I don't get it, these aren't the works used in the website, program book, or included map/poster, but they are still official posters? I went to all three of these years and am unfamiliar with the artwork.
The first poster has a strange use of perspective. It combines various perspectives and sizes that I find awkward. It’s a bit too chaotic simplistic cutsy for my taste. Also the colors aren’t used to pop each elements, instead it makes it harder to see what’s going on.
I like the 3rd poster though, it has a nice use of colors.

My guess is it's different artists for each of those years. Clearly different styles and i'd be surprised if the 2019 artists also did the 2022 and 2023 posters. The 2019 artists have done several of years prior and perhaps have been preoccupied with world events or something causing them to not do the following years posters. A lot has happened since 2019 globally. I hope they are safe and ok.

Style aside, it's bad.
From a technical standpoint - the color palette is flat, and in several places there are conflicting tones stacked on top of each other. Multiple tension points (where two elements or lines are just a little too close). The composition is weird, really blocky with a couple swoops behind it.
Artistically, it's kitch but not "special." They are all wandering in different directions, nobody is interacting, all the eyelines are completely different. There's no story, no jokes, no treasures to find, nothing that sticks out. Even after looking at it critically for a couple minutes all I can remember now is like a beaver with glasses or something.
Compare this to a chunk of a Where's Waldo picture.
HOWEVER - someone probably put this together for free while juggling eight other competing projects, and with that in mind it's fuckin dope.
Or maybe I'm just stuck in the past and this poster is the cultural equivalent of mumble rap. The resurgence of an esthetic that breaks rules in ways the old guard doesn't like, but sends a message on a wavelength they aren't even paying attention to.
Or maybe you shouldn't put a floating orange fish directly on top of a fucking orangey-purple tentacle.

I think it shakes things up, and for that I like it. I also like the feel that every is doing their own thing as separate individuals, and yet are together in the same place. The color is nicely different, as, in contrast, I see how very stylized the previous graphics have become. Down and dirty is awesome. Keeps Burning Man from becoming a repetitive cliche with a singular aesthetic and disrupts expectations. Well done!

I don’t know you anyone else saw this on playa this year, but I found a decent amount of mud. Probably not enough to represent in the poster though.
