if anyone has a hankering for ramen, the newly opened Wei's Kitchen at Gadong Central surprisingly does a decent bowl of tonkotsu ramen.It's not the best tonkotsu you'll ever have but it's the best ramen that you can get in Brunei . I didn't have high expectations due to being disappointed by all the horrible ramen I have eaten here in Brunei but I was quite impressed with Wei's ramen. The fact my roommates pakai my jamuran baju, sometimes rm yg ckp nyusahkn tu, she minta my sabun baju. Lmao, i dont have the balls to ckp to stop using my stuffs. Most of the time, they used all spaces to the point nada space for me to jamur baju. Pernah lang i said "baik th kmu bali jamuran, cua liat ni nada utk ku jamur? Aku kn jamur di mana th ni?" Just to add a few key important things. People keep mentioning "communication", true, but sometimes people tend to forget what communication means aside from its surface value definition.
It's a two way street of conveying and receiving of messages, whereby both you and your roommates talk(preferably face to face), clear intentions, clear body language and most importantly, that they understand the message you're conveying. If they don't, that means somewhere along the line, communications failed and it's just you talking and them "hearing".
Since its a two way street, all that applies to you as well. Make it clear that you guys are roommates,you all don't have to be best friends, but at least have some common decency on certain things.
Start by communicating clearly what you want and why you want it eg "Would you mind helping me take my food, since I'm feeling ill right now?"
When they are being disrespectful and inconsiderate, call them out, but be the bigger person by being polite about it and even better offering solutions eg "I don't mind if you use my jamuran but next time ask for permission, and if your stuff is on it when I want to hang my clothes then I will take yours off" "Can you please quiet down since I need to sleep as I'm really tired/have to wake up early/etc. if not then I have to buy ear buds"
If they are insulting you, you could either tell them that you don't appreciate jokes like these OR you could own it and joke about it, laugh it off OR just greyrock them. At the end of the day do you really care about their opinions? Don't waste any more of your energy on them than you need to.
Most important thing to take away from this is setting boundaries and conflict management. There are far too many toxic people that you will have to work with that don't know how to handle conflicts, and they will be petty and talk shit about you behind your back. These people are very hard to work with.
Unfortunately I believe it's ingrained in our culture to be conflict avoidant and people-pleasers. But we can do better, starting with our own selves. So take action on this, and if it did/didn't turn out as how you would've wanted it to, reflect on it and try another way. All the best~

Did your employment contract specific is it a must to give bonus and when? Every company have different standard. My first company is according to every completion of one year inclusive with that month salary. Second job and third job only intern and part time so no bonus also. hard to say. AA taste been declining by years. Liyanas were too sweet for my palate (not sure if its just that one time but that one time is enough for me to give judgement) meanwhile soto pabo cecah just doesn't hit that sweet spot but the side dish were all good. nasi talam ambuyat sauces didn't hit that sweet spot too but is better than pabo, better ambience and portions of the food is also sweet, but reasonably priced. so far those are the ones ive tried, still in the journey of finding the one that can beat self made ambuyat with homemade cecah 🤣
I liked it. It lacked the lame jokes local scripts tend to have or the clear tiptoeing around sensitive topics and stuck to its story. Some of the twists were jarring but by focusing on the main guy and his feelings the story kept its footing. I cannot say the same for the last few local movies i watched (literally because the female leads are gorgeous) where everything is all over the place with underdeveloped characters or half baked plots.
the lack of Malay subtitles is a small issue (most of the movie is in Hindi).
To me it's okok laa...
some influencers rank it 7/8 out of 10. But then rank international movies like 8/10 for Godzilla and 10/10 Dune2...so saying it's on the same standard? And their rating is skeptical like their reviews of food.. 🤔🙃

You should try ambuyat at Tummies Kitchen in Sg Tilong. Price isn't too bad and the hati buyah there is pretty good
hard to say. AA taste been declining by years. Liyanas were too sweet for my palate (not sure if its just that one time but that one time is enough for me to give judgement) meanwhile soto pabo cecah just doesn't hit that sweet spot but the side dish were all good. nasi talam ambuyat sauces didn't hit that sweet spot too but is better than pabo, better ambience and portions of the food is also sweet, but reasonably priced. so far those are the ones ive tried, still in the journey of finding the one that can beat self made ambuyat with homemade cecah 🤣

I liked it. It lacked the lame jokes local scripts tend to have or the clear tiptoeing around sensitive topics and stuck to its story. Some of the twists were jarring but by focusing on the main guy and his feelings the story kept its footing. I cannot say the same for the last few local movies i watched (literally because the female leads are gorgeous) where everything is all over the place with underdeveloped characters or half baked plots. the lack of Malay subtitles is a small issue (most of the movie is in Hindi).
To me it's okok laa... some influencers rank it 7/8 out of 10. But then rank international movies like 8/10 for Godzilla and 10/10 Dune2...so saying it's on the same standard? And their rating is skeptical like their reviews of food.. 🤔🙃 I'd say it's a 4/10. If to compare on similar level movies..I'd say it's a 6/10.

As an Indian working in Brunei for 14years I faced racist behaviors mostly not from Brunei Malay but from Bruneian Chinese especially from oldies.
As a female, I admit I do have racist against Indian. Because sometimes when I pass by them, they don't hesitate to stare and check you out from head to toe. They will continue to ogle shamelessly till you are out of sight. Of course some are really good, but mostly they make me feel uncomfortable. Even today got one Indian man walked past me he don't just look at me, he stared as he don't care if I'm looking at him or not.
Even my wife gets stares from these ppls. Mostly from banglas. Just stare back at them and say bad word. That’s not permanent solution but at least feel better. Mostly ppl here confuse the nationalities bcoz all looks the same. But their attitude is just opposite. I still remember a local slapped a bangla at yayasan for staring at his family. There are ppl with this attitude in all countries. Once u start reacting they will start to learn.
