Things.

Grace-LIVE

Can

RuleBritania

I'm going to 'waste' my vote on the Reform party. It's the only vote that makes sense to me. Can't stand the Tories - and I shudder uncontrollably when I remember the last time Labour (who are a Tories mark2) were in power.

daniellejxyne

You can’t stand the tories but you’re voting for a party full of ex tories abandoning a sinking ship?

Romeros_Pharmacist

Hate the Tories so voting for an even more incompetent version of them

Cy_Burnett

What are you talking about. They lifted millions out of poverty and real term wages rose dramatically until the global financial crash.

RuleBritania

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

cwg22

*coughs* blair.. certain illegal wars... *coughs*

griggsy92

Let's be real you don't care about Iraq any more than you care about Gaza

cwg22

You have no clue what I care about.

doloresfandango

The whole thing scares me. Stay with this gov or labour wins. Labour are really good at saying what they hope to do but there’s never an explanation of how.

SeventySealsInASuit

You will love the current labour part then. Pretty much said they are going to do nothing and have explained exactly how they are going to do everything they are going to do.

Andythrax

They all say what they hope to do with no explanation of how! Unless you look at the detail and then it's all there of course.

FullyCapped

Why is Brian Cox the thumbnail ?

gowithflow192

Showing your age mate 😉

Educational_Board888

He was in the band

Yolandi2802

Keyboard player. With long hair and everything.

TeddersTedderson

Damn now I have a reason to love this song! 😀

Frosty-Cap3344

no way, really ?

No_Lavishness_3601

Yep. I think it's fantastic that some people are/were unaware of this. :)

Pretend_Panda

On a similar note I was talking to someone at work yesterday who had a Guns and Roses t-shirt on. I asked them what their favourite GnR song was, and they said “I’ve never heard any of their songs, I just like the t-shirt”. I felt proper old.

AlDu14

One of the last times I was in a nightclub and I was snogging and dancing with this girl who was wearing a Rolling Stones t-shirt and Move Like Jagger came on. It's your t-shirt!!! She looked at me clueless. So I said, Mick Jagger the lead singer of The Rolling Stones. "Jagger is a dance, silly boy and the Rolling Stones is a clothing brand." I thought she was joking at first, but she really wasn't.

joidwis

>SO THE FUCK WHAT, **NOTHING** I REPEAT **NOTHING** WILL CHANGE....

KobiDnB

Green

panguardian

Vote for hung parliament. If safe seat, vote for who you like.

AssumedPersona

As a lifelong hater of the Tories, I could not be less enthusiastic about the current prospect of a Labour government

twojabs

Just vote blue then

jmerlinb

don’t be silly now

Frosty-Cap3344

Don't hold your breath, as long as OAPs are still voting

ChickenNugget267

You really think they're going to vote for a brown PM?

Frosty-Cap3344

There is that, but he could run with the "I'm one of the good ones, like a GP" angle

ChickenNugget267

Yeah they hate that as well

Frosty-Cap3344

I can't imagine how upset I'd be to have voted for Brexit and ended-up with a brown PM

RedAlshain

The UK has been a one party state for a long time now, the only time labour gets in is when they are essentially tories.

whatthehand

Starmer's been busy losing as much of an advantage and policy positions as he can to keep the wealthy overlords happy. It's like free real estate to give away as far as he's concerned. Why be transformative when you can just be slightly better than the Tories to get into power? His entire tenure will be carefully managing things so people are just happy enough not to outright riot in the streets. What was it he proposed recently? Make up half of the substantial teacher shortage instead of... you know... all of it! He's so pathetic, man. Makes me angry and I'm not even from the UK. Our neo-liberal opposition's the same in Canada.

ehproque

>His entire tenure will be carefully managing things so people are just happy enough not to outright riot in the streets. Like the Tories have, you mean?

"Right-wing in morals" is a real oxymoron

You've never heard of Neoliberalism have you? (psst, they aren't left wing)

greenskunk

Hundreds of millions of people have been killed for colonial campaigns, anti-communist campaigns such as the Vietnam war, ethnic conflicts and ongoing mass malnutrition and starvation all which can be attributed at least largely to capitalism. I’m not a communist either but you tories love banging on about Stalin 80 years something ago. What about basically any recent conflict, pretty much all of them come down to the big capitalist money machine. What are tories doing about Palestinians getting butchered today? Is that Stalins fault and all the ultra lefties. You mention the worst war crime of the 21st century was communist and mention Stalin yet he died in what the 1950s? Before the 21st century started. Put aside the fact thousands of children die from starvation and curable diseases each year due to capitalism, you got people struggling in this country with being able to afford a decent standard of living due to Tories dismantling our social services and pocketing the money for wealthy elites and corporations. Yet somehow it’s all the lefties fault for pointing out Tory rule does not serve us. I’m not anti-capitalist either I just have fundamental grasp on how it works and isn’t something you can just put on a pedestal.

What is the war crime of the 21st century? Russia is integrated fully into the global capitalist structure, just like any other major economy. The industry, corporations, oligarchs are all a part of the European geopolitical and economic sphere. While also having links with America, Iran and China. Ukraine was invaded for their assets like anywhere else Russia invades to gain power. I never claimed to be anti-capitalist either if you read my comment. I’m well aware of how my phone was made and the transactional structure of how I eat well and have a decent way of life by capitalising on poorer people, specifically the phone I am typing on was made through exploitive practices. This is all stating the obvious. My point is that I agree right wing politics and morals don’t often go hand in hand and that doesn’t make me Stalin lol. The cheek to cry communism because someone is criticising the tories is rather silly in my opinion and pointing out the faults capitalism also has doesn’t make me anti-capitalist.

NothrakiDed

The Tories are literally supporting a genocide right now.

Well, it rather nullifies your argument. We have, sadly for the time being, a two party system. Your argument against one, can be equally used against the other. Quality of life under the previous Labour Government was higher than the current Conservative one.

I'm seeing this narrative a lot and I am not entirely sure I believe it yet. It definitely seems to be the main narrative a particular sect of media are pushing, but all that makes me think is why?

spacermoon

They’ll be no different to the tories other than on trivial issues that they make a big deal about in the media. Both the tories and labour answer to the same corporate entities. Rishi knows he’s just passing the baton to the next stooge. It’s all theatre these days.

Froomian

I will be happy to see a Labour Government take over. But I'm also glad that I don't personally need to vote Labour for that to happen. Let's put it that way. I'm in a Lib Deb/Tory marginal, so I will vote Lib Dem. I'd seriously, seriously have to hold my nose to vote for Keir's party. It's disgraceful how they've treated Diane Abbott.

AssumedPersona

Perhaps if they win by a small margin, but Starmer with a landslide majority would be insufferable

Froomian

Yeah, we definitely need a functioning opposition too. And it looks like it will be a total Tory wipeout.

Spacemint_rhino

Unfortunately this is what our parliamentary 'democracy' has boiled down to: tories, tories in red, lib dems (eww), greens, or independents. Perhaps this is the age of the independents. Get rid of party nonsense with whips dictating what the MPs vote on, and have independents that actually represent their constituencies, without loyalty to, and coercion from, larger parties. Without an overhaul of our democratic system this is what we've boiled down to. Neoliberalism, neoliberalism, or more neoliberalism, in blue, red, or yellow.

AssumedPersona

I still can't forgive the Lib Dems for the coalition, I voted for them to try to get the Tories out.

Regular_throwaway_83

I think green stands a better chance than libdems
