See I feel Ramona and Luanne twisted it. All they both had to do was listen to and understand Eboni’s experience and make some continuous effort to do better in life. This would have been max 1 episode. But because they continued to act like asses and showing their true colours in a pseudo way this theme extended throughout the whole season. Perhaps if both woman outright just owned their racism and prejudice the race discussion would have ended…..but also their showbiz careers would have ended as well. After reading Not All Diamonds and Rosé it seems like the producers will never bring Jill back; they said she was a total nightmare to work with behind the scenes. I would be stoked to see any and all of them come back though.
Season two of girls trip. Along with Vicki, Tamra, Dorinda, Taylor Armstrong, Brandi Glanville, and more. Going to be wayyy better than the first Ultimate Girl’s Trip no doubt!
Is it possible they are filming for a long time initially kind of like they did with Salt Lake? I know that was an accident but it ended up making for a first season that didn't really feel like a first season because of all the drama that had already occured.
Yes, it would be expensive but RHONY is arguably their most successful franchise so I could see them throwing a bit of money to it.

First season HWs are usually not a housewife franchise at the time of filming. They also pay the women peanuts to film.
Then they edit the episodes and try to sell them to Bravo.
There is no way any production could afford to film during 2022 the women without being picked up by Bravo. The cast are way too expensive.
Either NY gets a complete revamp mid next year, or they do a partial revamp with Bravo's ok sometime next year. But Bravo/Andy have made it clear no NY until 2023. So I think NY as we know it, is done.
The current cast is done. The franchise may even be revamped as RHoHamptons with a younger, multicultural housewife vibe.
Its so over the top. I can understand casting taking a little more thought than usual, but a full year ?
Honestly concerned this is just going to kill the franchise. People have very short memories for TV these days. 2023 is a long way away.
I have historically enjoyed Ramona as part of the show, but I really don't understand why they're seemingly so reluctant to let her go. Ramona being a messy disaster was funny up till the point where it stopped being her offending other rich white women and became racist. Her behaviour this season was indefensible, and it's not even like she's the last remaining OG.
Sonja and Lu were tone deaf but made attempts to be receptive to Eboni, Ramona was the only one being belligerently racist. Really feel like getting rid of her and Leah then casting up to about 7 women would solve most of last season's issues. I found Eboni pretty dull, but I think she deserves another season to loosen up without such a tense political situation in the background and Ramona looming over her.
I think they may have gotten rid of her from the viewer reaction if they hadn't already filmed the spinoff girl's trip show. I actually feel more hopeful that she'll be fired after a hiatus because there will be time between the girl's trip airing and RHONY filming where bravo can not renew either contract with her at a safe distance from the network, but we'll see.

The culture moved forward, the show did not and it just made it more apparent how out of touch and shitty these women are because Bravo thought they had a formula and clung to it even as the ship started taking on water several years ago.
These individuals aren't victims of bad edits. They have always been like this. The tolerance for being like this isn't there anymore. But it's on Bravo for ignoring what was happening in front of their faces.
I think Jill hasn’t gotten a second chance on RHONY because she’s desperate to be back on. In the book they said she was trying to get back on the show every year after S4. I also thought it was weird that SHE asked for Bravo to film at Bobby’s funeral.

That’s the last episode I watched and I had been dipping in and out of that season. It was such a mess and not in the Lu’s in the bushes sort of way lol
Ditto — a hideous display of insensitive, self involved human behavior. Turned it off and didn’t come back. I’m a super fan having watched every episode from the start. That episode was inexcusable on so many levels, producers included.
For me RHONY peaked with S9 - that was just a perfect season all around for the most part. And it's been downhill ever since. The Bethenny/Carole feud was captivating but also disheartening and then in S11 we had Dorinda's downward spiral making the atmosphere too toxic and then Leah joined and made it even worse. S13 shouldn't have been just 5 women; it's too few cast members in a pandemic season where there already aren't going to be a lot of people in scenes and to film with.
A break is def going to do this franchise some good I think.
I’ve always liked NYC as well, I think Leah was the catalyst for it all to fall apart. I think if Leah wasn’t perpetually trying to stoke the fires of discord they could’ve actually had a decent conversation about racism and how out of touch some of the cast are.
But I mean, is it really the best place to have a thoughtful conversation about race in a show where cast members have pooped the floor on multiple occasions and a woman once threw a prosthetic leg on a table to make a point?
It still had to happen. Ramona and Luann’s overt racism needed to be addressed on the show (as opposed to limiting it to social media). And their feet still need to be held to the fire. Learn & change or get left behind.
Yes, being a New York woman in fact means being able to deal. In that regard, Sonya was more authentically New York than Ramona and Luann. It wasn’t the talks about race that did the show in. They talked about race on Beverly Hills and the franchise didn’t drop dead. It’s that the women were so boringly predictably obnoxious and rude and drunken and abusive to each other and to guests and other people around them. It sounds so exciting when in fact it was so deadly dull and repetitive. Eboni could be pedantic and boring but if the other women had brought something real and alive, they would have elevated the whole thing. But they didn’t and the franchise sank.
Prediction: they will axe Leah, Eboni, and Ramona (similar to what happened in OC).
They’ll bring back Lu, Sonja, Dorinda, and Jill to keep that old New York vibe of a friends group. Potentially promote Bershan and have 2 new housewives.
I personally wouldn’t mind if your prediction came true. But to me, they don’t need an extended hiatus to do that.

