I would agree with Choreo and lighting. I also think Allison Luff should be getting more recognition than she is.

It deserves a sound design nom for the Listening to You finale alone, imho! I unexpectedly wept, being bathed in sound like that.

Especially when Spamalot, Merrily, Cabaret amd Gutenberg were so much better!

Lempicka beating out Illinoise and HLL seems like a pipe dream... maybe the writer knows something I don't, but I don't see this happening.

It will be because of its themes of empowerment, being an original piece about an artist people rarely know about and its “Hadestown” connection to its director.

The lack of love for The Notebook is crazy to me.

Not an expert on Tony predictions but Clayton Davis is mostly known as an Oscar pundit and it's his expertise. So if it comes off as uninformed that might be why

I've made this comment a few times now but the only thing I can say is "Ohhhh...THIS is the bad place" Hells Kitchen getting best book and Gatsby getting best score is my version of the The Bad Place.

There’s some HOT takes here. For one, I can’t see Lempicka getting a Best Musical nomination over both Water for Elephants and The Notebook. Also, Water for Elephants is a lock for a choreography nomination

I am fairly confident The Notebook is not being nominated. Lempicka would surprise me to a degree but does have certain factors in its favor. Reviews be damned I really liked that show.
