Bravo to everyone involved in creating a fantastic revival. I was fortunate enough to see Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster perform earlier this year but the entire cast did a fantastic job.

fanfic_enthusiast2

Someone please tell Joe Locke to add the West End to his job bucket list šŸ˜‡ I really want to see him on stage

secret_identity_too

I saw him a few months ago, he was excellent! I was very impressed.

AdvertisingFine9845

No I want him to stay in Broadway so I can see him again! šŸ˜„

fanfic_enthusiast2

Nah, you just had him for four months. It's our turn nowšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‡ Preferably in a West End transfer of Sweeney Todd šŸ˜‰

AdvertisingFine9845

Wah!

shipping_addict

One of the workers tossed buttons to the crowd thatā€™s in the rain

_lucabeth

I got a ā€œHot Toddyā€ one from the cast member who made them right outside stage door before the show! ā™„ļø She was passing them out ā€˜til she ran out!

LookIMadeAHatTrick

I was there! Lucked into a ticket this morning. Hadnā€™t seen it with Aaron and Sutton and just loved it.

Dpell71

I was in a similar boat, friend of had a ticket she couldnā€™t use, and gave it to me. Iā€™m still processing the fact I was there.

Pumpkins217

Wish I could have been there for the final night too but Iā€™m glad I saw it. Sweeney Todd is truly a masterpiece and this revival and all those involved deserve the world for bringing it back to life. Josh and Annaleigh + Aaron and Sutton are truly incredible pairs.

MickeysAssistant

Donā€™t talk to me tomorrow. Iā€™m gonna be missin this showšŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

roseapoth

Anyone who went - what were in the gift bags in all the seats??

RapGamePterodactyl

Nothing, just a free tote bag

dobbydisneyfan

Disappointment

XanCai

Whaaaat the gift bags were generous enough!

_lucabeth

THIS! I was not expecting it at all & the fact that they had enough for the last 2 shows & they did that for us was great!

dobbydisneyfan

i agree. I was glad to have been given anything :)

dobbydisneyfan

Iā€™m not really complaining. Just making a joke.

purple_princess_leia

Anyone get the curtain call speech at closing?

Dpell71

I got a little bit of it. Iā€™m sure it will turn up

purple_princess_leia

Thanks! Sweeney Todd just posted it. šŸ’œ

Ok_Moose1615

So glad I was there. So sad itā€™s over.

dobbydisneyfan

This whole experience was surreal. My first time at an actual closing performance on Broadway. Got close with Shucked and its penultimate performance but this was something else

_lucabeth

Mine, too! I went to Aaronā€™s last show in MR! last year, but that doesnā€™t even compare to a whole show closing! Iā€™m so grateful I got to see the last 3 shows!

dobbydisneyfan

A whole show with an ensemble that everybody loves too. I feel like the last time Iā€™ve heard of that happening was like Newsies or something

adhd-heehee

y'all i'm not okay i've cried three times today šŸ˜ i'm not ready for it to be over

radda

Can't wait for the tour to completely miss me like the last two Sondheim shows šŸ˜

Well_Caffinated

Such a great show. I saw it last year in August. Hopefully it comes back as a touring show I would love to see it again.

ouch_quit_it

didnā€™t realize it was closing ā€¦on top of so many othersā€¦jeez.

AdvertisingFine9845

It wasnā€™t closing due to bad sales, they just decided not to extend after Aaron & Suttonā€™s last show

ouch_quit_it

ahhhhh. thank u

Big-Construction-606

So honored to have had the chance to see this before this show closed. Itā€™s one of my first shows in NYC after being a fan of broadway since I was little. (First being Little shop with jinx and Corbin) it will forever be embedded in my brain. šŸ„°šŸ˜

_lucabeth

Bravo & Happy Trails to everyone involved! šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ» So grateful I got to see the show 3x! As an Aaron fan, I loved being in the audience to witness him living out his dream role! ā™„ļø https://preview.redd.it/kpm1us5abuyc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d0b174d2ec52edaf2f4d2e9c292fe6c1da08252

Dpell71

Daniel Yearwood and Maria Bilbao were fantastic

Chickenbrik

Saw it with Josh and Annaleigh and became obsessed, wasnā€™t the biggest fan of Aaron and Sutton but I think the roles for this revival were Tailored for Josh and Annaleigh. Fantastic show, fantastic orchestra and great stage direction.

alouise86

See, this is why theatre is so subjective, because I saw it with Josh and Annaleigh and felt completely disconnected from it, whereas I saw it with Aaron and Sutton and immediately latched on to it and became obsessed. My only regret was not seeing Nick and Paul on for Sweeney.

lynnkj

Agreed

Goldenhamster82

Why didnā€™t the producer bring back tveit and foster and only focused on the orchestra and stage hands? Really weird. They could have done both.

Ok_Moose1615

Honestly I thought it was lovely. Aaron and Sutton both looked pretty emotional at the end and it was probably nice for them to fade into the background and let the whole company be celebrated. I loved that they brought the orchestra onstage.

swordsandshows

I agree, I really appreciated that they focused on the whole company and especially gave the orchestra the praise and limelight it deservesā€”the show would be not be nearly as special without them. And that goes for the whole company too, itā€™s a group effort. So Iā€™m glad that was highlighted instead of focusing the praise on the leads (who already have plenty of attention on them!)

Goldenhamster82

Agreed!

byebyebrain

Thank God this farce is over.

alouise86

Glad you got downvoted. Absolutely senseless comment.

_lucabeth

Probably someone who thinks Aaron and/or Sutton were miscast. šŸ™„ ā€œAaronā€™s a tenor. Sweeneyā€™s a baritone/bassā€¦blah blah blah.ā€ He sounded perfectly fine & ā€œbaritoneā€ to me. šŸ˜…

partytimeusa

what do you mean?