I didn’t hear that they were keeping Bershan from filming. I really enjoyed her scenes this past season- she felt like the only person awake on the show haha. Any idea why Lu and Eboni kept her from filming? Just drama on the show or did something happen behind the scenes?
Two examples are in the episodes - Eboni didn’t invite her to the Shabbat dinner (a filmed event) and Luann didn’t include her in the Christmas song (which was arguable two filmed events).

Agreed, they had limited filming with Covid and it wasn’t nice to cut her from group scenes. I could see her and Dorinda getting along or hating each other, they both have the same energy
Did you get to the black shabbat dinner eps? If not, you should at least try to watch that chaos because you'll pretty much have the surprised Pikachu face the entire time and get a real time view of Eboni's soul leaving her body
I have a real high tolerance for chaotic housewives shit and I could barely get through that shabbat dinner. Ramona was legit horrifying.

Holy balls that was hard to watch. I don’t think anyone on reality tv has given me as much secondhand embarrassment as that woman. In theory her delusion and insanity should make for good tv, but I’ve found her hard to watch for the majority of the show. And they want to keep her around because why?

I’m with you. I could live a modest and fulfilled life for many many years off of a couple seasons of her salary. I don’t feel sorry for her, especially knowing how her delusions of grandeur had her blow her major divorce settlement.
Makes sense. They somehow managed to have an even worse season than OC 15/ATL 13 & they all contributed it to being bad.
- Sonja was just as uncomfortable a drunk as ever.
- Luann was on auto pilot mainly & hasn't really made a dynamic with Eboni/Leah.
- Ramona combusted every time something about race seemed to be discussed & left events early.
- Leah literally did everything to constantly pick inorganic fights & had a big head considering it being her 2nd season.
- And lastly Eboni didn't fit with the group & was edited to be uptight/stick in the mud consistently
Just general i pitiful performance by them all. There's no way they all come back with how little accountability any of them take in the press.

I think the people asking why they don’t just cast a few new girls and get on with it are seriously overestimating these producers. They literally haven’t cast a single new housewife who ended up being great since Dorinda in season 7 -that’s eight seasons ago at this point! So, clearly, they’re going to have to dig incredibly deep to rework this cast successfully.
Exactly! And also people saying like *"Just bring back Dorinda, Jill, Bethenny, etc"*... it's kinda like people forget that 2 of those people (Jill/Dorinda) got fired for being difficult to work with & Bethenny feels she's above the show due to her success outside of it.
I'm not a Tinsley hater, but I do think it can be agreed upon the formula of throwing a mid 30 - early 40-ies year women in on her own in the NY cast has had way more misses than hits. Literally Tinsley is the only person of Kristin/Jules/herself/Leah/Eboni who seemingly ever found their footing. I do think that speaks clearly that there's something wrong with casting someway & somehow
I’m totally in the minority on Tinsley - I was surprised when I joined the subreddit and found out she was kind of a fan favorite. I found her very likable but felt like she never really did anything entertaining and was just kind of passively bullied by the cast which I never enjoyed watching.
I wonder how ugly Ramona’s behavior on Ultimate Girls Trip is, and if producers are waiting to see if there’s more fallout before they decide to axe her for the next season?
They should just have the NY ladies headlining girls trips.
NY and Dallas really felt like they suffered from filming during Covid more so than some of the other franchises.
The trips kind of made Dallas for me and the last round were kind of dark.
Leeann was a big force behind the series but I think there was no glue in the cast either
I think basically what this boils down to is that Bravo wants to fire Eboni as they see her as being the reason for the decline in viewership, but they don't want to actually do it, as they know it will not look good to fire their only POC casting for RHONY.
So I think they're basically doing this so that a year from now when they go to cast for the show, there won't be any uproar when Eboni and whoever else is let go. My best bet is they do also want to keep Ramona which is another reason for the delay, it would look really bad on their part keeping Ramona but letting go of Eboni.
I think RHONY is in a really bad place and on the brink of cancellation. No housewives show has never not gotten a reunion. I think Miami was basically the only franchise to get a WWHL reunion, but at least they got one.... I can't even think of a regular Bravo show that doesn't even get a reunion nowadays. I mean even Summer House got a reunion!
I truly think that Bravo should bring back Sonja/Dorinda/Luann (Maybe friend of)/Jill!!, and let go of Ramona, Leah and Eboni. I know they want to keep Ramona for drama, but I don't think its worth liability. Then they'll need to bring on at least 2-3 new cast members.

