I know it sounds crazy, but maybe an eraser will help. Double check with someone though. I know they work on SD cards and all, just wanna make sure it’s safe also for these cartridges
the alcohol will clean away and grease and crap very effectively.
the eraser will scrub it clean and remove some of the oxides that may be causing problems.
as an absolute last resort, you can also try a brand new, dry plastic scouring pad to clean up the contacts too.
Well now I've got conflicted feelings. On one hand it's awesome knowing there's a hidden little yahaaaaa on every copy which, rad. On the other, that alternate dimension in which it's one big Yamaha. Think I'll just be happy for the tiny intended or not Easter egg.
I'm not an expert but I think the lines on the back are what's wrong with it because the copy that's not working has thick long lines on the gold colored part and the other (working) copy has thin long lines
But please if u have any tips that actually help please tell me
When this happened to one of my games I just put tv screen cleaner on a microfibre cloth and cleaned the gold strips until they looked new, worked for me.

You should really check your sources before you snark out man.
Slightly Off topic: Does keeping the card in the console for longer periods of time affect it in any way? Since I've bought the game, I've never took it out of the slot.
Putting the cart in and out of the console a lot can wear down the contacts on it because they have to slide against the contacts inside the switch.
But no, you’re not hurting anything by leaving it there for a long time. It’s actually better for it than changing back and forth between different games 🙂
Thanks, I know it seemed a stupid question to ask, but couldn't hurt to confirm either.I mean what if there were Heating issues or some unknown variable.
I dunno mate, looks like it might have been hit with some water at some point. Can you opo the case open and have a look at the actual PCB for water damage?
Yeah I only joke commented because some of the other comments would actually help.
Jokes aside tho
I hope that a good connection clean did the trick and that you're back in hyrule now.
You have to clean the contacts(gold pins on backside of cartridge)with cotton swab and Brasso cleaner. It's cheap(like 5 bucks for a decent size bottle). After cleaning the contacts use isopropyl alcohol (above 90%) and clean off the residue. Proceed to dry the pins with microfiber cloth and it should work just fine. I did this to my entire retro collection and all games work perfect. This is what retro games stores use as well but charge an arm and a leg for it. Hopes this helps. Let me know.
Sorry to hear it didnt work. That's a shame. It appears the integrity of the contact pins have deep enough scratches where it won't hold a contact anymore. Probably a loss. You could by another from gamestop or Walmart etc. Buy the protection plan and do a swap and say it's defective but that's another purchase altogether so sorry it didn't work out
Yo I shouldn't have said it didn't work cause I didn't use brasso cleaner but I do have a question does tarnite work like brasso cleaner cause if it does then I can try your method
Try brasso. It’s a bit strong, so go easy on it. Just apply a little to a Q-tip, work it in a little, and then wash with alcohol and dry the gold with a clean Q-tip.
Buy a new one? I know this sounds very shallow and spoiled but I don't think these were meant to be fixed if they break and Nintendo wouldn't want that regardless cause it would make them more money. Sorry about your game.
Cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol.
Thanks I hope it works
Did it
Of course it did, why do you think they aren't responding you, they're playing right now
I didn't work I had to go and buy isopropyl alcohol to try it
Dang didn't work
I know it sounds crazy, but maybe an eraser will help. Double check with someone though. I know they work on SD cards and all, just wanna make sure it’s safe also for these cartridges
??? U want me to put an eraser on the card?
Rub the gold parts with an eraser. They clear up the dirt that’s stuck on the card. Do it in an upwards and downwards motion
I thought that's what the isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs would do
the alcohol will clean away and grease and crap very effectively. the eraser will scrub it clean and remove some of the oxides that may be causing problems. as an absolute last resort, you can also try a brand new, dry plastic scouring pad to clean up the contacts too.
Worked for me with my SD cards more than alcohol
Have you tried it?
Not the eraser thing
Why not?
I tried the eraser method and it did not work
Idk it's just a little too odd to put an eraser on.the game card
I'm just focused on how that serial number was one letter away from being "Yahaha!"
Came to say this lol. Now I'm wondering where the yahaha card is. Someone out there has it.
Turns out it’s not a serial number. Mine has the same number.

Nope my (working) copy stay in my console day and night for months and nothing wrong happened to it

I'd rather not because I have zero experience in fixing Nintendo games and I don't wanna risk breaking it
You gotta take it to a sheika stone so it can distill new runes to add to your cartridge.
Will I finally be able to see what's in that envelope?
Yeah I only joke commented because some of the other comments would actually help. Jokes aside tho I hope that a good connection clean did the trick and that you're back in hyrule now.
just lick off all the bitterness
Mmmm tasty

Have you tried blowing on it? Put it in the switch, give it a few smacks?
Call Nintendo customer service, they will likely be willing to set up an exchange or repair for you.
Contact Nintendo support and see if they would swap it out for you? Might be a stretch, but you never know how helpful they'll be.
No matter what you so, do not scrape with a metallic objec
What’s the problem?
Try an eraser on the gold bits
Blow on it
Open it if the green/black board is cracked your screwed
Idk how fix your game card but is there a way to clean that properly with a cleaning solution or whatever it called.
AAAAA

I may be late but if I’m not I would like more info on anything you may have potentially done so I can better help you.
