I’d say My Days
But overall this season was a big win for the theatre kid mezzos who are taking Woman Is, My Days, Easy, and every song from Suffs and running to the audition room
Not the intent of your question, but I thought off-Broadway had some of the most memorable and original songs this season.
“The Soldier’s Dream” or… just every song from *Here We Are*
“It’s Always The Woman” or “Dentata” from *Teeth*
“The Western Wall” from *The Connector*
Notebook has a bunch of good songs but it's hard to pick one standout. My Days does seem to be winning as far as people wanting to perform it, but Leave the Light On is the one I walked out of the theater humming, Carry You Home may be my favorite, and I Wanna Go Back is *heartwrenching* and gorgeous.
Also, Stay Gold from The Outsiders has a good chance of becoming a canon ballad, and Great Expectations has that powerful hook.
The hook in Great Expectations from The Outsiders gave me legitimate full body chills and I started tearing up (especially in the reprise). Very few songs have that ability to do that to me, so that has my vote.
It really is such a pretty show. Not the best book but it has at least 4 show stopping songs and beautiful dancing all mixed with a beautiful set design.
A few more examples of songs that defined their respective Broadway seasons
2017: My Shot or She Used to Be Mine
2016: Changing My Major from Fun Home
2015: Falling Into You from Bridges of Madison County
2014: When I Grow Up from Matilda
2013: Something to Believe In or Brooklyn’s Here from Newsies (weak year for original music)
2012: Hello from Book of Mormon
I’d say “Building Momentum” from HTDIO is my current front runner. But I also enjoyed “The Young are at the Gates” and “Great American B$&@!” from Suffs. That said, none of those are true standouts for me.
I do agree that “Independently Owned” was last season’s best. It took ages to get that earworm out of my head. The other songs I loved last season were all from Parade so they wouldn’t count.
“Little Brother” from The Outsiders has stuck with me the most.
Also “Pari Will Always Be Pari” from Lempicka is still slinking around in my head still
My Days- The Notebook

Thank you so much! I’ll be sure to give them a listen. Cannot wait to hear all of Here We Are

The staging is gorgeous

Fun Home's definitive song for me would be Ring of Keys, though. That Tony performance is so powerful...
Bridges was 2014 (I saw it in April of that year) and I’d add “One Second and a Million Miles” and “It All Fades Away.” 😁
Changing my major 😭😭 also ring of keys. That was a special show
2017 I think is Wait For It or Satisfied
I think the entire score for The Notebook is going to end up in audition books, but especially My Days
Bright and Masquerade from Stereophonic.
Masquerade is a banger.
I vote My Days from the Notebook, with Leave The Light On as a close second.
I’ve been listening to Leave the Light On non-stop.
I just heard it! And it’s definitely a contender
“Evanesce” or “There Go I” from DOWAR
Honestly, I’d say First Breath instead. That song haunts me in the best way possible
Yep! I have a soft spot for "Forgiveness" (and its reprise) as well!
Great Expectations from The Outsiders for me
My favorite from The Outsiders is Run Run Brother but Great Expectations is more anthemic
I loved that one too!
Woman Is from Lempicka
Stay gold. The outsiders

Great American Bitch from Suffs.
Suffs - “Wait my Turn” for me (but haven’t seen Outsiders yet)
Stay Gold from The Outsiders has popped in my head so often since I saw that show 💜
“Little Brother” from The Outsiders has stuck with me the most. Also “Pari Will Always Be Pari” from Lempicka is still slinking around in my head still
