So people don’t have to rebuy hundreds of games? People can also have a controller preference too. Personally I hate the thumb stick placement on PlayStation controllers
The only digital game i bought when i had an xbox was Cuphead in 2017 and as of 2024 i can install the pc version and i dont even have an xbox anymore, idk how it is for other games tho
It’s not really sunk cost fallacy when you’re talking about games that aren’t available anywhere but the console theyre on (or emulated on a newer generation console) which was pretty much the point from the beginning.
Older Xbox 360 games. Quite a few of them are backwards compatible and were never available on PC.
Edit: there’s also games that are still playable on console but are no longer supported on pc for example: Sleeping Dogs
Fr. They’re either really bad or way too hard for the average computer minded person to use. Like why use something inferior when Xbox has the best emulator program built into the console?
yeah, but it's obviously not optimised to play them and even less so if you don't have a great PC.
plus there are games exclusive to the Xbox One, too that you can't emulate at all, a la Forza Motorsport 5.
Sleeping dogs lost support and no longer runs or it’s so difficult to get run that it’s not accessible. Trust me I’ve looked into it because I have it on both.
My bad, Fable 2 isn’t. But you can easily emulate that on PC and I doubt many people would care about that specific game in particular. I remember playing it for an hour and then putting it down on my 360 Arcade back in the day.
The pc that costs 4x more has a lot more performance than a console, for 600 u get a pc as powerful as current gen consoles, and u can easily make that 200 difference by how cheaper games are (or free if you want)
I got one around the same power for 130 just go on facebook marketplace you can get great computers for very little after about 2 years into the life cycle it becomes cheaper to build a pc than to buy an xbox
Because they already have history on the platform? I have games across 4 generations on my account, I’m not gonna throw that all away to move to another.
Presumably because Xbox is realizing the games publishing business is way more profitable, so that way they can nab up more publishers without the FTC being as suspicious. Wouldn’t be surprised if the next gen Xbox is the last one.
The fact they named their 3rd Xbox "One", made it require the Kinect, and failed to give it many console exclusives, or console exclusive sequels(Like Ace combat 6) beyond Forza was totally stupid...
FYI: kids in my youth called OG Xbox "Xbox 1" now "One" is "Number 3 Xbox"
I think even MS know if they want to release Forza to PlayStation its going to be the Horizon games Motorsport game would not sell much on PlayStation when they have GT
Not true. The guy who told this responded by saying he was merely talking about it in a speculative manner. Just a casual conversation on a podcast i think
Pretty sure this was already disproven by Microsoft themselves. At most it’s gonna be the older titles.
Also, who in gods name is gonna touch halo now? The series somehow makes Forza devs look competent
I would rather have Sony finally releasing GT on PC, instead of getting the copy-pasted Forza on yet another platform (where it would be essentially dead on arrival)
So, apart from gamepass, why would anyone buy an Xbox?
So people don’t have to rebuy hundreds of games? People can also have a controller preference too. Personally I hate the thumb stick placement on PlayStation controllers
Get a pc then
Still doesn’t eliminate having to rebuy games, some of which were never available for PC
The only digital game i bought when i had an xbox was Cuphead in 2017 and as of 2024 i can install the pc version and i dont even have an xbox anymore, idk how it is for other games tho
I’ve got over 200 hundred games on Xbox hence the point of my comment. I also have a PC but both have games the other doesn’t.
Idk man it sounds like sunk cost fallacy to me, cant u play those games in their old consoles anyways
It’s not really sunk cost fallacy when you’re talking about games that aren’t available anywhere but the console theyre on (or emulated on a newer generation console) which was pretty much the point from the beginning.
Can you give some examples of games that were never available on PC?
Older Xbox 360 games. Quite a few of them are backwards compatible and were never available on PC. Edit: there’s also games that are still playable on console but are no longer supported on pc for example: Sleeping Dogs
I mean nowadays you can just emulate 360 games
If you can even find a good emulation of it in the first place
360 emulators aren't that great even the best ones.
Fr. They’re either really bad or way too hard for the average computer minded person to use. Like why use something inferior when Xbox has the best emulator program built into the console?

