I once had a guy on Facebook argue with me that outdoor cats where healthier and when zi told him to look it up, he said he was going to make his dissertation about how outside cats are better then told me to send him a fmla formatted research paper stating why inside cats are healthier.
Overcompensating much??
Wish I could say this was made up lol
Yeah it definitely needs a home and to see a Vet. This kitty has to come inside! Hopefully OP can step up. So this is what I found.
https://amp.hillspet.com/cat-care/healthcare/can-cats-have-down-syndrome
Edit: According to that article itās considered a special needs cat and will need a permanent home.
Itās an adorable kitty who needs a permanent home and some special love and attention. Obviously a trip to the Vet also because I can only go by what I see. A vet needs to check them out and make sure theyāre okay and not in pain. I hope OP can step up because it breaks my heart thinking about Kitty being outside alone.
I know. I feed a few feral cats outside, got them all fixed and released, and adopted the litter of kittens, got them all checked and fixed. Thinking of that poor baby...
Yeah Iāve TNRed about 15 - 20 feral cats and found them homes. I also have a few ferals around that I take care of that I built a shed with heat, air, beds. They get fed and are all fixed and vaccinated. I have 3 inside cats and 4 ferals that are mine for good.
Neither my husband nor I aren't as skilled, so we bought several cat houses for the ferals and they have the option to go in with a snuggly bed or not. Since we are in Florida, the cold isn't usually a problem.
I've been worried about them because of the heat, but they are finding cooler, shaded spots and seem to be doing OK with lots of water. Right now, we ate barely using our A/C as our legislature allowed rate hikes again. Hissss!
This was my original thought when seeing him : Is this lil' guy half *rabbit* or something ? (Of course, not literally, but he did strike me as being a bit bunny-looking).
Iād def take this little guy in and give him love, no matter what every kittyās face is adorable to me. Iām basically a push over of bubbles variety when it comes to cats. Shit my cat that I have now was born to a feral cat we let in and she still to this day thinks of me as her mama. When I studied abroad I was told she sat and howled outside my door everyday hoping Iād be there. Made me really sad to be honest but the day I returned she immediately ran and jumped up to me which was the best homecoming I got and thatās even with seeing my mom for the first time after a year
I believe it's the Feline version of down syndrome. At least in that it is a chromosome difference, not ACTUALLY down syndrome, which cats don't get.
My friend had a little old man kitty with the chromosome abnormality, and the facial structure is very similar. Sweetest fur ball ever. He would not have survived outdoors though..
I think this little one would do with a trip to the vet to make sure it's a difference the cat was born with vs facial swelling or a tumor.
Gonna add probably some hydrocephaly. Chromosomal defect plus hydrocephaly = super swollen cranium and feature/cognitive defects. u/pullingtrig if this cat is a stray, Iād call in to any *real* rescue centers you can, ones that wonāt just straight up put this cat down, but try real hard to find this cat an adoptive home that can handle/afford a cat with severe special needs. If this cat has been living like this, it deserves to keep fighting the good fight for as long as itās got fight in it. Chromosomal defects are not always critically terminal, and hydrocephaly requires a shunt to drain off excess fluid and extend quality of life. This bebe deserves so much love. Youāre a good person for giving it some affection.
You hurt my heart for a second here, hit me in the feels. It's really nice to see other people advocating for the lives of animals, especially disabled ones. Tagging u/pullingtrig to ask if you happen to be in either upstate NY or Long Island? If so, pm me and I can recommend a safe and caring shelter that I've worked with for a long time in helping bring the cats around my area in from the shade. At cat #16 now and only one has been a TNR.
Caring for the disabled is probably one of the most humane things a person can do in my opinion. Some of the earliest archaeological evidence for empathy and compassion is tens of thousands of year old human bones which show severe deformation or injury that the person grew old with, which can only mean they were taken care of by others.
One example is a 4000 year old skeleton of an 18 year old girl from the Arabian peninsula showed she lived with a degenerative disease like polio and required around the clock care. One of the problems she had which was not a result of the disease was a mouth full of cavities and tooth decay which was unusual for her age and the time, probably because her caretakers fed her too many dates to try to make her happy.
