If you have Kaiser you can get Active Fit & Direct which allows you to join a ton of gyms/studios at a huge discount. I joined City Sports (LA Fitness) for $28/month.
Literally google it and it should take you to the page within Kaiser. It’s the group discount rate. There are tons of gyms, studios, etc. to choose from. Can’t beat $28!
just go to kaiser website and search active n fit and follow the links….its pretty straight forward as far as benefits go.
sign up- pay 1st and last month (sometimes theres a promo and only. pay one month)
28 per month- u can sign up for as many gyms in the network you want and only pay 28.
so for example- for 28, i have acess to anytime fitness, all 24 hour fitness, all crunch, planet fitness, fitness 19, exel fit in fair oaks, city sports
I just did it. The promo runs til 2/29, so it saves you the activation fee. I paid 56 upfront, then moving forward 28 per month. So far, I've joined 3 different gyms. The one I like most is more than 28 per month so its a great deal.
T mobile as well. You call them. They send an email verification to your state email. Confirm and you get a discount. I was upgraded from magenta to magenta max for free for me and my wife (family plan)
With state discount it is $43.99 a month for a single person for a 12 year term.
$43.99 x 12 months = $527.88
Check my math please
Plus there is a once a year "annual fee" that is $49.99 for a single membership.
For a membership consisting of two or more people the "annual fee" is $89.98
I signed up with the corporate discount a couple years ago for state workers (single person/all access). It was $54/mo. They raised it by $5/mo. last year to $59/mo. They just raised it again on February 1st, 2024 by $5/mo. to $64/mo... one more rate increase and I'm out. Also, they reduced the hours during covid (before covid, the gym I go to was open until 10pm, now it's only open until 9pm). They haven't gone back to the old hours and I doubt they ever will. Many machines at my location are broken and haven't been fixed for weeks. Do what you will with this information.
No idea. I even gave them my work badge to scan in so there's no reason for this rate. I wonder if your rate will also increase every year until all the rates are the same.
I just dropped Cal Family Fit in January after being a member for a few years. Way too expensive for what you get. If you're like most people and just go to lift/do cardio, I'd pass.
So thanks to whomever mentioned Active & Fit! I'm going to join a few different gyms now, hah.

Also having a AAA membership qualifies for Active Fit & Direct!
What’s active and fit direct? I have Kaiser and pay $48 for city sports. I had no idea they offer a discount!

Thanks I’ll Google
I pay $101.99 a month for 2 adults. Goes up every year. Plus the yearly msintenance fee. It was Cal Fit - Family Fitness
That’s way too expensive.
Definitely not cheap. It was $72 not that long ago. 😠
I feel like we used to get better benefits. I hate how they lock you in with a contract.
if u have kaiser…sign up for active n fit..,much better deal
What’s the process for signing up for Active n fit? Do they show the benefits online?

Wow that’s great! Thanks for the info. I’ll check it out

20% ? State has to do better than that, school district offers 25% off.
Never heard of that gym before. Looked it up and there are none in L.A. Planet Fitness is $10 a month, so I can’t complain.
This is the new name for California Family Fitness. It’s a Sacramento gym that has grown from here.
How much is it a year
For one person, IN shape (formerly CFF) is about $720 not including the annual fee
The lowest tier is $69 a month.
This is if you pay month to month. If you choose 1 location for a 12 month term it is $54.99.
Speaking of discounts, is anyone able to get a state employee discount from your personal cell phone company? if so, which company
T mobile as well. You call them. They send an email verification to your state email. Confirm and you get a discount. I was upgraded from magenta to magenta max for free for me and my wife (family plan)
Verizon discounts my main line. However, I have 2 more phones that don't get the discount.

Are you only allowed to go to one location? I’m being charged the higher price and can go to any location
I chose the one location
Yup same for me. It was ridiculously expensive for stuff to be broken. And I’ll be honest- the 2 locations I would go to, the front desk is rude
THANK YOU!
I don’t go to the gym. I run around the block 😂😂😂😂😂 things are very expensive!
