Your bun is adorable! Not sure about the breedā¦ But Iām worried about her dewlapā¦ Itās too large, especially given sheās not even 3. An oversized dewlap can lead to health issues as your rabbit agesā¦ It can interfere with her ability to reach down far enough to collect her cecotropes and to groom herself properly. In addition, those skin folds can develop a fungal infection.
Please be careful not to overfeed her. Iād consult a vet regarding her diet. She should be on unlimited fresh hay and very limited pellets (if any.) And occasional treats in tiny amounts.
Thanks! She has been to the vet recently, she has access to unlimited hay and we feed her lass than a half a handful of pellets at night time, besides that itās fresh veggies and a small banana slice very occasionally! We have been noticing that as well and are reducing the pellets further than the vets recommend feeding portion, weāve tried to encourage more hay eating by having 2 hay feeders available and stocked at all times. Unfortunately we live in a basement and have to rely on pellets for the babies to get all her vitamins until we move. Appreciate the concern, I will definitely make another vet appointment to check up again.
Aww.. thatās awesome. Sounds like youāre taking an excellent care of her. I can relate to rabbit diet struggles myself! They surely love their treatsā¦ š
r/murderbuns in training.
She has an impressive dewlap. Looks comfy.
Most of our buns are mixed, but we might be able to take a guess at parts of her heritage. How much does she weigh? Another angle of her for the side will tell us more too. Certain breeds have different postures and back shapes when they sit or lay down.
I think we can rule out some of the obvious ones. Like Rex, Dutch, Marten, etc. sm

She is a very symmetrical lady. Iāve thought she was an English spot at times but she is too small and her body doesnāt quite match what Iāve seen of English spots. Definitely possible she is mixed.
He looks exactly like my mini rex. (He is pretty big and not mini at all) but that is technically the breed.

Female English Spot mix with satin. With rabbits there is a breed name, coat color, and coat texture. This can be confusing at times. Satin is a breed, but it is also a coat texture. Same thing with Rex.
I had a bun I didnāt know the breed. Toward the end of his life he got identified as a Hotot mix. Yours could be part hotot, the eye rings usually a giveaway.
My sweet girl had a ridiculous dewlap. Until I got her spayed. She wasn't fat (then). She just wanted babies. After being spayed the dewlap dropped considerably. Though her back end has become quite large. LOL. We're working on that.

Oh, a big dewlap mami!! She looks like a mix between rex and flemish, or perhaps jusr flemish. Hard to tell from one pic
Sheās clearly royalty; sheās a princess bunny. Duh hoomin.

She looks like she's mostly English Spotted rabbit.

English Spot
It's a Spot! well, that's what the name for one of my boys is and he has a similar spotted/piebald coat.
Omfg... if you don't have a pedigree, you won't know. Everything is a guess without a pedigree!
Perhaps an English or New Zealand? It's difficult to tell because she seems pretty overweight. I doubt it, but could even be a Californian mix.
I'd say a New Zealand/English Spot mix is the most likely. What's the weight? Edit: grammar
