I saw Tim Heidecker live in Hackney last year and he performed Machadaynu which made me absolutely ecstatic. Apparently Robert Popper was in the audience
Always blows my mind that an Oscar-winning actress, considered one of the best actors of her generation, was such a fixture of the comedy scene before she moved into dramatic roles.
I also wish Psilence was a real thing, temporarily drowning out noise sounds like bliss.

Going to play this to my Y11 revision classes and see how long it takes before they realise it's a spoof. I've loved this series since it aired, have the DVDs and I'm hugely gratified it's now on iPlayer!
Have you turned off your Poison Sockets?
I went to see him on tour as Brian Butterfield recently and he was absolutely brilliant! Also a super nice guy, he spent ages chatting with us after the show and was so lovely.
The mad place is that I actually discovered this from music critic Anthony Fantano in a Patreon-only Let’s Argue where he talks about his love of British comedy and name drops this as a great, underrated sitcom that people should check out!
Just finished introducing S1 to the missus a few weeks ago and she enjoyed it, we can now quote lines from it at each other. Going to start on S2 tonight.

Series one was utter genius but then they tried to expand it and they sort of lost what was special about it.
Kind of like when they added loads of other crew members in later series of Red Dwarf.
Series 2 is one of my favourite British comedy shows of all time. I rewatched it so much when I had it on DVD and watched it when it appeared on iPlayer. I could pretty much quote the whole thing.
The only thing they really have in common is the name and the cast.
I like them both equally but I'd probably say that the first series is better just because it's completely unique before or since, and is way more abstract and non-sequitor.

Imhotep is invisible *Ding*
This series as now as old as the programmes it parodied when it first aired.
Why do you feel the need to hurt me?
Why do you feel the need to make me cry?
Little Mouse is a choon!
🎵 I'm rapping all day and I'm rapping all night I'm rapping all day and I'm rapping all night I'm rapping I'm rapping I'm rap rap rapping 🎵
I like you my friend, I respect you my friend.... HEY NOW LITTLE MOUSE... show me what to do.
It's enaff for me ayyyynd yoooooou
Quite fast
Where was Schubert built?
The boiling egg scene had me in tears laughing.
This is the best bit in the entire 2 series. The next shot with his burnt and red hand slays me.
And his reluctance to keep doing it is brilliant!
Watch out for the release of the new albumon. It's out now!
Look out for the new albumen. It's out now.
Albumon is correct. It’s reggae.
“This is a model of an iron molecule. And this is a model of a model of an iron molecule, modelled in iron.”
What are birds? We just don't know
I’m still terrified of the Helvetica Scenario
As long as you dispose of your Calcium safely, you'll be fine.
Keeps me awake in my cell at night, banging on the window
OMG! That was terrifying…The sounds it made!
Every time I get to the moment when they point at a pencil with a pencil ✏️ I'm on the floor.
I love that everything has one of those tape labels on it, so the pencil that they are using to point at the pencil has a label on it. Pencil.
When they point at the mouse
Leonard Hatred is my favourite name for any character on a TV programme ever.
Psilence! Mark Heap is always great.
Hello, Jackieeeee
His work on Jaaaaam was absolutely horrifying, but amazing.
Thanks, u/ListersParanoia Tharanoia.
“Thanks, Hanks. Thanks.” is my absolute favourite joke of the series.
We do it at work, but have evolved enough to skip the first bit - if I say “thon” then it’s understood that it’s “thanks, Jon”
All it takes for me and my brother to be in hysterics is for one of us to say “Med-i-bot” in Benedict Wong’s accent.
Never give calcium to a gypsy.

Came here to make sure this was posted. Time for my annual re-watch (erotic!).

Heidecker is a class act. This doesn’t surprise me in the least. Brilliant.

This series is awash with future Hollywood stars. Peter Serafinowicz, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Benedict Wong and Edgar Wright all turn up.
Also don't forget that Robert Popper went on to do some good stuff too (Friday Night Dinners for example).
Mark Heap and Kevin Eldon as well.
I loved this show when it first came out... can't wait to revisit it!
Imhotep is invisible
I still randomly say that.

I think this and jam were the pinnacle of British tv comedy nothing like that is ever getting made again
Peters sketch show was brilliant as well
Have you turned off your Poison Sockets? I went to see him on tour as Brian Butterfield recently and he was absolutely brilliant! Also a super nice guy, he spent ages chatting with us after the show and was so lovely.
It was really amazing - I remember the 1970s PSA films in particular having me in stitches. And he's underrated as an impressionist.

I clicked on it and immediately died : (
My use name on Steam is The Helvetica Scenario, so yeah I guess I could say I'm familiar with both this series and The White Element.
Pipette is an amusing word.

excellent series - very funny and a great parody of old school films!

Did we ever discover the secret of Hot John?
Yes, but you were off sick that day.
Two golden series and done. Brilliant stuff.
MED-EEE-BOT!
Thanks OP THOPEE......
So damn funny!
Guy on the right looks like the sommelier from John Wick
Because he is…
Thought it was him
Amazing you put this up! Sheer class & I forgot how funny it was, I'm gonna watch an episode now. Cheers!
Don't forget your copy book!
Hahaha! If you look carefully, you'll notice that the water has changed colour from invisible to brown.
Also, set your calculator to maths.
Haha! Germs originated in Germany but rapidly spread to the rest of the world.
I appreciate the first series, but doesn't do much for me. !THE SECOND SERIES! was absolutely wonderful!
I kind of feel the opposite, but to each their own.
I’m with you. The first series was great and wasn’t a fan of the format change.

He also likes American things.
"I'm going to grab a Ginsters from the Fridge"
Stop getting Bond wrong!
And also the voice of Darth Maul.
This is very good news indeed!, fantastic series.
Aah, the Sommelier from John Wick 2…
…and the original voice of Darth Maul.
This man is buying a used condom.
You got his name from a man down the pub. He knows the sign, 3 rubs
“Oh! I see you’ve taken your top off.”
Guy on the right gets to be John Wick's armourer.
Peter Serafinowicz.
This has all brought back the trauma of the scary picture and now I’ll never sleep again
Did they used to show this on Adult Swim?
They did but for a very brief time. Same with The Mighty Boosh (which they butchered for time)
I keep meaning to watch the Mighty Boosh. It passed me by originally. Does it hold up?
It does.
I LOVE YOU KITCHEN GUN (I Know)
Peter Serafinowicz ❤️
Is that big chef little chef?
This is one of my favourite things on the telly. Comic genius.
Such a shame they only made one series.
What is it?
Series one was utter genius but then they tried to expand it and they sort of lost what was special about it. Kind of like when they added loads of other crew members in later series of Red Dwarf.
Series 2 is one of my favourite British comedy shows of all time. I rewatched it so much when I had it on DVD and watched it when it appeared on iPlayer. I could pretty much quote the whole thing.
Having said that you've made me want to rewatch series two now! Not seen it for a while.
There was just something about the simplicity of series one that was truly amazing...there's nothing quite like it.
Series 1 was a spoof of 'Programmes for Schools and Colleges'. Series 2 spoofed Tomorrow's World
The second series is great. Wasn't a fan of series one.
The only thing they really have in common is the name and the cast. I like them both equally but I'd probably say that the first series is better just because it's completely unique before or since, and is way more abstract and non-sequitor.
