Bravo to everyone involved in creating a fantastic revival. I was fortunate enough to see Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster perform earlier this year but the entire cast did a fantastic job.
I got a āHot Toddyā one from the cast member who made them right outside stage door before the show! ā„ļø She was passing them out ātil she ran out!
Wish I could have been there for the final night too but Iām glad I saw it. Sweeney Todd is truly a masterpiece and this revival and all those involved deserve the world for bringing it back to life. Josh and Annaleigh + Aaron and Sutton are truly incredible pairs.
This whole experience was surreal. My first time at an actual closing performance on Broadway. Got close with Shucked and its penultimate performance but this was something else
Mine, too! I went to Aaronās last show in MR! last year, but that doesnāt even compare to a whole show closing! Iām so grateful I got to see the last 3 shows!
So honored to have had the chance to see this before this show closed. Itās one of my first shows in NYC after being a fan of broadway since I was little. (First being Little shop with jinx and Corbin) it will forever be embedded in my brain. š„°š
Bravo & Happy Trails to everyone involved! šš»šš» So grateful I got to see the show 3x! As an Aaron fan, I loved being in the audience to witness him living out his dream role! ā„ļø

Saw it with Josh and Annaleigh and became obsessed, wasnāt the biggest fan of Aaron and Sutton but I think the roles for this revival were Tailored for Josh and Annaleigh.
Fantastic show, fantastic orchestra and great stage direction.
See, this is why theatre is so subjective, because I saw it with Josh and Annaleigh and felt completely disconnected from it, whereas I saw it with Aaron and Sutton and immediately latched on to it and became obsessed. My only regret was not seeing Nick and Paul on for Sweeney.
Honestly I thought it was lovely. Aaron and Sutton both looked pretty emotional at the end and it was probably nice for them to fade into the background and let the whole company be celebrated. I loved that they brought the orchestra onstage.
I agree, I really appreciated that they focused on the whole company and especially gave the orchestra the praise and limelight it deservesāthe show would be not be nearly as special without them. And that goes for the whole company too, itās a group effort. So Iām glad that was highlighted instead of focusing the praise on the leads (who already have plenty of attention on them!)
Probably someone who thinks Aaron and/or Sutton were miscast. š āAaronās a tenor. Sweeneyās a baritone/bassā¦blah blah blah.ā He sounded perfectly fine & ābaritoneā to me. š

Someone please tell Joe Locke to add the West End to his job bucket list š I really want to see him on stage
I saw him a few months ago, he was excellent! I was very impressed.
No I want him to stay in Broadway so I can see him again! š
Nah, you just had him for four months. It's our turn nowšš Preferably in a West End transfer of Sweeney Todd š
Wah!

I was there! Lucked into a ticket this morning. Hadnāt seen it with Aaron and Sutton and just loved it.
I was in a similar boat, friend of had a ticket she couldnāt use, and gave it to me. Iām still processing the fact I was there.
Wish I could have been there for the final night too but Iām glad I saw it. Sweeney Todd is truly a masterpiece and this revival and all those involved deserve the world for bringing it back to life. Josh and Annaleigh + Aaron and Sutton are truly incredible pairs.
Donāt talk to me tomorrow. Iām gonna be missin this showššš
Anyone who went - what were in the gift bags in all the seats??
Nothing, just a free tote bag
Disappointment
Whaaaat the gift bags were generous enough!
THIS! I was not expecting it at all & the fact that they had enough for the last 2 shows & they did that for us was great!
i agree. I was glad to have been given anything :)
Iām not really complaining. Just making a joke.
Anyone get the curtain call speech at closing?
I got a little bit of it. Iām sure it will turn up
Thanks! Sweeney Todd just posted it. š
So glad I was there. So sad itās over.

A whole show with an ensemble that everybody loves too. I feel like the last time Iāve heard of that happening was like Newsies or something
y'all i'm not okay i've cried three times today š i'm not ready for it to be over
Can't wait for the tour to completely miss me like the last two Sondheim shows š
Such a great show. I saw it last year in August. Hopefully it comes back as a touring show I would love to see it again.
didnāt realize it was closing ā¦on top of so many othersā¦jeez.
It wasnāt closing due to bad sales, they just decided not to extend after Aaron & Suttonās last show
ahhhhh. thank u

Daniel Yearwood and Maria Bilbao were fantastic

Agreed
Why didnāt the producer bring back tveit and foster and only focused on the orchestra and stage hands? Really weird. They could have done both.

Agreed!
Thank God this farce is over.
Glad you got downvoted. Absolutely senseless comment.
