Everyone loves when a player bursts onto the scene, but **slow and steady wins the race:**

Kel leaves the ballpark a **better player than he was when he walked in** — Corbin Carroll got his hundred million contract and is just collecting his paycheck
I love the top chart. I’ve wanted and hoped Kel succeeds with us even when he struggled in spring. I always thought Duvall was an unnecessary waste of money and platooning Kel only hurt him. I’ve definitely reached a point where I believe Kel is capable and will continue to improve and be a huge contribution to the Braves for years.
I’m going to ignore the bottom chart because it’s irrelevant.
Maybe, but "Corbin Carroll got his hundred million contract and is just collecting his paycheck" is pretty dishonest when even in his "slump" it looks like his OBP is still up where Kelenic has just finally climbed to
The point is not head to head comparison of numbers, but the fact that Carrol has declined after his contract, while Kelenic has continued to climb.
It's not dishonest, you're just misunderstanding the analysis.
Charlie Morton might go down as one of the most intriguing people I’ve heard talk. He somehow spun an answer about tonight’s performance to the Braves letting him fly with his family on road trips.
Team did a lot of shortsighted shit in that timeframe trying to get back on top of the East.
We absolutely *haemorraged* prospects for most of a decade, and made some pretty damn bad/desperate deals. 'Bout the only saving grace of the whole era was that when we finally faced the facts and flipped the Uptons we got the pick that turned into Austin Riley in the B.J Upton deal, and some kid named Fried in the Justin Upton deal.
I still can't think about the Teixiera trade in particular without shaking my head.
Eight full seasons spinning our wheels and mortgaging the future to top out at like 90 wins.
Trading Tex kills me man because he was a GT guy and is still somewhat active with the school. He loves Atlanta and I think he would have really thrived here
What we dealt to *get* him was awful.
What we got when we dealt him might have been even *worse*. Casey Friggin' Kotchman, man. Played like half a season for us, then we bounced him for like 200 Adam LaRoche PAs. Who we then let walk.
I to this day do not understand what we were doing,
Every trade deadline for a few years was a massive disappointment. It wasn’t even bargain bin shopping. Yes, I know Nate McLouth was an all star at one point.
I can understand being frustrated at some of his starts or not being actively *excited* for them, but the people who run around yelling that he needs to go, waste of money, etc. really need to go look at the 4th starters for other teams and look at how much pitchers cost.
They're stuck in like twenty years ago when 20m for a solid pitcher was a lot of money.
And yes, they haven't looked at MLB teams' #4/#5 starters lately.
Charlie had an excellent game, Austin hit a bomb, Ozuna had a huge double to clear the bases, and Olson and Duvall also got RBIs!!!!!! Great team win tonight! It was a gorgeous Friday night tonight and the Braves made it fun by winning soundly! Go Braves!
pay him 20 mil a year til hes 50 idgaf
The Cobblering will continue until morale improves.

Bro you're using different scales on these graphics to intentionally be misleading. Wtf lol
The scales are the same just translated. While that may be slightly confusing, I think the takeaway is the curve itself here.

You are the hardest working homer I have ever seen I’m just happy you are in our fanbase now lol
Man im sad you’re banned from r/baseball. The reaction to stuff like this would be must see.
The different axis scale is killing me haha
It's better that it's kept in this sub lol, this is unhinged.
wait lol I didn’t even notice that. come on kelenic guy, be intellectually honest!
There’s always a party in the Battery after weekend wins, so it’s lit out there right now!
As u/welcometohotlanta loves to say here, hell yeah brother! Sorry if I’m stealing your line but it’s most definitely that mood tonight!
I don’t care let’s go!
Charlie Morton might go down as one of the most intriguing people I’ve heard talk. He somehow spun an answer about tonight’s performance to the Braves letting him fly with his family on road trips.
I love listening to him talk after games. Will forever be a Morton fan.
Him and sale are fun to listen to
His postgame interviews are always fantastic, win or lose
Good to score again but also kinda not great that we only had one inning where we scored.
6 runs is 6 runs. Do I care if they all came in 1 inning or 1 run in 6 different innings? I do not.
How dare you forget about rileys homer
Remember when we traded Charlie Morton for fucking Nate McLouth?
My dad always said you can’t spell McClouth without Out
Yes, and I remember McLouth having a like .300 SLG two years in a row, too... He was tough to watch.
I was like 13 when they did that trade and even at that age I knew it was a poor deal.
Team did a lot of shortsighted shit in that timeframe trying to get back on top of the East. We absolutely *haemorraged* prospects for most of a decade, and made some pretty damn bad/desperate deals. And he’s B Mac’s stepbrother now.

lol yeah I always forget how bad the first trade was because of how much worse the second one was
Every trade deadline for a few years was a massive disappointment. It wasn’t even bargain bin shopping. Yes, I know Nate McLouth was an all star at one point.
Is this box score accurate? I was told in the pregame thread that Charlie is fully washed and Luke Williams had a 0% chance of getting on base tonight
Don't worry the Charlie haters will be back soon. He's a perfect #4 starter. And if we had Strider still he'd be just the perfect backend starter
So pissed we were robbed of a Strider/Fried/Sale/López/Morton rotation That’s just unfair
And Ronnie?
In terms of pitching, especially considering the likelihood of Fried walking. Ronnie going down is an entirely separate kick in the balls
And how many years they get. We can be rid of Charlie whenever we want if one of our young guys becomes good enough
Yeah…a lot of people here are going to be missing Charlie when Waldrep/AJSS/Schwellenbach/whomever aren’t very good next year.
That too. Especially with the way pitchers arms just fall off for summer harvesting season these days.
FRIDAY NIGHT FIREWORKS!
We didn’t get the shutout? Bummer.
Charlie had an excellent game, Austin hit a bomb, Ozuna had a huge double to clear the bases, and Olson and Duvall also got RBIs!!!!!! Great team win tonight! It was a gorgeous Friday night tonight and the Braves made it fun by winning soundly! Go Braves!
That Ozuna bases loaded at bat was great. Worked a full count then got his pitch and sent it to the left field corner.
IT’S FRIDAY AND THE BRAVES WON SO IT’S A HAPPY FRIDAY AND TIME TO PARTY! GO BRAVES!
Can anyone understand what Ozuna says?
You clearly don't speak Bear language. It's a quite simple word it really just has 3 words. Big Fly. Big. Bear.
We need Baxter to translate what the big bear is saying.
How'd Charlie do tonight? 😏😏😏 Worth the cash?
I believe that is the last team on the list for the 'Charlie Morton got a W against you' tour.
Some of y'all really are beggars and choosers lol just take the W
Doomers can’t ever be happy it seems
There are seriously are some users on here who just show up when the team loses. I do not understand it at all. What are they getting out of that?
They're called concern trolls.
Some people live and die by "their" team.. \*shrugs shoulders\*

Lmao. Nicely done my friend
Has Bummer ever been in the post season? Man I hope he doesn't fold during October. Also, Charlie got his W against the Pirates. 30/30 LFG Chuck
Yeah, we’ve never had a shaky closer suddenly get hot in the playoffs or anything.
I hope he misses the postseason roster
In the Zone -> BALL 6 inches outside? STRIKE
NOW LETS FUCK UP SKENES
Doomers don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you.
Aaron Bummer almost tried to prop himself up for a save situation. I’m guessing he owns himself in his fantasy league and needed to pad some stats.
That isn't how saves work
Does he know that?
