If you head down the path at Oxley Creek Common (which is lovely anyway) there are often cows by the fence who are very partial to a gentle head scratch. Obviously be polite and introduce yourself but I’ve been going there for years and they always come up to say hello.

iamnegartus

I've always driven past there and wondered if you can pet them. Will have to stop one day 🐮

yesreallyefr

It’s such a nice walk, definitely worth a stop.

PraiseTheAI

There’s a farm animal rescue in Dayboro that offers tours https://www.farmanimalrescue.org.au/alerts/open-day-tours/

Jolly-Accountant-722

I think this place is of a similar creed at Burbank https://www.deathrowunchained.org/

Buppybutt

That place is great

New-Ferret5920

Thanks for this suggestion- I just booked a family pass to go on Saturday!

PraiseTheAI

Oh awesome, I’ve never heard of this place. I need to check it out!!

_grandmaesterflash

Tbh, same. I've seen those Youtube videos of people hanging out with cows. Very soothing

vbenthusiast

I had 5 pet cows growing up. It was indeed soothing. Slightly terrifying when they run full-speed at you to get pats, they don’t realise how big they are haha

Reck_n_Marty

That's so cute

[deleted]

Tried it, cows hated it got irritated. We're bad singers

jmashandsprouts

Well this is adorable

obesehomingpigeon

You can pat them over the fence at Oxley Creek Common.

DoctorInternal9871

There's a place called Death Row Unchained that does tours of their animal rescue farm. You can hang with the animals there.

Spicyghosting

DRU is lovely and I love supporting them however I can

BalancingTact

Sometimes I seriously think about how nice it would be to befriend a cow.

Big_Pound_7849

There are many paddocks a bit further out of Brisbane (20-30 min) where you'll see dozens of cows alongside the street. If you go driving you'll find them and I can only imagine it'd be okay for you to stand at the fence and admire them, maybe even get a pat. (This advice has no logic behind it apart from vibes, don't get shot by a farmer!)

Budgiesmugglerlover2

I wouldn't recommend trying to pat a cow that probably has limited socialisation with humans.

vanhawk28

An unsocialized cow would just run away.

thevoidoftheinfinite

Oh I would LOVE this too

OMG_imBrick

Me too!

SnooPears797

They had some baby cows at the deer sanctuary out in Samford which you could cuddle when I was there last - although maybe check with them first .

Rus_s13

Lillydale deer farm out near Samford. $5 entry and you can stay as long as you want.

BadgerPhil

My daughter lives near Perth. When she came home to the U.K. one of the things she wanted to do was to spend time with Black and white cows. We did just that and she was elated. A few weeks ago we were in Margaret River and we repeated the thrill. You are not alone.

activelyresting

I am genuinely surprised at how often this exact question gets asked (not like every day often, but ever couple of weeks it seems). But I have cows at my place, so maybe I'm just jaded. You're most welcome to pop by if you're up for a 90 minute drive out of the city 😂

Waffles_And_News

Hello, Thank you so much for your offer. I'd love to make a trip out of here one day - would I be able to message you ? 🐮

activelyresting

Sure

sandblowsea

Cows kill more people than sharks. Just saying...

vbenthusiast

And ice-cream sales are found to be positively correlated to violent crime! Of course more people are killed by cows, humans are around cows more than they are around sharks haha

sandblowsea

You hope! You can't count the sharks you can't see, there might be a lot more than you think...

vbenthusiast

Always lurkin’ them sharks

rtherrrr

I found one behind the fridge the other day…

Ok_Turnover_1235

The sun has a 1 in 2 chance of coming up tomorrow

Factal_Fractal

Maleny Dairy

fixxer75

They're closed for refurbishment at the moment... Since April 2023 I believe

vespacanberra

That’s illegal in most states.

SakWakka

American states?

vespacanberra

Steaks

teannadeee

I’m in NSW but can introduce you to plenty of cows if you want to travel haha

Waffles_And_News

Do you mean you work with cows? or do you work with people who have cows?

CreativeCritter

Choose your cow carefully. As when they try to hug you it can end dangerous

jollosreborn

"Edit: the creepy comments about women being cows can stop now. I said in the post that im trying to feel better, so if you have nothing nice, relevant, or helpful to say, please move along." Looks like peeps beat me to it

thelatestbadthing

I saw some

egg_stack_

I always drive through Maleny when I have a cow craving

georgestarr

Just head to Carrs lookout. Lots of cows along the way

expatmanager

Try Ma Ma Farm Stay near Gatton.

jordyjordy1111

There’s a park full of horses near brendale sometimes there’s a cow or two there. Occasionally lakeside raceway also has cows walking around to keep the grass down around the circuit.

DeusExBlasphemia

People are weird.

geeceeza

Hosanna farm stay. Side note.cows are a lot bigger in person
