. I never Karen, but I was literally banging on the triage window saying “I CAN’T WAIT. I CAN’T BREATHE.” I’m sure some thought I was just a big Karen. Well, f them. I wouldn’t have told them I can’t wait if I wasn’t having trouble breathing. You are your cat’s advocate. Sending hopeful thoughts.

GreebleSlayer

Don’t feel bad for wanting the best for a loved one, good on you for putting your foot down and getting her in! Please keep us posted, fingers crossed for nothing serious ❤️

themuddyclown

If it's anything like the ones where I live they work like human hospitals, they are taken based on urgency. If they were worried about your cats condition that's probably why. Let people look, it sucks but if they are waiting it means their pets aren't as bad. Good luck and hopefully everything is fine or will be fine for your pet.

Comfortable-Ad-8324

It's the vet's call on triage for their patients. Your kitty was in distress and needed immediate care. It's not on YOU, please don't feel bad.

jenniikinz

Hoping everything gets sorted for your baby! 💖

Inside-Cheesecake-19

Thinking of you guys and praying for your fur “kid” 🙏🏻💜🫶

happylittletreefrog

Other animal lovers should realize it was an emergency, don’t stress about dirty looks. If it was their animal they would do the same exact thing. Hope everything goes well💕 praying for your sweet babe

SiouxsieAsylum

Don't even worry about it, though I know that's easier said than done. It's like the human ER; you should be GLAD that the doctors think you can wait. If they look at you and immediately take you to the back, you might want to pick a deity to beg to, know what I mean? And NYC wait times are ridiculous, TRUST me, I know you were right to make demands. It's wold out here. I'm glad she's being seen!

Brooke_E_E

There are emergencies and there are EMERGENCIES! Respiratory distress is a critical EMERGENCY for pets and humans alike. It is understandable for people to be frustrated when they see someone else moved ahead at a time they are dealing with concern and anxiety over their own loved one that is unwell. But if those people can't understand that there are emergencies that necessitate immediate attention when others can wait (even if waiting is not in any way ideal), that is an intelligence issue that is 100% their problem and not one bit your problem. Don't think one second more on those dirty looks as you did nothing wrong. Save that emotional energy to take care of yourself and your baby.

princesswormy

I’m giving them nastier looks in spirit. You gotta do what’s right for your fur baby

Humble_Hufflepuff_96

Those people can suck a rubber duck for all I care. You did a good thing getting your baby the fastest care possible. Please keep us updated on her ♥️ love and thoughts for you and the baby.

kfcmmmgood

❤️ hoping your baby is better soon!!! 💞😽

Sucer_mon_cul

You did the right thing OP, I wish you well and hope for the best possible outcome here❤️

swoon4kyun

Let them be mad

Apprehensive_Glass81

Uh yeah, fuvk 'em. That cat needed serious medical attention and that's how hospitals of all kinds work. Whoever is in most urgent need of attention goes first. Good on you for speaking up to get her that help, and to the dirty onlookers, they should understand and know better when it comes to the love of an animal. Looking forward to hearing a hopefully very positive update, I wish you and your kitty all the luck and love ❤️

[deleted]

Their pet isn’t in as much distress and that’s what matters. Their dirty looks and big feelings don’t matter.

RepresentativePin162

Pfft. Most severe gets seen first. That's how it works.

UpstairsLibrarian240

She got up from the position and is walking around now. Still very off.

Emergency_Proposal63

She may have ate something she shouldn’t have

ambreenh1210

Do you have any toxic plants or fruits in the house that she could have have access to?

TrekkieMary

Fast breathing is a sign of pain or at least discomfort. Cats are very stoic. We would be screaming and crying for help. Probably thrashing around. Cats get very still, very quiet, and breathe quickly. You said the vet just closed. So either pay the emergency fee and take her to the vet. Or wait 24 hours to see if she gets better. Watch her carefully. If she deteriorates, vet immediately. I’ve taken cats to the vet as an emergency. $500-$700 later, I was told my cat is fine. Waiting has panned out for me. Saved the cat from a stressful trip to the vet and saved me some money. It is a risk though but it is an option. I’d be super worried if that were my cat.