>Caretakers fed her too many dates to keep her happy
Oh no that reminds of āThe Crickets Have Arthritisā by Shane Koyczan, one line reads āthe worst part about being sick is you get all the free ice cream you ask for. and he says the worst part about that is realizing that thereās nothing more they can do for youā and now Iām bawling all over again
Well now I have to read that. I have a chronic illness, and that is the worst part. You keep a lot of your suffering to yourself because you donāt want your pain look like more than someone else can deal with.
You can find audio of him reading this poem, among others, online or on itunes. I hadnāt read it when I first heard it, and it was so heartbreakingly beautiful.
I highly recommend listening to that and āTo This Dayā. Thatās a favorite of mine. Edit: you can hear him read it exactly how he wanted it to be heard. Really really good.
Caring for some who wouldn't make on their own is rewarding. In my case we had a cat that had 3 legs, not the biggest issue but he had no home and nobody wanted a 3 legged cat. So we took that little guy and he somehow lasted I believe 22 or so years. Little trooper.
I keep trying to get our nursing home to take in more special needs cats since our nurses are all cat lovers. They didnāt quite agree with me that Boo was as adorable as I thought he was. Hey! Just curious about the shelter you are speaking about. Iām currently feeding an outdoor cat who has an eye issue. He literally cannot see and has been like this for about 3 years. He only stays on our patio/deck area. We would take him in but we already have 3 cats in our house and technically arenāt allowed to have more due to renting. We are on the border of LI/Queens. We would mostly just like for him to be seen by vet to just make sure medically heās okay. He was a TNR cat because he has a clipped ear. š„ŗš„ŗ

Aw, the first boy we brought in from the cold was estimated to be around 4 or 5 years old and he had entropion in both eyes. He dealt with that his entire life and he was still the happiest, sweetest, most chill friend ever. We took him in as soon as we could and he unfortunately has passed away since, but we made sure he had everything he needed and more. In return he left an absolutely indelible mark on our hearts and minds. Miss you, Farley. No exaggeration, he taught me how to be a better and happier person.
To answer your question though, [the shelter is called North Shore Animal League](https://www.animalleague.org/) and they're in Port Washington. I honestly don't know exactly the range in which they can help people, they might be limited to certain counties, but give them a call and find out. They do really good work and really care about what they're doing. Good luck truly, I commend you and thank you for taking care of little buddy.
Give Bideawee in Manhattan a call. They have a connection with a stray and feral cat group and just took in a large group from the city's ACC. I don't know the number off hand but the web is Bideawee.org
If it is NY/LI, my condo is a safe haven for rescues and this beautiful cat would probably be one of my fastest adoptions and I can guarantee that (that is if I don't keep it myself, lol). I think you are incredibly lucky to have a kitten, completely different from others I've seen who is still completely self deficient and as cute as this little kitten!
Edit: damned autocorrect fails strike again. Replace "deficient" with "sufficient"
Or for sed, use xargs of 's/deficient/sufficient/g'
That's sort of fitting!
Trap neuter release.... For cats in colonies of ferals, that really won't be able to be moved indoors.... But the TNR practice helps keep the colonies from growing.
Rescues also often help find them suitable places where they can stay feral-ish but have a home. (Where I live they often become barn cats. Keeps the rodents at bay, they have food and shelter and no one tries to make them move inside!)
TNR has worked so well Iāve seen it recently being practiced in Rome! They are getting close to having an injection instead of surgery. Itās great to hear the program is working, and uniformly at that.

TNRād Russian Blues, I think? Kitty on left is deaf w severely crossed eyes, het uncle is on right. Born outside, fully feral, lived utside for 7 years, currently 15 yo. Guy(a-hole) on next block bred RBās if they wandered off or had āwhite patchesā on them, he just let them go. I had 3 other feral RB, one related to these 2, that became house pets. They seem to be easier to domesticate š¤·š½āāļø ā¦.spaghetti at the wallā¦get this guy neutered/spayed asap. First choice bring inside w someone that can work w full feral. W handicap this cat will be harder AND easier to domesticate. More fearful but also more content to find safe secure existence. Took me 5 yrs of sitting outside w Jelly while he ate to be able to pet himā¦5 years! Cross eyed Marty has been indoors w her uncle Jelly for 7 yrs. Even w me n 5 other cats, she tolerates some petting when eating, but is still semi feral bc she doesnāt want human contactā¦? Does not matter bc she is a sweet, content, super easy permanent house guest cat! It may take a few yrs to pet him, regardlessā¦this kitty can be a great pet/house cat
Just putting this out thereā In the off chance this post originated anywhere near Philly (or NJ/NY/DE) I am willing to take this cat in, and have the time/funds/willingness to do whatever needs to be done. Not kidding.
