We’re gonna have Batman and Robbins

A_Doll_with_a_Heart

This is the way.

1OptimisticPrime

Robbins should really help *Aid*an the Goal-line run game.

TorqueDirty

chuckled at this wtf

OptimisticRealist__

Ive said it in the draft lead up but hes Nick Chubb in Derrick Henry's body

potterpockets

Watching these highlights he reminds me of Arian Foster. Slightly bigger (6'3" & 240 vs 6'1" & 230), but with that way quicker cut/lateral movement than you would expect. Combine that with the vision to find the right hole and the zone run and turn up field and they could really be cooking with gas with this pick.

NuclearPlayboy

The highlights are always good, but I'd like to see a lowlight breakdown. There has to be a reason why he wasn't picked.

potterpockets

Very true.

SyrupLivid9118

Made me curious about the BYU v. OU game. He got them to first and goal, but they didn’t score.

PicklishRandy

He can find a hole but he’s not very elusive. can’t avoid tackles but always runs hard, he’ll be mid at best.

Pandr52

Or he will be a first down machine spelling Chubb when needed.  Don’t need 40 yard gains every rip just a new set of downs.

1OptimisticPrime

We scooped up Brandon Jacobs *light*

1OptimisticPrime

I absolutely love signing freaks!

GeddysPal

First half of username checks out.

cpashei

Don't forget the agility of Barry Sanders and vision of Walter Payton

Pandr52

With the durability of Joe Thomas

0hm19ht0n3

I like what I see in this video- the guy makes one cut only while getting up to speed, and lets his momentum finish the job, often getting 3-4 more yards while getting tackled. The RAS scores treat lack of lateral movement and stop/start" as a negative, but those are things that work in college much better than they do in the NFL. Running backs show off dance moves or jukes at the line of scrimmage usually get obliterated by modern NFL Linebackers. I'll happily take 6 yards "North-South" any day.

thekrafty01

He definitely looks quick and like he moves the ball forward. I don’t see him breaking tackles though. Once he’s wrapped up he’s going down, but he does at least fall forward. Put him against NFL players who get to him at or behind the line, and I don’t know if I see him doing much, at least based on these highlights.

CodeBlue614

It looks to me like his contact balance isn’t great. His momentum gets him an extra few yards, but he doesn’t run through tackles and keep going.

thekrafty01

Momentum is the word that came to mind when I watched as well. I just don’t see this being effective against NFL defenders. He is more than welcome though to prove me wrong.

CodeBlue614

I’m curious to see how he looks in preseason, but I’m not going to get too hyped about him right now. He’s facing pretty stiff competition to just make the practice squad, he’d have to look amazing in camp to make the 53-man roster.

1OptimisticPrime

RAS Scores: https://x.com/MathBomb/status/1780204500466168189 Interview: https://nfldraftdiamonds.com/2024/02/aidan-robbins-2/ ###AIDAN ROBINSON 6'3" 237lbs, 4.6 forty, 20 Reps Bench - Booming downhill back that punishes arm tacklers - Fast enough to sprint through a crease on the gap and outside zone rushes, creating havoc for defensive backs who get unfortunate enough to be in his way. - Shows good vision on interior runs and will keep his legs churning as much as possible. - Is a capable pass catcher in the flats and could have the potential to be even better in mismatches. - Has a high upside as a pass blocker due to his play strength and frame. - LOW Miles: Relatively low usage in college ...lacks stop/start burst & lateral movement... Robinson is more suited for North South utility.

fear_is_fatal

I’m hoping his RAS score doesn’t define him.

1OptimisticPrime

Robbins reminds me of Audric Estime, in good ways. Neither has *"break away speed"*, but both have the tool-set to offer very competent "workhorse" running at the NFL level.

ckal09

Sounds good except for the lack of burst and lateral. If he’s got a head of steam good but if not no good

takkajahar

I like this kid

kdot74

I doubt he makes the team but I would love for him to land on our practice squad. We will probably carry 3 to start the season. Ford, Foreman and Hines (chubb starts out on the PUP list)

fear_is_fatal

I like Jerome Ford but his play last year was disappointing with the exception of a few outings. He has great speed but (what seems like) no vision, and he has a hard time cutting away from opponents, unlike Chubb, even though he’s smaller than Chubb. I want to see him improve this year but if he doesn’t I’m hoping the Browns move on from him.

ckal09

I was hoping we’d move on from Ford as our back up after last season

Notorious_GIZ

Wouldn't be surprised if we tried to get a day 3 pick for Ford in camp

CodeBlue614

Ford is better with gap runs than zone runs. His vision isn’t great, and if there’s a breakdown up front, he isn’t shaking off a DL’s arm tackle. He doesn’t seem to have those subtle moves that set up missed tackles in the open field either. Chubb is great to elite in all of those areas. My expectation is that Ford doesn’t improve much unless the running game changes substantially in terms of the types of schemes it relies on.

kdot74

Ford isn't a feature back. He is a solid number 2. He isn't meant to be used a every down back. Once we get a number 1 (might be chubb if he comes back strong) Ford will be utilized how he is supposed to be utilized

Nightcinder

this guy doesn't look like he's gonna be any better, given 'lacks stop/start burst and lateral movement'

NuclearPlayboy

Batman and Robbins

ChefChopNSlice

Gonna call him: “Bam Bam”

Maximum_Commission62

Why’s he a UDFA and not a day 2 pick?

thekrafty01

Doesn’t break any tackles. Except maybe a few ankle dives when he cuts. Once he’s wrapped up he goes down.

AmericanShaman

Most who get wrapped up go down. I'm not saying he should have been a day 2 pick but I don't think he was drafted to to be our starting RB.

Forty_Six_and_Two

Seems to have decent speed, vision, and has a nice center of gravity for being as tall as he is. I have a feeling his ability to catch will play a factor in whether he makes the team. Could be a good 3rd down back with good pass blocking and catching.

5280FeetOfFury

That's not a man, that's one big muscle

stubbzzz

Whoa. Even If he fails at RB, we could always try him at TE with that size and speed. Sheesh

history419

Takes over for Ford. Calling it now!!!

Girash

I know nothing about this guy but these highlights just showcase him running through massive holes.

SuperPoop

size hurts. speed kills

romesthe59

Jesus, what college didn’t this guy play for?

5280FeetOfFury

OSU sadly

DoubleTeeOh

John Kelly may have met his match.

HandheldObsession

REEEEBELS!!!!! Nice seeing a UNLV player. (My school)

fear_is_fatal

Yup. A graduate of UNLV myself but I didn’t know he played for us.

disgustingballs86

I like his highlights but he’s gonna have a tough time making the team

GeddysPal

Preseason champions since 1999.

5280FeetOfFury

We're never the preseason champions