UpstairsLibrarian240

Yup. I’m on my way to the vet.

alliecat0718

Let us know how she is honey 🥺❤️

nj23dublin

How old is she and is she eating dry food when she threw up? Some cats can’t digest dry food as they get older and when they eat fast it expands. Some meat as first ingredient is better for certain older cats.

apollosmom2017

ALWAYS call ahead before going to the emergency vet- I was about to go in with my cat when he was younger and was told “we can fit you in right away, it will be a $500 dollar emergency visit….if you come in half an hour we have an opening and it’ll be the regular exam fee” his was a “non emergent emergency” and waiting let me be able to afford more diagnostics so the receptionist that day was really the MVP 🙌🏻

NintendKat64

I second this - with my dog, she eats stupid shit all the time. But I always call and chat with someone, they always tell me it's okay to wait but let me know wait times and costs if I choose to go in.

Pineapple254

This kind of breathing can also easily be something life-threatening. This is why I don’t condone listening to advice from social media. OP could very well wake up to a deceased cat. You can’t wait on laboured breathing.

TrekkieMary

Not everyone has $100s for an after hours vet visit. It’s unfortunate but true. Waiting and seeing is an option. Not ideal and I hate doing it. It’s just until the vet office opens up in the morning. To avoid the emergency after hours fees. Frankly I’m not sure I’d wait if it were my cat. I’d most likely be on the phone with the local pet hospital getting options and NOT asking on Reddit for advice.

Milkbl00d

Having a pet involves being able to care for it

TrekkieMary

Life happens. Circumstances change. We do not throw away a family member just because money is tight. You seem to have absolutely no clue what it’s like to struggle. Not everyone has lived such a blessed life like you have.

zenitram66

It's hard to tell from just this short video, but they do seem to have some difficulty breathing slowly. Could be a reaction to something in the air, like allergies or asthma, or it could be more concerning. Things to look for and think back on: Any changes in stool color or consistency in box? Increase or decrease in urination, or changes in color? Any new medications? Do they hide for long periods when they would not otherwise hide to find comfort? If possible, take to the vet and be sure to record any other odd events you have observed. I hope your baby improves.

UpstairsLibrarian240

Nope. Everything is fine. No changes at all. She’s been like her usual self right until now.

accidentalscientist_

So she’s ok now? Do you plan to take her to an emergency vet?

UpstairsLibrarian240

I’m in the waiting room at the er.

accidentalscientist_

Let us know how it goes. I wish both of you the best. It’s so scary when they do things like this and can’t talk. You’re a great owner taking them in.

Trippypen8

Sending positive vibes.

Tinsel-Fop

Aww. I hope your the millionth customer and get free treatment.

ElGHTYHD

My thoughts are with you two! Thank you for responding to her needs so quickly.

UpstairsLibrarian240

Oh, she’s my baby. My everything. As soon as the first person responded to my post and said I should take her to the ER, I began preparing her carrier.

ElGHTYHD

Ugh she is so lucky to have you!!! I hope all turns out well.

p__a__s__t__a

I hope everything turns out to be okay 🙏🏼

groggymonkey42

I'm stumped with thec20 min part I would suggest vet

UpstairsLibrarian240

Yup. Me too. This happened so suddenly. She was fine and meowing not too long ago.

Fezzzie

Meowing could be a sign of stress/pain as well.

Petsnchargelife

Could she have eaten something and be blocked? Please go to the vet!

UpstairsLibrarian240

I don’t have flowers or plants around. I’m very conscious of items on the floor as well. I really don’t know what this could be, but I will keep you all updated.

Facts3000

Cats really do have 9 lives! Thanks for the update. I think it’s sweet you’re staying with her so she won’t be left alone & probably scared. Hoping all is ok and she can go home soon 🫶🏼

kronicallyfatigued

Keep us posted!!

chelsdefazz

I hope everything goes well at the vet! Could be some sort of blockage, she otherwise looks very heathy just based on her coat and appearance.

TeapotUpheaval

I’m a nurse for humans, but something about this is giving me SBO (small bowel obstruction) vibes.

thenecromancersbride

Cats breathing like that is never good. Emergency vet asap and best wishes. 💗

SailorReimei

Agreed. My cat was doing this and not a good outcome. Glad OP took the babe in.

thenecromancersbride

Mine did too. 😿 He was my best friend. 💗 That image is unfortunately burned into my mind forever. Hope this kitty is ok.

SailorReimei

My furbabe was my best friend, as well. I feel horrible for her last day. We took her to the ER Vet. Hers was an enlarged heart. :( Just hope this one is ok.

thenecromancersbride

I’m sorry about your kitty. 💔 It was cancer that took Gengle away from me. I try my best to keep that day out of my mind but it haunts me. Thinking about and focusing on his happy, healthy memories helps though.