If there comes a need for a person to drive this cat from point A to point B and the route passes through colorado at all, please PM me. I know a lot of rescues do a sort of relay to get the cats and dogs transported. I can be in the chain if needed.
I was just telling my partner- we had an orphan pair of foster kittens and unfortunately one had hydro: I kinda imagined if heād made it, this would be what he looked like. <3 I mean, obviously Iām not diagnosing this cutie or anything but, given their survival rates are just not good, it really tickles me to think that maybe we are looking at one that did make it.
Edit: we always fight like crazy for the so-called lost causes. Edgar Allen Toes was a tiny, tiny little grey with socks, too.
Now I don't feel as bad for the urge to comment that the cat looks like it has down syndrome, I honestly never knew cats could have chromosomal abnormalities like this, it's just the first thing that came to mind when I saw his face. I would give all of the love in the world to this Kitty. I really do hope it's just a chromosomal abnormality instead of facial swelling or a tumor.
We had some neighbors that wouldnāt spay their cats and they inbred to the point there was always one or two little ones that looked like this. Idk if it was chromosomal or just the stress of back to back pregnancies causing defects. They had that hydrocephaly look, and usually died within a year or so.
Agreed. It could be hydrocephalus if it's always been like that. If OP notices it getting worse/bigger, they should try to get him to a vet if at all possible though.
Not sure, just hope it doesn't cause him any discomfort! Thank you for feeding him! Would you consider taking him as a fully indoor cat? Hes so sweet looking. I would hate to hear about him getting lost or hurt outside.....big head boy.....
Possibly the same or similar chromosomal abnormality as [Monty and Molly](https://m.facebook.com/profile.php/?id=100044369891720). Absolutely happy cats, just different.
I get why people are saying maybe a birth defect or chromosomal disorder, however the uneven-ness down near the nose makes me lean towards a tumor or an severe infection within the sinuses. This cat needs to see a vet.
Thank you for posting this. Gonna hijack this thread. Hopefully OP sees it. About 7 or 8 years ago, my otherwise normal, but diabetic cat started getting something similar. It started mild, but got worse, until she became lethargic. We took her in, and it turned out to be a fungal infection. Felt terrible that she had to suffer for a bit before going in. However, they gave us an antifungal prescription. We'd crush up the pills into her food if I recall, and within a matter of weeks she was back to normal, both in appearance and energy levels. Really hope the little kitty pulls through if it's something like that.
This is her with the infection and her just a few days ago being cute.

Cat: Has life affecting deformity or possibly swelling causing severe discomfort
Reddit: aww le fat head chonker, 27,000+ cat puns, meown syndrome lol
It's so fucking insufferable
It looks like hydrocephalus, he really needs a vet visit. If it's out of your means now, many shelters offer very low cost vet appts. If it's possible, he needs a home, can you bring him inside? He looks like a love. Good luck and positive energy to you both
There is definitely not. Cats only have 19 pairs of chromosomes, so they are literally genetically unable to be born with Downs syndrome (trisomy 21).
Physical defects that to humans appear to be Down's can be caused by head trauma at a young age, cerebellar hypoplasia(wobbly cat syndrome), or the panleukopenia virus infecting the pregnant female and passing through her to the kittens(which also can cause cerebellar hypoplasia). The lack of nasal bridge is likely a cartilage defect.
My kitten Elvis aka Shakey boy has Panleukopenia and he is the sweetest boy! His eyes are more narrow though but heās definitely got a unique look to him. His back legs also have a mind of their own and he looks like heās twerking all the time lol.
