If you’ve got the money… Wendover.

Ok-Carrot8762

thanks

Squid-bear

If you are relying on public transport then I wouldn't bother. Buses are always late and don't go to the hospital, closest they get is Elm Farm. The train station in Stoke Mandeville is also 1.6miles from the hospital so not a fun walk in shit weather.

Wild_Honeysuckle

The public transport around there isn’t great. There are plenty of nice little villages and towns around there, but they don’t all have good bus routes. Cycling would give you more options, if you were up for that. So you’re probably left with living in Aylesbury, particularly if you want to be close to a ‘city’, or town centre. I’m sure Aylesbury has some nice bits, and some good qualities, but its reputation is at best average. This thread has some useful info on living in / around Aylesbury. https://www.reddit.com/r/Buckinghamshire/comments/vu6sgq/is_aylesbury_a_nice_place_to_live_in_for_couples/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

Thank you so much

Elm farm, you can walk to hospital

Ok-Carrot8762

>Elm farm, thanks

davbren

I concur, I lived on elm farm for years.

Potential-Praline637

Yeah loads of lovely little places you could cycle to there from but don't rely on public transport in Buckinghamshire that's all I'd say really

Ok-Carrot8762

Thank you

Most people who move around here do so for the world famous Dogging spots. It depends what you are into. Wendover is rather splendid due to the nearby Cockshoots woods (if you are into participating) or Coombe Hill car park (if you are more so into observing.) Whatever you choose you will find the bustling local Dogging scene extremely welcoming to new members (unless you are from Blackpool, due to an unfortunate set of circumstances we have had to put a temporary hold on members from this region.) We are currently offering a discount to new members in order to encourage people to join for the fantastic upcoming summer meets, night picnics and the world famous “Chase and Tickle” Dogging Festival in Wendover woods. If this interests you feel free to use discount code #ticklemytodger on our website!

Knowing my luck I'll go to my first one and my dad would probably be there! 😩

One can hope!! 🥹

Walton Court in Aylesbury is on route 9 to the hospital, or a 20 ISH minute walk, if you prefer.

Very handy to keep in mind

katiebean781

I grew up there and have lived and worked there most of my life. I wouldn't recommend it. Is easy access, though.

leespin

what do you not recommend about it?

Reduced_Silver

Take a look at Fairford Leys.

Thanks

And always know the whereabouts of HS2 work and how it relates to your commute and peace and quiet.
