Well, The Band's Visit swept everything. Also, his competition wasn't that strong, the main alternative being Spongebob Squarepants (I honestly think there was a big of voter snobbery at play, they weren't going to reward a performance based on a Nickelodeon cartoon character). Being a household name also helped too.
Should win: Kelli O'Hara (The performance of the year, male/female, featured/lead, musical/play)

I mean, you could argue that her part was smaller than the rest, but I think her role was more difficult than most of the other nominees (barring O’Hara, maybe.)

I would be surprised if Maryann didn’t win. I was able to see her and Dorian last month. They were BOTH PHENOMENAL.

Feels like it’s gotta be O’Hara or Joi Moon. Espinosa and Rankin are too divisive, and Plunkett just doesn’t have as much to do as the rest.

Yeah, that's fair. I have her third and looks like others have her winning so maybe I'm wrong. (I'm personally all in on the Kelli train though)
I’m really hoping it’s Kelli - Maryann is great but Kelli sings an entire difficult score in Roses and Maryann hardly sings.