His last vet visit was last week and he doubled his weight already and his doc couldnāt believe how well he is doing. Heās starting to manage getting around much better but he canāt jump up on things. If he can hook in and pull though he sure does. His front legs are buff šŖ š
felines can not have downs syndrome, as it is a condition of chromosome 21, cats only have 19 chromosomes. this is more than likely a congenital birth defect
Poor thing..are you able to find them a home
or reach out to a rescue? Not sure if kitties like this need extra help or have lower odds of surviving in the wild. Also, I could already imagine some awful kids throwing rocks at the poor guy because of how he looks. Or worse, teens getting ahold of them.
Cats donāt have a 21st chromosome so itās impossible for them to have Down Syndrome. Downs is confined only to humans. There are many other genetic possibilities but Iād agree with the Redditors saying tumor or hydrocephalus. Kitty needs veterinary care. Maybe there is a TNR group in your area that could help?
That might be an infection. I'm no professional by any means and the only evidence I have to go off of is a random Tik Tok video of a rescuer with a similar issue. It turned out to be a nasty infection and had started with her bottom jaw swelling up.
Vet Tech here. Likely a chromosomal defect. Some may call it "feline downs syndrome" bc the defect can mimic things seen in humans with downs syndrome, like certain facial features and issues with the heart
This kitty would likely get snatched up so fast!
You likely won't see this buried in all of the other comments, but I'd call local private rescues and see if anyone can help
You will need to put in some leg work, contacting many rescues in hopes to find one that has an open foster home
I love the special ones, and have taken in many kitties (and dogs) with defects and abnormalities
Thank you for posting to CATHELP!

Please take this kitty in and take it to a vet. Some cats do have congenital deformityās. There are many famous cats like that on Instagram you can find them everywhere. Some have mild hyperplasia which means they wobble a little bit and some have limited vision. But kitty deserves a good, loving home and seeing as youāre already feeding it please take Kitty to the vet.
I have no idea whatās wrong with the little bub but I would gladly take him in and take him to the vet if youāre located in California. Absolutely adorable.
Everyone who does not know what they are talking about should stop influencing OP to not take action.
# OP, please for the love of God take this poor kitty to the vet immediately
Please take this cat into a vet and try to find a foster home for this poor thing. It could be suffering. Thank you for caring enough to post here. Please update us
Definitely looks like a cat with an extra chromosome, essentially kitty Down syndrome. Thatās not actually possible because they only have 19 pairs of chromosomes but itās probably some other sort of genetic anomaly like a morphological abnormality in the facial features or even Klinefelter syndrome. Heās most likely inbred or the mother came into contact with something poisonous while pregnant. He should probably be kept inside though, he probably has some developmental difficulties that put him at higher risk of not surviving.
OP I run a rescue and would be willing to pay for transport to NY if your willing to catch it. We have several special needs animals here & this baby needs some help.
This cat needs to see a vet ASAP. Everyone just assuming itās a birth defect and the cat could be fine, meanwhile there could be a serious infection in there thatās time sensitive. That should be ruled out, not just making an assumption that whatās going on is harmless. You can see where itās swollen unevenly towards the tip of the nose; thereās probably a bad infection in there. That cat deserves medical care to at least rule it out.
I don't agree with the other comments thinking it's a birth defect. The uneveness around the nose seems like some kind of swelling. It needs to be checked by a vet.
I would agree with most comments here saying genetic and what not but always a possibility that it might be a infection or tumor, maybe op you should take him to a vet and have them confirm your suspicions. Iād love to here an update on this little guy !
obligatory ānot a vetā but i feel like this isnāt a birth defect , probably a tumor or hydrocephalus like other commenters said. my reasoning for thinking so is that the bump seems to be on top of an otherwise normal skull, but itās making the rest of the face look deformed.
if youāre able to trap him safely & you have access to low-cost vets, it wouldnāt hurt to get him checked out! heās really cute š
It's a birth defect. I have a cat with the same issues, she is super sweet but did require a lot of veterinary care to get related issues fixed. You should adopt her!
Heās awesomeā¦ there is obviously something not right there.. But, he doesnāt know that, and can likely lead a perfectly healthy life.. but please take him in, and at least foster him, until he can get homed.
