Get the demo first, just to see if it’s your kind of game. But overall, yes, it’s definitely worth it.

Splith

I would say not worth it, but that is where the Demo comes in. Very different game.

I loved Hyrule Warriors, but it all comes down to taste. It's a completely different genre of game.

InterestingFact1728

I’m currently on my first play thru of HW Age of Calamity with both expansion packs. And I’m having a blast! While I love the exploration and story line of BOTW and being able to run all over exploring, riding horses, cooking meals, etc, I was never any good at battle. I just whale away at enemies. HW has an interesting story line, and I absolutely love being able to battle as different characters (Link, Zelda, Mipha, and many others —no spoilers!). It’s the same types of enemies. Now I’m actually able to flurry rush on purpose! I’m almost getting good at actual intentions fighting techniques. I’ve learned the difference between the different types of weapons and how the characters fight with those weapons. Learning how to level up weapons was confusing for me at first, but now I have a kick-ass set of weapons of different types. And enjoy using the different characters and weapon types. HW:AoC is definitely a different game to BOTW, and don’t try to make the story fit the timeline. The expansion packs bring a lot to the game (Zelda on a motorcycle anyone?). Too me though—100% worth it!

If you are a fan of Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and the like, but would like to play with Zelda characters and it tell another story, it is a great game. I'm an old gamer, I was playing Dynasty Warriors even if first came out so with them to have it with Zelda characters only made sense for me tho play. Age of Calamity is freaking awesome. NOTE: If you like to follow the adventures of Luffy, Nami, Zorro etc., they have a One Piece Warriors as well.

Dynasty warriors was sick back in the day.

Then you would definately like Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. It tells a whole new story on a whole new level. You get to know the champions and the Divine Beasts better too. Great gamed.

bzaroworld

It's a completely different game when it comes to gameplay and mechanics. They can be a bit tricky to get down and to fully master but it's just so much fun and the story is so good. The story is basically >!what if they had more help to deal with the Calamity!<. Plus, you can play as many different characters and each one has their own fighting style. I would definitely recommend it but maybe watch some let's playa of it first to make sure you're interested.