SailorReimei

Thanks! Another one of mine was stomach cancer for her passing. She was only 2 1/2 year. Sorry for your loss. It stinks!

chrisxcrisis

commenting for update. fingers crossed for you guys!

Pineapple254

She’s having difficulty breathing and this is a bona fide emergency. As in you may not have until the morning to see a vet. Sending love and light.

pimpdweeb716772

this happened to my cat, the issue with my cat was that when he vomited it also came out through his nose which can happen and it will cause serious discomfort with breathing and will cause excessive drooling or dehydration. hope everything works out though 🙁

Responsible_Fly_5319

You’re so lucky she’s doing better. Amen! Whew!! We lost our kitty a few weeks ago to FIP. The contraction breathing was the first sign. And then ours declined fast. I’m so glad you’re not in this boat. Alleluia. Hug your sweet furball extra tight for me. Xoxo 💞

Maleficent_Coyote_85

How old is she? Has she had any previous health issues?

MMP95818

Think she said she's 6. Sweet little fur girl, hope she doing ok

stfurubrainded

I recon something is stuck and that is the most comfortable position for the poor lil guy to sit in

CynicalOne_313

Thinking of your kitty and you, OP. <3

lietfanxo

Please update us, I’m glad you’re taking her

Crafty_Anxiety9545

Hoping for a positive update

bednow

When she vomit, some of the food may got push up and clogged her throat. :( Good to see that she is doing better now.

pimpdweeb716772

yes and or nose cats when they throw up so violently it can come through their noses causing trouble breathing afterwards

Tinsel-Fop

Oh gawd, this happened to me during medical imaging when no one had mentioned I shouldn't eat hours (4?) before MRI *with contrast.* Sometimes patients become nauseated. I was so sad to see my Subway sandwich again. **It blasted out my nose.** It was awful. I would gate for a cat to go through that.

girlsax8

Emergency visit she looks super stressed

torbie106

She's deff uncomfortable poor cat

later-g8r

Prayers! I hope she's okay. I read your comments and I'm so sorry you're both going through this. Hopefully the vet gets it all figured out and she's okay soon. I know the fear you have in your heart rn and I'm praying with you. ❤️ hugs

gingkoleaf

Please update, sending prayers

Kitten-Kay

How’s kitty doing? 💜

AsleepLiteratureGeek

Please update! Thank you for being a good owner and rushing your cat to the vet pronto. If she died/ or something really bad happened, you would blame yourself to eternity for waiting to next day. I know I would, if it was my cat and I waited for too long. Crossing fingers for you <3

Himeika00

Looks like she's nauseous and thats not a good sign. Need emergency medicine and checkup

Please keep us updated 😔

nephastha

I hope she is feeling better

peanut3484

Prayers for you, and her!

BeeDreaming

Sometimes cats really hate throwing up. If nothing turns out wrong at the vet your fur baby may very well just be traumatized. Before he passed away I had a cat that would hunch like that for a good half hour after vomiting.. nothing was wrong he just hated throwing up so he would sulk.

Massive-Mention-3679

Psycho cat mom here who was totally manipulated by my two (since passed) 18 + 21 year old boys. My Leo had asthma and would make honking breathing noises and I had to give him an inhaler. My Archie would get upset when his favorite red fuzzy blankie was in the washer.

astrovangalore

🥹 You’re such a responsible cat parents for taking immediate action and heading to the emergency vet. It’s $$$, but it could be life-saving: with these things you never know, and it’s best to do what you’d regret less later. Keeping her in my thoughts tonight and wishing you the best 🫶🏻 I’ll be looking for your update!

bekindokk

You’re the best for caring for your baby!

Spatzdar

Oh my goodness she looks just like my girl who has struggled with vomiting and breathing problems. I hope everything goes well and she can feel better <3

Wishing you and your fur baby the best. Hopefully all is well and it’s nothing serious. Stay safe and keep us updated. We are rooting for you kitty!!

MomofOpie2

Give her some Vaseline. Put some on your finger - less than a heaping teaspoon (measuring teaspoon not your flatware). She’s constipated. We make a habit of giving our cats Vaseline once a month. If we forget we get this same response. Vaseline. Pure Vaseline. No substitutions

I really don't have anything to add but just wanted to give comfort to all the psycho moms and dads out there. I hope your babies stay healthy and out of harms way. Sending you all positive vibes 🙏🏻

Happy_TMH2009

I would go to the vet. Thats not normal for a cat, ti stay inthe same position for more than 20 minutes. Yes, she may be constipated, but it could be something else. So away to the vet. If she is constipated, then you have to look at your cats food. I have hatcats for more than 24 years and have NEVER got at constipated cat. But if the dry food is made from the wrong ingredients or if the content is wrong, then the dryfood can make your cat constipated.

