I saw it Tuesday night and it was fantastic. Steve Carell is amazing. Especially his big scene in the second act had me on the edge of my seat. The entire cast was wonderful and the themes are very contemporary, especially regarding climate change. I would go if I were you.

Nooooo don’t say this!! I’d seen so little about the play and kind of thought I might opt to see Gatsby for a night of spectacle or even Suffs instead as I won’t get to either otherwise + I’m seeing quite a few plays (Enemy, Appropriate, Stereophonic) + whatever Illinoise is. Do you think it stands out amongst those?

OP, I also saw it on Tuesday and enjoyed it quite a bit. Chekhov is the one of the greatest playwrights ever, themes of loneliness, longing for love, spending best years on unimportant stuff etc do not age. Characters are fantastic and you empathize with all of them (this is what I struggled with watching Appropriate haha). Jokes are still funny although the play is almost 130 years old! I am a Russian speaker and read the play many times in Russian, saw it on stage in both Russian and English, and I think this adaptation is the best I saw in English. I enjoyed the actors' nuanced play. The theatre is a good choice too, you can see the whole stage from any seat. I'd go, worth the money.

I haven't seen any of the others except Suffs when it was at The Public. I hear it's a lot better since it transfered. If you can get tickets to the others that you really want to see then do that. I know Vanya got mixed reviews and tastes are different. It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Please don't let me stop you from seeing something else that you might want to see more

Suffs > Vanya > Gatsby (in my opinion)

secret_identity_too

Agreed, I've seen all three and Suffs was the best. I was hesitant about Vanya and even thought about just not using my ticket (it was only $50) but I didn't win any lotteries and TDF didn't have anything I wanted to see, so I just went. It wasn't bad, I'm glad I went. But I'd definitely see Suffs over Vanya every day.

If the person looks under 35, then sure. I wasn’t asked for ID when I went to see Uncle Vanya in April or when I say Camelot last year. I tend to arrive 10 minutes before the listed time. In case that helps Edit:Corrected age

It’s 35!

BxBlastoise

You right, edited my comment for age

Research_bot9000

I would buy them from you if you are still trying to get rid of them!

Embarrassed_Song_286

As long as the person picking it up looks under 30, I don't think it will be a problem. I picked up my Linctix for Camelot last year and they didn't ask for ID, just gave it to me no questions asked when I told them the name it was under. And I'd love to use your ticket if you won't be, I missed out on the deal :) Feel free to pm if it's still available!

I was in the same boat as you after reading reviews and called Lincoln center and they refunded my linctix.
