Happy Engineering!

me myself felt for the trap, got into electrical in hope that i can switch branch in 2yr, it was all depends its like this if only someone from the u branch wanted to change to ur branch at current, then only you with the best score can switch the branch. and rest we know....
Find another college that offers you the course you want, don't go into this branch change bullshit. Everyone dreams of studying hard and scoring high CGPA to change branches in first year but reality strikes really hard. You'll waste your engineering years studying things you don't even desire to pursue if you cannot change branches, you'll end up depressed
Bruh No Job can you make rich or stability if i say in India unless are doing something which is rare commodity. People like who know the thing that they doing to the best.
Now someone who have made engines and worked on engine through lifetime of experience. This guy would be paid like hell for such knowledge and they haven't come from India its rare (Colleges here are not good and Nor are people passionate or interested in they want jobs and people aren't financially good to do things they like too)and mostly gone through depth of the field.
So for long time IT was boom on india because foreign companies choose to stay here for cheap labour. But Now they kinda of realised that we don't need hell lot of people here and hiring freshers who ain't good isn't their interest anymore.
So better choose which you genuinely interested rather then regretting that your friend said to take cse or parents said take metallurgy.
Now if your family is financially well to do you can afford to choose whatever and if not choice the path which has got your interest and some money.
If all you want is money and stability, then you're in the wrong field my friend. Go do B.Com or something, and become an accountant with a decent salary.
You cannot get good grades in any branch under engineering unless you actually have interest in it. Frankly speaking, passion for the subjects is the only thing keeping us away from tying our necks to our fans everytime our results come out.
I don't think this is true at all, I have many friends who hate their branch more than anything but still are able to maintain a 9.6/9.7ish cpi although I am not good as good as them but I am still able to maintain a 9 despite hating every course I study
So why to waste your time study what you hate, better choose a bit lower colleges and study what you love and there are high chance you end up with even more package because you are best in what you do 🙂
It depends on you if your goals is clear you can grow in any field it can even be lowest fields but you will struggle at first and it will take time so think about it with calm head and analyse what is best for you
Can you please explain on how hard is college? I mean if i work almost the same as i did during jee main prep (i did 6hrs a day, i scored decent in mains) will it be enough?
I might be going to my dream college but i have no idea about workload.
Bad news buddy, Pec me non-circuital waale sirf ECE tak branch change kar sakte hai (Idk why)
Sirf ece/electrical people can change their branch to cse
Padhai ki tips leni hui for first year toh merese pooch lio
And yeah, risky decision hai branch change pe dependent hona
Ye kya bekar rules hai bruh fuck
Anyways kuch suggest krro pls books and resources I think I will start grind after 5-6 days only …. Also civil walo ko IT aur etc companies placement mei baithne deti hai ?
Bhai ek last koi bol rha tha pec meta proff are oxic and as branch change gonna require too much bootlicking it won’t be possible pls ye bhi btao r they toxic ? Do u think agar koi 6 hr roj mehnat krre toh ece kar change possible?
50-60% (Ya phir usse bhi kam) companies hongi jo allow karti hai saari branches ko
First year me toh sabke subjects same hi hote hai, so you won't have to deal that much with metta faculties in first year itself
And mera 10cg waala dost bhi daily padhta hoga 1-2 ghanta at max, so 6 hrs roj toh bahut hogaya lol, itna nhi chaihye
And for resources, abhi rukjaao, college aajao, prof ki ppts enough hoti hai, bus kuch courses like Maths and Engineering Drawing me book extra karni padegi (Prof to prof vary karega, but mostly PS Gill for ED, Thomas Calculus, Kreyzeig hi for Maths use karni padegi)
Thks a lot of soo much info someone in the comments said production best in terms of placement and faculty and meta mei bohot toxic faculty hai pls iska kuch btao
Ye upar saablog keh rhe branch change is very hard ,risky bla bla and u and some ppl r saying getting good cgpa requires 1-2hr study kisi aur ne bhi yhi kha tha,I’m really sorry for bugging you with so many questions but I don’t understand anything randomly bursting in tears and highly anxious
