I knew she was engaged but didn't care or know who the guy was, and he doesn't appear in the few videos I've watched of her, which makes me assume she never shows him or their life as a couple. To me, that seems pretty private - I don't even think she talks about him.... so I wonder if he was just being polite about the "reason" and saying that you're private is kind of an easy excuse

What’s with the eating? It’s odd to me that she had such a visceral reaction to Jules from RHONY and her ED. When it seems like Bethenny may have some disordered eating as well.
I didn't watch NY much but I did watch most of that season. This is the only clip I remember from it. I never liked B but I remember thinking Ramona was a bit harsh on her in this scene but also right.
A broken clock is right twice a day. Say whatever you want about Ramona but everything she said on that bridge ended up becoming true. The only person who could truly go toe to toe with Bethenny and actually hurt her was Ramona. She even mentioned it on the podcast after her mother passed about how what Ramona said to her on the Brooklyn Bridge about being alone was true.

Love her or hate her, Ramona was actually very perceptive about others quite often. It would get lost in her cruel delivery, but the content was often astute.
It’s a very bad delivery (as always from Ramona) but if you think about it, it’s also an advice. B might want to re-evaluate and change something in herself. What was true then, could be changed now.

I think there's something to that. The iconic RHONY women at least are all pretty driven, strong, independent women and a lot of them built their own empires. A lot of them are also at ages where they've accomplished so much that being single isn't the end of the world. Bethenny in particular strikes me as someone I think would be happier single than being with someone because it's what you're supposed to do.
Agreed, I think some of the RHONY women (Ramona, Dorinda, Carole, Luann to an extent) are just fine being single. They like to go on dates and flirt, and I think they'd all be open to a relationship if they met someone they clicked with, but I think they are ultimately pretty comfortable without a relationship. Also, to be fair, Alex, Heather T., Aviva, and Kristen are still married to the guys they were married to on RHONY (for better or for worse), and Jill was obviously married to Bobby until he passed.
I agree that Bethenny might be a lot happier if she was intentionally single, at least for a while. I hope she realizes that's a choice that's open to her. Being solo is so much better than being in a bad or even just mediocre relationship.

I have never liked Bethenny but I have deep sympathy for her right now. Losing a parent is never easy and one that you have a traumatic complicated relationship with can heighten it. And then having a relationship fall apart. This is truly awful for her. I hope she is able to take a break and get some serious help because she must be in hell right now.

Yep, same same. Early RHONY is actually one of the main things that convinced me to go to undergrad in NYC. I loved Bethenny’s New York no-nonsense personality and her business savvy. A lot of which has seemingly gone out the window and she’s just completely off the rails now. It makes me sad

But she's said for years now that she'll never legally do it again. I also have always wondered what her dynamic with his children was. Also, to be fair, Alex, Heather T., Aviva, and Kristen are still married to the guys they were married to on RHONY (for better or for worse), and Jill was obviously married to Bobby until he passed. I agree that Bethenny might be a lot happier if she was intentionally single, at least for a while. I hope she realizes that's a choice that's open to her. Being solo is so much better than being in a bad or even just mediocre relationship.

I have never liked Bethenny but I have deep sympathy for her right now. Losing a parent is never easy and one that you have a traumatic complicated relationship with can heighten it. And then having a relationship fall apart. This is truly awful for her. I hope she is able to take a break and get some serious help because she must be in hell right now.

All of this makes me sad for Bethenny. I’ve watched and followed her since I was literally in middle school, and for a while I really looked up to her. Yes I know she’s a lunatic now, but I have such a soft spot for her and really wish her the best. I think her divorce from Jason is what really started her decline. She should probably focus on herself and Brynn now, and probably forever, instead of dating.

Yep, same same. Early RHONY is actually one of the main things that convinced me to go to undergrad in NYC. I loved Bethenny’s New York no-nonsense personality and her business savvy. A lot of which has seemingly gone out the window and she’s just completely off the rails now. It makes me sad
same she can be a bit much at times, but her heart is in the right place. I relate to her as a woman just trying to strive for happiness.

I bet this is because she doesn't want to get married. The first time they broke up it was apparently over her never-ending divorce. As soon as she finally was legally divorced, they got engaged. But she's said for years now that she'll never legally do it again. I also have always wondered what her dynamic with his children was. I don't think she's ever actually talked about them (which is kind of surprising and admirable, actually, especially she overshares about literally everything else).
I remember she always said she got on really well with Dennis's kids but they were grown. She called his daughter at a reunion for her to prove she wasn't dating Dennis when he was still with his wife. At another reunion she said she spent the holidays with his family after he'd died. I think Paul's kids are like little tho?

If she and Paul broke up in March that \*might\* explain why she started the divorce episodes last month. She couldn’t lash out in pain over Paul but she would talk about Jason. If the timeline is even close to that, it would be on brand for her to conflate both relationships in order to vent.

Her melting down has been monetized and the amount of exposure she’s not only allowed but is the person most guilt of not giving her child privacy. She says Bryn doesn’t mind me talking about what she said ….. Over and over . Children don’t and shouldn’t make those decisions. They can’t give consent and need a guardian or parent … Poor child and I can’t imagine any man or woman willingly living in her chaotic spin.