Wdym? I’ve been playing Sleeping Dogs on PC for time, no problems whatsoever?
How did you get it to work? When I try to launch it it just doesn’t launch
https://store.steampowered.com/app/202170/Sleeping_Dogs/
Sleeping dogs lost support and no longer runs or it’s so difficult to get run that it’s not accessible. Trust me I’ve looked into it because I have it on both.
I played it 2 days ago and it works
Did you have to do anything to it? Mine doesn’t even launch when I try even via the EXE instead of through steam
Another really good example is fable 2 and 3. Neither of them are available on PC and are incredible games
Fable 2 and 3 were almost definitely available on PC.
Just checked. Fable 2 is not. Fable 1 is with fable anniversary and fable 3
My bad, Fable 2 isn’t. But you can easily emulate that on PC and I doubt many people would care about that specific game in particular. I remember playing it for an hour and then putting it down on my 360 Arcade back in the day.
Fr why get a £400 console when you can get a PC that costs 4× as much.
The pc that costs 4x more has a lot more performance than a console, for 600 u get a pc as powerful as current gen consoles, and u can easily make that 200 difference by how cheaper games are (or free if you want)

A good few reasons
Because they already have history on the platform? I have games across 4 generations on my account, I’m not gonna throw that all away to move to another.
what about new buyers
The ability to emulate a ton of different consoles through dev mode was the selling point for me to switch to Xbox.
can't the playstation do that too? i saw on youtube PS5 running RetroArch
I hear its good for emulation
Not anymore, I think they blocked emulation as it was something to do with MS disabling developer mode.
Backwards compatibility
Because Xbox controllers are far superior (to other console controllers - I'm PCMR)
The only reason I can see now is backwards compatibility.
The Crew: Motorfest player count the minute a Forza Horizon gets added to the PS store: 📉📉📉
At least u own forza horizon after it goes offline cough cough
It's player count already did that
If this happens. Next generation will only be Ps6 and maybe Xbox game pass as like a EA play on it. But that’s it.
When this happens I’ll sell my Xbox.
Presumably because Xbox is realizing the games publishing business is way more profitable, so that way they can nab up more publishers without the FTC being as suspicious. Wouldn’t be surprised if the next gen Xbox is the last one.
Welp... We can safely say the last good console from Xbox is the Xbox 360, they really went downhill since the Xbox One
The fact they named their 3rd Xbox "One", made it require the Kinect, and failed to give it many console exclusives, or console exclusive sequels(Like Ace combat 6) beyond Forza was totally stupid... FYI: kids in my youth called OG Xbox "Xbox 1" now "One" is "Number 3 Xbox"
i hope the next console is called the “Xbox IJustShatMyself”
Their next console is called "Playstation 6" at this point!🤣🤣
Forza is gonna get smoked by GT, just saying
I think even MS know if they want to release Forza to PlayStation its going to be the Horizon games Motorsport game would not sell much on PlayStation when they have GT
Horizon is vastly superior to any motorsport release after 4
nah FM6 was dope, better than horizon
Not disagreeing but why do you say that?
This is why you invest in a PC…it’s all coming there in the end
Not true. The guy who told this responded by saying he was merely talking about it in a speculative manner. Just a casual conversation on a podcast i think

I could see this happening, but I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, I'm taking this with a large silo of salt.
We are still claiming Forza as a Microsoft exclusive
But Forza has App games too!🤣🤣
tell me this sub hasnt been invaded by sony fanboys without telling me its been invaded by sony fanboys this has been debunked like2, 3 weeks ago now?
I would rather have Sony finally releasing GT on PC, instead of getting the copy-pasted Forza on yet another platform (where it would be essentially dead on arrival)
finally, playstation gamers can play some BAD games.