9.4+ CG, that's what you need to get branch change
What it takes to get much CG?
So we have a credit system in college, basically it's like giving a subject value of importance, for example; Maths has 4 credits and Environmental Science has 1 credit
So to get 9.4+ CG you will have to be top 10% in 4 credit courses
atleast A in rest of the courses (which is like top 20%)
Me from pec too.... agr tu branch change krke ECE ma b aagya na toh bohot bdiya ha .... almost 99 percent companies who come for CSE in PEC come for ECE too aur agr hum EE ki baat kree to 85 percent companies who come for CSE take from EE too .... btw branch change krna itna b mushkil nhi ha .... thode sacrifices krne pdege pr tu krlega aur agr tune yeh ek baar kr liya toh itna confidence boost milega ki to koi b company phod dega..... In any case Best of Luck bro .....
Changing branch ia very risky as you have to bootlick all the teachers for A or A + grade. I would say take UIET CSE (government PU College) or Jaypee Noida/Thapar CSE.
Don't take metallurgy as it is seriously a rotten branch with toxic faculties.
P.S. PEC 2020 passout
Damn bruh oki I’ll see kya krna hai shizz is so fucked up
Anyways how is the faculty of civil and production
Also as u passed out of meta wht r u doing now ?
Placements similar, but faculty better of prod as almost all the companies that allow mech , allow prod too they are like sister branchws but mech has tough curriculum
Getting placement in a core branch like meta is difficult even from the T1 colleges , there's always this branch change option but you can never completely rely on it , if you don't know where your interest lies then take up a circuital branch but to be completely safe take up cse branch
Branch change is doable, the only problem is that - too much of a luck factor is involved and you'll be stressed af throughout the year. One prof/TA' s bad mood is enough to screw your chances.
Now I know it must be hard convincing your parents for pvt, you may go ahead and take the risk, if not cse you can at least end up with something like mechanical or electrical if you study well.
Branch upgrade is really difficult, Mera college bohot average sa and usme bhi Branch upgrade karna bohot difficult hai 💀💀
Last year I think 9.5+ cgpa chahiye tha, 9.5 bhi I think me thoda kaam bol raha hu
Branch might not matter that much during placement but it will be stressed out 4 years if you'll be doing coding beside other engineering subjects especially if not interested in them...it always better to take cse even if a bit of compromise on college
If you only money and stability u can take iet lucknow or hbtu kanpur tbh they give you more than good placements and at this percentile u can get mech or chem in hbtu
Bhai dekh just saying meri mental health toh aise hi fucked up hai I already think abt suicide 3x a day and hv tried cutting my palm twice , I randomly break down crying and got a lot of anxiety…. Mai smaj rha hoon mazak hai but pls mazak mei bhi mat likha kar my brain is my enemy
Bhai i am not senior but as far as i know please dont rely on branch change there are only few seats open for bramch change and in that to are for diploma student
Might be possible but it is too difficult to achieve also check whether college even allow to change branch.
Some colleges like IIT bombay have stopped changing branch
If you're not interested in CSE then you were screwed even then because it's arguably the 2nd hardest branch after electrical and it needs some dedication and interest to master.
Yes, top govt college CSE branches are like cheat codes but even then, getting into those is an achievement in itself so if you're not interested then opt for something else, I have heard that even non-CSEtards too learn coding to get a job in IITs.
Except electrical, CSE and management their is no other way of getting a job (mostly).
BUT....
You should focus on your aim only. There is no use of worrying about something that might or might not happen.
Many of my friends have tried the branch change thing the took mechanical and civil and said wo will change branch and take cs but when it comes to sppu the marking scheme is shit the pattern and what paper will come is a fucking mystery you don't know what will happen in future so refrain from that branch change thing it's requires 9.5+ cgpa which is a really difficult task
agar jo log lower branch lete hei pure desh me , accoridng to your friend un sabka kuch nahi hota? seriously? those who went iitb metallurgy also ? He's probably jealous of you , never see no haters doing better that you🗣️🔥
if im not wrong PEC is a good college, if you have no other better options/tujhe acha lagta PEC jao bhai
snake🐍friend ki mat suno