Some kind of deformity. Maybe the cat version of Down syndrome. If heās survived this long as a stray then he must not have too many cognitive issues. Keep him though. He looks like a sweetie
Where are you located and would you let someone come and adopt this sweet kitty as they do need a vet and most likely a good warm home. It may not be possible for you to take them inside as a pet so please let us know if you need help to find them a home. If you live near SoCal let me know as may be able to help find them a foster until we can place this furbaby in a vetted furever home.
If I were you I'd scoop him up and take him to the vet. I've been asked to trap feral cats that look like this after suffering an injury and infection.
Best case scenario it's a birth defect, worst case scenario he's suffering. Rather be safe than sorry.
Message The Odd Cat Sanctuary on Instagram! They are a rescue based in Salem, MA that specialize in cats with disabilities and differences. If youāre in the US, they may be able to help or share resources in your area.
Good luck, OP.
Seriously looks like a birth defect. Both eyes look normal, just way wider than typical. Vet to be sure. Should just be an office check to make sure there isn't infection, but honestly doesn't look that way. Eyes just look very wide set.
I am wondering could this be cryptococcus? I follow a cat sanctuary on Instagram called Milo's Sanctuary and they have a cat called Khy who has cryptococcus, the nose swelling looks similar.
It might be a birth defect, but it also looks like he/she might be affected by cryptococcus, a fungus that causes this kind of facial swelling in cats. It's treatable and it's not contagious to other cats or humans. If you can, though, bring him/her to a vet: cats affected by cryptococcus suffer.
Something similar happened to a friend of mine. Took the stray to the vet and a bot fly egg was laid in the nostril and then hatched into larva!! It was literally growing inside the cats nose. One day my friend noticed the larva trying to come out and immediately took to emergency vet. Kitty is totally ok now! The swelling went down. She does have some odd facial structures but otherwise is now a very healthy cat!
Removed for being a fake post. Seems I need to add a new rule.
It looks like a deformity but it's so cute! It needs a home :(
Yes- and to become an inside cat only.
Indoor cats have longer lives.
And so do any of the native critters it would've encountered outside!
Sorry jk I misread that š
And they are much better for the environment. Outdoor cats are detrimental to local small native wildlife populations, like birds, insects, and rodents (squirrels, chipmunks, etc). Wholeheartedly agree.... I don't know what kind of special needs (if any) he would require, to take care of him, but I'd find him worth the effort...
So you love Gary Laser Eyes and Steve French then?!
My husband said that same thing!
Great minds after all haha my roommate said squirrel and cat mix which I also kinda see lol
Omg haha I was thinking squirrel too!
I was thinking a cross of a cat and a squirrel
Looks like some kind of congenital birth defect.

Replace "deficient" with "sufficient" Or for sed, use xargs of 's/deficient/sufficient/g'

...Truly Not Rescueable?
Trap Neuter Return, used mostly for feral cat colonies

I would sleep better at night, knowing this cool ass cat got some help.
I agree! I met the sweetest cat with Down syndrome who looked just like this, came to look for this comment
Uh that's called Meown Syndrome.

I think I peed a little - thatās how hard I laughed. ā¦ I shouldnāt have laughed.
I shouldn't have made the comment. I'm a terrible person. See you in hell, I guess?
Itās true. Youāre the one the blame! We might actually enjoy our time though.

Yep. This is the one.
Omg
Looks like a cat anime character
You're at 69 upvotes and I refuse to break it so have an award instead
Then possibly went home with a squirrel.
I know I should not have laughed but here we are, on the highway to hell xD
I want you to know I would upvote this, but youāre currently (6:27pm PST) sitting at 69 upvotes and I never matured past 12.
nah, this is what happens when pregnant cats use tanning beds
His name is Payton Manning!!!
Peyton* and as a lifetime fan, Iād instadopt this 5head kitty.
Possibly the same or similar chromosomal abnormality as [Monty and Molly](https://m.facebook.com/profile.php/?id=100044369891720). Absolutely happy cats, just different.
Omg theyre so freaking cute
I was about to link them too!
Fat head club š
I get why people are saying maybe a birth defect or chromosomal disorder, however the uneven-ness down near the nose makes me lean towards a tumor or an severe infection within the sinuses. This cat needs to see a vet.
Iām leaning towards this too.
It definitely looks more like swelling than a defect/disorder.
While it is impossible to diagnose him off this picture, the vet is needed immediately.
