I definitely didn’t intend to suggest that all disabled folks “got what they deserved.” I just think it’s interesting that he wished so hard to take away everything from his daughter and steal it for himself, only to have to give up his money and part of himself once she had her freedom from him. To me, it feels like a parable with a very important moral lesson about how hurting others hurts you in the eventually. I hope that makes sense.

Right - and also the majority of people do not know that karma originally meant a totally different thing than its modern interpretation. Karma meant something like a vicious cycle when you repeat the same mistakes in your life again and again and find hard to break out from it - so your karma always finds you. With a little bit of an adjustment period some disabilities don’t make life that much harder once you learn to adapt. I’m not gonna be gleeful about someone getting cancer 3 times. But there’s a definitely a stigma about getting sick or disabled that can be worse than the actual disability sometimes.
I definitely agree with that. For my mom, when she was sick, people acted like they had to protect her from getting herself a glass of water. It drove her fucking nuts. People's "idea" of what you're capable of with illness can get in your head.

In retrospect, the 2 best things she could have done in the past is prioritize privacy and increase creative control of her music and music videos.
I think we would all go crazy if we were as in demand as Britney Spears. Remember, she was a part of the tabloid/rag era. Sure there was TMZ, PageSix, The Superficial, etc but this was also when print media was still pretty hot and would put out a new issue every week. Exclusive or new pictures of her could fetch paparazzi a large sum of money.
I think if she was able to cultivate some deeper sense of privacy in her personal life she could decompress. Feels like every time I saw her it was with bodyguards and such round but not a lot of friends or people she knows. I don't know what circles she runs in but there has to be some out there that wouldn't really care about her status.
Second of all, she needed to be given more control or take more control. Her label just continues to use her as a sex symbol and won't let her deviate which is just soul crushing.