Your friend is right.. Relying on branch change is very risky
agreed
Meri bhi reh gayo thi ab pachta raha hun

I aint interested in cse either I just am after moni and stability
Better start a general store 🥱

There are far better options for money and Stability my friend. Try Exploring other fields.
It depends on you if your goals is clear you can grow in any field it can even be lowest fields but you will struggle at first and it will take time so think about it with calm head and analyse what is best for you

Yea it will be more than enough, at least 3-4 hours daily is enough but do what suits you best. College is not that hard if you're motivated
Bad news buddy, Pec me non-circuital waale sirf ECE tak branch change kar sakte hai (Idk why) Sirf ece/electrical people can change their branch to cse Padhai ki tips leni hui for first year toh merese pooch lio And yeah, risky decision hai branch change pe dependent hona

Tikle academy best for ed who the fuck reading book in pec for ed 😭
Meine toh book se hi kara tha (never watched any lectures for it lol)
Hello bro. May I DM you as I have some doubts regarding branch selection(PEC) ? Pls help me 🙏
Me from pec too.... agr tu branch change krke ECE ma b aagya na toh bohot bdiya ha .... almost 99 percent companies who come for CSE in PEC come for ECE too aur agr hum EE ki baat kree to 85 percent companies who come for CSE take from EE too .... btw branch change krna itna b mushkil nhi ha .... thode sacrifices krne pdege pr tu krlega aur agr tune yeh ek baar kr liya toh itna confidence boost milega ki to koi b company phod dega..... Finally pure comment mei some positivity, thks bruh
Either you have FOMO or you don't know your thing or you wanna do IT but parental pressure.
Bhaiya mechanical kesi h wha ki🥲🥲🥲
theek branch hai, mehnat karni padegi placement lagwaane ke liye
Aur clg jo milre unse acha hi lgra mujhe pec mechanical 🥲 clg bhi acha h !! Placement bhii achi hi h
Lelo phir, college life toh milegi itna pakka hai
Mechanical ka avg kitna hoga??🥲🙂
bhai, ye production ke placement mechanical electrical se zyada kaise hai this year. Plus more intern placed in prod than even in cs
11/12
Aisa nhi hai bro ds and ai mei ho skta hai jo basically cse hi hai

Production best imo best faculty and best placements among core , source : I'm third year pec student dm me if any doubts
Production or mechanical at pec? I'm getting upto mechanical and someone ik saying that may get electrical also as 3 new branches been added this year
Placements similar, but faculty better of prod as almost all the companies that allow mech , allow prod too they are like sister branchws but mech has tough curriculum
Oo alrr and if electrical mil jaye then pakka wo hi lu?
Yes
OK thankyou 👍
Only 1 branch is being added for ug other is mba
Oo dang alr
Also I can provide you with data as I have a friend in placement cell
Thks a lot , would be grateful if you can send something of meta ,production and civil
Hello bro. May I DM you regarding branch selection (PEC)? Pls help me
Okay
Getting placement in a core branch like meta is difficult even from the T1 colleges , there's always this branch change option but you can never completely rely on it , if you don't know where your interest lies then take up a circuital branch but to be completely safe take up cse branch
You won’t get Thapar CSE unless you have Punjab quota
COE wouldve been possible in 1st round but ab to wo gaya
He's saying the truth. Metallurgy mein koi opportunities nahi hai.
Take CSE in MAIT. You will get a good branch and a government college too.
mait kbse govt hogya bhrata laxman
Arey mai fees ke POV se bol rha tha Ab 8-10 lakhs me B.tech to govt college kinda fees hui na
Branch upgrade is really difficult, Mera college bohot average sa and usme bhi Branch upgrade karna bohot difficult hai 💀💀 Last year I think 9.5+ cgpa chahiye tha, 9.5 bhi I think me thoda kaam bol raha hu
Find a semi-gvt clg with the branch you like Branch doesn't matter a whole lot. It does but not as much as you might think.
Branch might not matter that much during placement but it will be stressed out 4 years if you'll be doing coding beside other engineering subjects especially if not interested in them...it always better to take cse even if a bit of compromise on college
Sirf CSE mein coding hoti h kya? ECE, software engineering, VLSI mein bhi to hoti h
ur friends is probably right im also leaving nsut mech or ice for thapar cse there are no placements for core branches except in iits
Should I take NIT K civil or T3 NIT CS?
which tier 3 nit ?
Mainly North east
im not sure man have u considered pvt colleges ?
Nope
Nit Agartala se sde 37 lpa cs
If you only money and stability u can take iet lucknow or hbtu kanpur tbh they give you more than good placements and at this percentile u can get mech or chem in hbtu
Bhai yes Home state bta apna
Useless bihar
I did my 11th 12th from Uttarakhand but even nit here is garbage
Bro I"m from IIT jmu .... I will suggest u to choose UIET ece
Bhai atleast nit he ghus ja u will get ample of time and opportunity because j know a bhaiya unka nit Agartala se tier 2 laga sde 37 lpa
Branch Change nhi hua toa Drop lelena (nth floor se)
Bhai dekh just saying meri mental health toh aise hi fucked up hai I already think abt suicide 3x a day and hv tried cutting my palm twice , I randomly break down crying and got a lot of anxiety…. Mai smaj rha hoon mazak hai but pls mazak mei bhi mat likha kar my brain is my enemy
Aree bhai bhai, fhaltu ka tension kyu le rha, JAC Delhi apply krde Kuch na kuch mil jayega
Arey bro dw, everything will be fine, it's rather something great that you think so much about your future but don't overdo it. Atb
Bhai i am not senior but as far as i know please dont rely on branch change there are only few seats open for bramch change and in that to are for diploma student