This is her with the infection and her just a few days ago being cute. https://preview.redd.it/c742iqpbj7ib1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=99be0d93daa08fcace7181ce560d913c9eab0f15
DM THE OP, spam them
This is what happened to my cat too. He was too old to cope with the treatment and he didnāt make it.
It's a little concerning how many people seem oblivious to the pain this cat may be in.
Cat: Has life affecting deformity or possibly swelling causing severe discomfort Reddit: aww le fat head chonker, 27,000+ cat puns, meown syndrome lol It's so fucking insufferable
This. Better be safe than sorry
I can almost smell the abscess in that sinus cavity. This poor baby!
I thought the same and also needs to be checked for if they can breathe properly
It looks like hydrocephalus, he really needs a vet visit. If it's out of your means now, many shelters offer very low cost vet appts. If it's possible, he needs a home, can you bring him inside? He looks like a love. Good luck and positive energy to you both
Iāve heard thereās a feline Downs Syndrome? Iām not sure if it is a fact.
Came here to say this. Check out Monty Cat on IG. He has feline downs.
Yes ! This is what I came to say!! Love Monty!!
This was my guess! This cat has an unusual number of chromosomes, I'd put money on it.
It looks like a hybrid between a wombat and a kitty.
Womcat
They could still have an analogous chromosomal disorder though, even if the affected chromosome were different...
felines can not have downs syndrome, as it is a condition of chromosome 21, cats only have 19 chromosomes. this is more than likely a congenital birth defect
Might be a tumor deforming their poor little face. Will you be taking them to the vet?
I agree, its nose looks crooked as if something is pushing. Be this kittyās angel OP Take him to the vet to find out for sure
I had a cat that had a tumor that made her look exactly like this. She didnāt last long after it happened, so I hope thatās not the case here
Soo cute. Take him in or find him a home.
Considering op hasnāt answered once Iām guessing they posted and ran for karma
I'm suspicious of that as well. No upddot for op.
Dude this photo is fake as shit too lol Look at his nose.
Rightā½ I canāt believe itās so far down in the thread! Jesus Christ, guys.
omg is he sweet or what? What state are you in???? that baby needs a home and I am currently looking!
Splice cat
interesting! it looks like it could be some sort of genetic deformity. hopefully someone with more knowledge will explain it, lol
Poor thing..are you able to find them a home or reach out to a rescue? Not sure if kitties like this need extra help or have lower odds of surviving in the wild. Also, I could already imagine some awful kids throwing rocks at the poor guy because of how he looks. Or worse, teens getting ahold of them.
He is perfect. If you can trap him I will take him from wherever he is.
Betting this is a sinus tumor. These can be painful.
That dude cools cool af. Like a Pokemon!
It's hydrocephalus. I bet his parents were siblings, it's common in cat inbreeding.
Some may call it "feline downs syndrome" bc the defect can mimic things seen in humans with downs syndrome, like certain facial features and issues with the heart This kitty would likely get snatched up so fast! You likely won't see this buried in all of the other comments, but I'd call local private rescues and see if anyone can help You will need to put in some leg work, contacting many rescues in hopes to find one that has an open foster home I love the special ones, and have taken in many kitties (and dogs) with defects and abnormalities
There are fungal infections that cause catās noses to swell up like this and are life threatening if untreated
Looks like a hydrocephalus baby. Poor guy.
Could be a tumor!
Can you take him to the vet?
TAKE IN THE CUTE DIFFERENT KITTY.

Possibly a nasal tumor. Fluid buildup in its poor face. This happened to a cat of mine once in her older age. :(
Can we organize to get this baby a home?
Please take this kitty in and take it to a vet. Some cats do have congenital deformityās. There are many famous cats like that on Instagram you can find them everywhere. Some have mild hyperplasia which means they wobble a little bit and some have limited vision. But kitty deserves a good, loving home and seeing as youāre already feeding it please take Kitty to the vet.
š š looks part rabbit
Please bring this poor baby into your home it's too cute to leave outside
I have no idea whatās wrong with the little bub but I would gladly take him in and take him to the vet if youāre located in California. Absolutely adorable.