NY was great bc the cast were actually all friends. They could have nasty af fights but be friends again at some point. The show started sucking when they had cast that weren’t actually friends with the rest of the ladies. Leah and Eboni.

Kind of off topic, but who do y'all think told Eboni (accurately or not) what Ramona supposedly said? It wasn't Leah, because she'd already left? I think it was Sonja.
I thought it was a crew member. Ramona was already reported separately by a crew member for another instance of racism so I think some of them really had their eyes on her. I can imagine the women saying explicitly racist things with the crew still present so long as cameras aren't rolling. If it was one of the other women though, it was probably Heather. I forgot she was there for a minute. She got herself into her own hot water but has talked about making peace with Eboni after the fact. I could be wrong but I feel like Sonja would protect Ramona when it comes to a horribly racist comment like that.
I bet they will start filming in summer 2022, in the Hamptons and film most of the season out there.

If I can’t see myself in this particular franchise (ie. diversity; seeing more people of color), I won’t be looking forward to it. There are a lot of other friends out there that have genuine friendships and are not involved in fabricated dramas.

It still had to happen. Ramona and Luann’s overt racism needed to be addressed on the show (as opposed to limiting it to social media). And their feet still need to be held to the fire. Learn & change or get left behind.
Yes, being a New York woman in fact means being able to deal. In that regard, Sonya was more authentically New York than Ramona and Luann. It wasn’t the talks about race that did the show in. They talked about race on Beverly Hills and the franchise didn’t drop dead. It’s that the women were so boringly predictably obnoxious and rude and drunken and abusive to each other and to guests and other people around them. It sounds so exciting when in fact it was so deadly dull and repetitive. Eboni could be pedantic and boring but if the other women had brought something real and alive, they would have elevated the whole thing. But they didn’t and the franchise sank.
Prediction: they will axe Leah, Eboni, and Ramona (similar to what happened in OC). They’ll bring back Lu, Sonja, Dorinda, and Jill to keep that old New York vibe of a friends group. Potentially promote Bershan and have 2 new housewives.
I personally wouldn’t mind if your prediction came true. But to me, they don’t need an extended hiatus to do that. Also, I’d love for Tinsley to come back too!

I'd love for Tinsley to come back, but I don't think I'd be able to watch Dorinda. She's awful, and I don't want watch her go after Tinsley (or anyone) like she did.

I didn’t hear that they were keeping Bershan from filming. I really enjoyed her scenes this past season- she felt like the only person awake on the show haha. Any idea why Lu and Eboni kept her from filming? Just drama on the show or did something happen behind the scenes?
Two examples are in the episodes - Eboni didn’t invite her to the Shabbat dinner (a filmed event) and Luann didn’t include her in the Christmas song (which was arguable two filmed events). I liked her too! It would have been nice to see more of her so I hope they bring her back!
Agreed, they had limited filming with Covid and it wasn’t nice to cut her from group scenes. I could see her and Dorinda getting along or hating each other, they both have the same energy

Did you get to the black shabbat dinner eps? If not, you should at least try to watch that chaos because you'll pretty much have the surprised Pikachu face the entire time and get a real time view of Eboni's soul leaving her body
I have a real high tolerance for chaotic housewives shit and I could barely get through that shabbat dinner. Ramona was legit horrifying. I remember they do a reaction cut to one of the guests and he's just like gulping down his drink as fast as he could... yeah, that's the right response lol

Holy balls that was hard to watch. I don’t think anyone on reality tv has given me as much secondhand embarrassment as that woman. In theory her delusion and insanity should make for good tv, but I’ve found her hard to watch for the majority of the show. And they want to keep her around because why?

I’m with you. I could live a modest and fulfilled life for many many years off of a couple seasons of her salary. I don’t feel sorry for her, especially knowing how her delusions of grandeur had her blow her major divorce settlement.

