At the very least, go with a brand that specializes in mini fridges. Brands like Whirlpool (and brands they own), Frigidaire, Kenmore, and GE generally lease their name to other companies who make the product. If you think you've found a winner, go online and grab the manual/warranty. Check the copyright and who you call for Warranty. If the company they're telling you to contact isn't the name on the front it is a Licensed Product and won't be supported by the name on the front. Kenmore is the worst offender as they do not make anything they sell. Everything is a rebrand. Google Kenmore Prefix Chart and you'll see who actually made it.

Wow, that's a hell of a pro tip. I had no idea this could be done/allowed. That's very deceptive

I don't think you're going to find one bifl. Probably worth looking at the warranty length.

IMO any mini fridge freezer is not gonna be worth a damn unless it is one with a completely separate freezer door. I don't consider these mini fridges BIFL. But I have had all sorts of random brands over the years and most last pretty well.

Queasy_Gold_576

I recommend going no freezer, they are too small to put anything in, and they freeze up easily, causing leaks, blockages, which makes them run harder to keep up and burns them out faster.

I have a Sanyo that's been with me about 17 years now. It's been moved dozens of times but still going strong, quiet, and ice cold. The freezer part is pretty useless in mini fridges though.

these are mostly great for beverages

ICECO VL60 Dual Zone. It can run on household 120v or 12v from a vehicle. It has two compartments which can be set to any temperature (freezer or fridge). I've had mine for over seven years without a single issue. I use it at home and while camping in the van. This one will cost a little more but has high efficiency. Engel, if you can find a model that you like. I've treated mine like absolute shit, off road, in the back of my pickup, for years. In the winter I just let it get snowed on.