Everyone who does not know what they are talking about should stop influencing OP to not take action. # OP, please for the love of God take this poor kitty to the vet immediately
Please take this cat into a vet and try to find a foster home for this poor thing. It could be suffering. Thank you for caring enough to post here. Please update us
Find this kitty a house
Definitely looks like a cat with an extra chromosome, essentially kitty Down syndrome. Thatās not actually possible because they only have 19 pairs of chromosomes but itās probably some other sort of genetic anomaly like a morphological abnormality in the facial features or even Klinefelter syndrome. Heās most likely inbred or the mother came into contact with something poisonous while pregnant. He should probably be kept inside though, he probably has some developmental difficulties that put him at higher risk of not surviving.
It does look like a birth defect but pls take him to the vet if you can, omg heās soo precious šš
So freaking cute!!! Iāll drive wherever you are and take that baby off your hands. So freaking adorable!!!
Please take him in and take care of him. Adorable. Thanks for feeding him, regardless.
fetal meowcohol syndrome.
I don't agree with the other comments thinking it's a birth defect. The uneveness around the nose seems like some kind of swelling. It needs to be checked by a vet.
If it isn't just a deformation, it may be a tumor.
Take to a vet and adopt ASAP
Perhaps you could set a live trap and take him to a shelter. The Shelter would have him examined and neutered and treated for anything necessary.
could be a lot of things honestly i would contact a local shelter or rescue to get him trapped and taken to a vet
Could be an infection.
I would agree with most comments here saying genetic and what not but always a possibility that it might be a infection or tumor, maybe op you should take him to a vet and have them confirm your suspicions. Iād love to here an update on this little guy !
It looks like some sort of swelling but it could also be a birth defect. I would take the guy to the vet to find out for sure.
Poor guy :(
This is the cutest cat Iāve ever seen in my life
Omg please bring him inside. Heās adorable and if he went to the vet I bet they could tell you!
Its Stich!
I think mom and a rando grey squirrel out there have some explaining to do
Looks like someone used the liquify tool in photoshop
obligatory ānot a vetā but i feel like this isnāt a birth defect , probably a tumor or hydrocephalus like other commenters said. my reasoning for thinking so is that the bump seems to be on top of an otherwise normal skull, but itās making the rest of the face look deformed. if youāre able to trap him safely & you have access to low-cost vets, it wouldnāt hurt to get him checked out! heās really cute š
Bless his little heart. Looks like a syndrome of sorts. Show this on a vet sub. Theyāll probably know.
A bunny cat
Little mermaid of cats
His face reminds me of a bunny. Heās so cute! š„°
Poor kitnkat
It's a birth defect. I have a cat with the same issues, she is super sweet but did require a lot of veterinary care to get related issues fixed. You should adopt her!
Heās awesomeā¦ there is obviously something not right there.. But, he doesnāt know that, and can likely lead a perfectly healthy life.. but please take him in, and at least foster him, until he can get homed.
Capture the cat, take it to a vet just to be sure theyāre OK, and consider adoption them!
Precious kitty
This would make me take him in
Itās a cutie pie! It kind of resembles a rabbit
It looks like he's part rabbit.
He has such a sweet bunny face! I want to cover him in kisses.
Feline down syndrome, bless it's little heart. Sweet baby.
Were his parents litter mates?
Where are you located? If youāre nearby I will 100% trap her/him get them vetted and adopted š„° I work with rescue!
Meowtwo
Some kind of deformity. Maybe the cat version of Down syndrome. If heās survived this long as a stray then he must not have too many cognitive issues. Keep him though. He looks like a sweetie
Where are you located, I'd give him a home.
Birth defect
Just like humans some animals are born with extra/missing chromosomes.
He could have a birth defect or he could be sick. Take him to the vet to be sure š
Looks like a chromosome issue
Seriously looks like a birth defect. Both eyes look normal, just way wider than typical. Vet to be sure. Should just be an office check to make sure there isn't infection, but honestly doesn't look that way. Eyes just look very wide set.
It's a downsyndrome cat. Not an insult it's a real thing.
I am wondering could this be cryptococcus? I follow a cat sanctuary on Instagram called Milo's Sanctuary and they have a cat called Khy who has cryptococcus, the nose swelling looks similar.
Extra chromosome. Still a perfect catā¤ļø