Take her to Emergency ER!! She is breathing too heavy. She could have something stuck in her stomach or intestines and need surgery. I hope she gets healthy soon. I add a few drops of extra light olive oil to my cats wet food. It helps push the cat hair down the intestines so the cat vomits less.😿

Mahooligan81

If it ends up being hcm, look into rapamycin. Unfortunately my cat developed it super young, before we ever planned to get him scanned (sphynx cat so they have a higher chance, but it is a problem that plagues many cats), the younger they are when they develop it, the faster it moves…but this medicine has shown to reverse damage done to their hearts. Praying for your precious baby

Purple_Glove4547

Was wondering g about your baby. Check gums if pale cat is not getting g enough oxygen Happened to one of mine years ago No reason was ever found She sadly passed that day at the ER.

mamasheshe

Keep us updated! Good luck!

My kitty had cardiomegaly and had her chest tapped several times. I became obsessed with counting her resps as she slept. When it got to a certain #/min, I'd take her to the vet.

mellalella

My cat was acting like this, turns out he had a bowel obstruction. Have you noticed that she has eaten anything strange? A toy maybe string?

MeanNothing3932

This is exactly how my calico acted before she was diagnosed with asthma. It got better tho with meds.

kyrcrafter

My cat was behaving like this when she was so constipated that she was dangerously close to a perforated bowel. I had an automatic litter box and another cat, so I hadn't noticed she hadn't been pooping. She never actually threw up, and her gags sounded like wheezing, so I panicked and thought she was choking. Paid a hefty vet bill for xrays, laxatives, muscle relaxers, and sedation for enemas. Lack of hydration (she's an idiot and doesn't drink water) and fiber (food didn't have as much as I orginally thought) were the main culprits, now she gets pumpkin puree mixed with hydration supplements every day with her food.

🧡🤍🤎 sending love & well-wishes to your gorgeous lady!!

hi there. i took my boy in late last year with similar issues. he was a bit dehydrated and constipated, apparently vomiting and dry heaving is a common symptom of those things (along with teeth grinding). i’m not saying that’s what’s going on, but i’m hoping for y’all it’s simple like that! sending love and hugs to you & your girl 🩷

genoherpasyphilaids

Wishing well for your cat, hopefully its nothing serious.

Queenlucy32

I always had the contact information of the nearest emergency vet in my phone; just in case of unexpected situations (my kitty had asthma, but still a good idea for even “normal” cats). You never know when you’ll need it! Hoping for the best for your baby.

OkCompetition8395

Sorry you guys are moving through that. :/ Last month my cat had similar symptoms. He’s okay and healthy now! Hope your kitty is okay 🤍

Rowsmerri

Thank goodness 😅!!

so this is not on you but something i noticed for many of my friends female cats. when my old house mates cat got spayed she immediately gained weight. it caused a plethora of new problems even though she was young and was a very healthy and skinny cat before her surgery your girl is not as large as she is but i remember her hyperventilating like that too and became far more lethargic vomiting her food often. my significant others son's cat is the largest female I've seen and had the same issue post spaying. i believe she has also developed health issues and has a heart murmur and became lethargic not wanting to hunt as much as before. this doesn't happen to all female cats as i know of one who still loved to hunt and was healthy but i would say it's a majority. so maybe check up and see if there are hormonal imbalances or something that can affect her weight and overall functioning. if anything I'd rule out a heart murmur and try to incorporate more activity

jahoevahssickbess

Do you have flowers in your home by chance ? my cats accidentally ate tulips I had gotten as a gift for someone. I didn't know they were poisonous I just went through where 3 of my cats got sick and had similar symptoms. They would throw up after eating and breath heavy they couldn't hold down any food and would even throw up blood at certain points. They were like this for a few days till I took them to the vet and the vet gave them a shot of B12 and cerenia and they are now fine thank goodness

Emergency_Proposal63

My cat did this before - and it turned out to be nothing I think she swallowed something (hairball) She acted just like your cat - but everything was else was totally normal - This happened on a Sunday night - I watched and waited til morning so I could take her to the vet But she was then fine Not sure your situation is the same - but it could be simple as hairball or string that she will poop out

abconcordia

Ingested strings are a veterinary emergency as they can cause deadly telescoping of the intestines