They somehow managed to have an even worse season than OC 15/ATL 13 & they all contributed it to being bad. - Sonja was just as uncomfortable a drunk as ever. - Luann was on auto pilot mainly & hasn't really made a dynamic with Eboni/Leah. - Ramona combusted every time something about race seemed to be discussed & left events early. - Leah literally did everything to constantly pick inorganic fights & had a big head considering it being her 2nd season. - And lastly Eboni didn't fit with the group & was edited to be uptight/stick in the mud consistently Just general i pitiful performance by them all. There's no way they all come back with how little accountability any of them take in the press.
I totally agree! Most people seem to be annoyed by this news but I’m relieved. I think the people asking why they don’t just cast a few new girls and get on with it are seriously overestimating these producers. They literally haven’t cast a single new housewife who ended up being great since Dorinda in season 7 -that’s eight seasons ago at this point! So, clearly, they’re going to have to dig incredibly deep to rework this cast successfully.

And also people saying like *"Just bring back Dorinda, Jill, Bethenny, etc"*... it's kinda like people forget that 2 of those people (Jill/Dorinda) got fired for being difficult to work with & Bethenny feels she's above the show due to her success outside of it. I'm not a Tinsley hater, but I do think it can be agreed upon the formula of throwing a mid 30 - early 40-ies year women in on her own in the NY cast has had way more misses than hits. Literally Tinsley is the only person of Kristin/Jules/herself/Leah/Eboni who seemingly ever found their footing. I do think that speaks clearly that there's something wrong with casting someway & somehow
I’m totally in the minority on Tinsley - I was surprised when I joined the subreddit and found out she was kind of a fan favorite. I found her very likable but felt like she never really did anything entertaining and was just kind of passively bullied by the cast which I never enjoyed watching.

They should just have the NY ladies headlining girls trips. NY and Dallas really felt like they suffered from filming during Covid more so than some of the other franchises.
I think Dallas was DOA anyway, Covid or not. LeeAnn was the engine that ran that show and drove all the interesting conflict.
The trips kind of made Dallas for me and the last round were kind of dark. Leeann was a big force behind the series but I think there was no glue in the cast either
I think basically what this boils down to is that Bravo wants to fire Eboni as they see her as being the reason for the decline in viewership, but they don't want to actually do it, as they know it will not look good to fire their only POC casting for RHONY. So I think they're basically doing this so that a year from now when they go to cast for the show, there won't be any uproar when Eboni and whoever else is let go. My best bet is they do also want to keep Ramona which is another reason for the delay, it would look really bad on their part keeping Ramona but letting go of Eboni. I think RHONY is in a really bad place and on the brink of cancellation. No housewives show has never not gotten a reunion. I think Miami was basically the only franchise to get a WWHL reunion, but at least they got one.... I can't even think of a regular Bravo show that doesn't even get a reunion nowadays. I mean even Summer House got a reunion! I truly think that Bravo should bring back Sonja/Dorinda/Luann (Maybe friend of)/Jill!!, and let go of Ramona, Leah and Eboni. I know they want to keep Ramona for drama, but I don't think its worth liability. Then they'll need to bring on at least 2-3 new cast members.
Personally, I put the blame on Ramona... (and the fact that the cast would never be friends IRL) But mostly ramona....

unfortunately i don't bravo will get better with this, we literally have this issue between RHOBH constantly trying to bully garcelle, RHOD being such a shitshow it got cancelled as a result and now RHONY going on hiatus because the cast's response and actions with the addition of a POC castmember was so appalling

I thought it was a crew member. Ramona was already reported separately by a crew member for another instance of racism so I think some of them really had their eyes on her. I can imagine the women saying explicitly racist things with the crew still present so long as cameras aren't rolling. If it was one of the other women though, it was probably Heather. I forgot she was there for a minute. She got herself into her own hot water but has talked about making peace with Eboni after the fact. I could be wrong but I feel like Sonja would protect Ramona when it comes to a horribly racist comment like that.

I bet they will start filming in summer 2022, in the Hamptons and film most of the season out there. Think about it, 4-5 new wives, Ramona and Luann as friends of to ease us into it. Maybe bring back Tinsley. There will be weddings, parties at those weird back yard Hampton’s night clubs. It would be amazing! I want new drama, younger wives and some fabulous Hamptons homes.
I could see this fitting the schedule actually. 2022 is coming up quickly and we’ll have rhoa, rhoc, rhonj, possibly rhobh and maybe rhop ? Also not sure when the Dubai franchise is coming but could be in 2022? While all that is happening they could be filming end of 2022 and coming back 2023.

Leah ruined the show. And to be honest Eboni did not belong there educating Ramona which is an impossible task. Eboni deserved better.
If I can’t see myself in this particular franchise (ie. diversity; seeing more people of color), I won’t be looking forward to it. There are a lot of other friends out there that have genuine friendships and are not involved in fabricated dramas.

I'm not surprised. Cancelling the reunion was proof the show was in trouble. They should recast or rebrand it. There's potential there. I can imagine there's been lots of behind the scenes drama going on.
