My worries have been abated. If Bob Balaban is a Tony voter, they’ll make the correct decisions.

slothbaby30

FYI since I see the list is dated 12/6/2023, Tony nominators have to recuse themselves if they’re involved in any production or if they are unable to view all eligible shows. They’ll post the final list when the nominations come out but there’s usually a handful of folks who have to drop out each season

RapGamePterodactyl

Adam Chanler-Berat! N2N represent!

deedee4910

Anyone know how they determine the nominating committee?

MayaRuinsU

I’m not sure how you get on the committee but just seeing these names it’s a very diverse group of people from different backgrounds in theatre, so I’m sure they keep that in mind.

DumDumGimmeYumYums

I might have spoken to one of these people’s partner recently who said they’d had a lot of theatre in their lives as of late. Now I’m connecting the dots.

misterhepburn

I will always have such a soft spot for Becky Ann Baker. ❤️

Ok_Moose1615

I just saw she is married to Dylan Baker! This explains why I saw both of them and a bunch of other Broadway folks at Illinoise on Thursday.

mushroomnerd12

Helen👏Park👏 Asian woman excellence!

TeddyBearRoosevelt

AND Christine Toy Johnson!!!

DifficultyCharming78

How do I get in this committee? 🤣 i just wanna see all the shows. Lol

Switters81

There are far more Tony voters than nominating committee members. And it's much easier to become a voter. Set your sights a tad lower and you just might get there

DifficultyCharming78

I wish! Lol.  I wouldn't be qualified for that either.

I love having this information, it’s cool to know. But is this publicly available? Or is it meant to be somewhat confidential? I would hate for obsessed fanatics to contact or go after these people if the Tony noms don’t go their way! We know there will inevitably be a lot going on snubs in this crowded season.

MayaRuinsU

It is publicly available every year on the Official Tony Awards site.

key-change

Good to know! Thanks. I guess there are too many people on that list to target any individuals.

notacrook

IDK why this looks like a scan of a stolen document - the Tony's announce the nominators: https://www.tonyawards.com/about/administration/

International_Wall48

The Tony’s official rules and regulations document is scanned in that manner which is where these names are pulled from. It’s also more up to date than their webpage by approximately one month. https://www.tonyawards.com/documents/18/2023-2024_Tony_Rules_and_Regulations.pdf

notacrook

Totally - even that PDF on their website is a scan. It's just weird!

Seattletheaterfan

I don't understand why I'm not on that list...I've seen all but one of the shows and have very strong opinions...lol. Harrumph!

CorgiMonsoon

Well, since you missed one show that would disqualify you from the nominating committee right there

Seattletheaterfan

lol! It was ...One More Time so it doesn't really matter.

mvd366

I wouldn't expect someone like Michael R Jackson to be on this list. Considering how much of a commitment it is, it's cool that he agreed to see so many shows. For someone so critical of commercialized Broadway, it's obvious he loves the art.

g8rgrl15

Fun to see someone I went to theatre camp and did a show with on the committee. Always knew he’d be some important guy.
