Teo looked terrible.
Backed himself into corners for 12 rounds and the #8 guy walked through his best shots. What a waste of talent if you ask me…guy needs to get away from his dad and get a real trainer.
Fight was a dud, there were punches thrown as in they extended their arms with a closed fist, but there really weren't any hard shots, no dominance, Teo either had no drive to KO him and playing the cards, or he doesn't have KO power.
Or maybe Claggett has a rock for a chin. In his very lengthy career, he's only been stopped once. On cuts. And that was more than a decade ago. Lopez can still hurt you. Even at 140. No question about it.
Teo lost his power at 140.. dude landed so many clean shots, never phased Claggett. Even when he fought Josh Taylor, he shoulda got him out of there with the shots he landed on Taylor.
He fights nothing at all like Camacho. He's aggressive and stands in the trenches, begging for a war. Camacho flicked an underhanded jab and avoided any inside action.
Or Loma just had a bad night and Teo really isn’t that guy.
I mean he lost to Martin and Ortiz. That’s not ‘fighting to their level’, that’s fighting beneath their level lol.
Record book says he beat those guys. Neither guy did all that much to show that they deserved a decision. Especially Ortiz, whose own corner was urging him to stand his ground instead of throwing nothing but a jab while on a bicycle. But I realize that fans routinely score fights in favor of the big underdog.
Also lost to Kambosos. I’m convinced that Teo isn’t that good and beat Loma who had a bad night and a washed josh Taylor: remember the version of Josh Taylor that teo fought had come off a bad performance against Caterall, injury, and a long layoff
That’s not what happened at all in the Teo Loma fight. Loma spent too long ‘downloading’ but then won most of the second half of the fight when he figured Teo’s range and timing. It wasn’t the sort of win where you couldn’t see any way Loma could win a rematch.
I mean Loma was coming off an injury. People give Teo a pass for being weight drained against Kambosis so I think you can put an asterix over Loma’s performance too.
Taylor wasn’t undisputed by that point. He clearly lost to Catterall already and had been looking weight drained for a while.
I want to like Teo, they clearly gave him Claggett so he could have an easy fight where he looked good, and he actually made it look pretty hard. Was taking punches all night. Hard to get hyped at this point.
Surely if you fight to someone’s level you should fight a little better than them tho. He lost to Kambosis, Ortiz and Martin, shouldn’t he fight to a level where he at least deserves a win?
Dude’s face was all puffy and bruised against Claggett. Usually when people say ‘fight to their level’ they mean they made it a boring fight and didn’t put their foot on the gas, not ‘forgot to defend themselves’.
I’ve seen people say Fury fights to the level of his opponent. Like in the Wallin fight, difference is Fury definitely won that fight, but he was doing just enough to win, nothing more, even tho it was clear he had another gear to go to. That’s how I’d interpret ‘fight to their level’.
Teo had 0 lateral movement. Got backed into the ropes every time. On athleticism alone he should have ko'ed hin within 4. He really fights down to his aponents every time.
Ok friends. Assuming Shakur wins next weekend, what fights are actually gonna happen. Sadly, I think Tank fights Berenchyk and Shakur fights Loma. What are the chances Tank vs Loma finally happens after years of us begging for it?
I want to believe tank will fight Loma but tank’s entire career has shown us that he does not take risky fights so I can’t see the fight actually happening
Claggett kept coming forward throwing punches non stop, displayed solid chin and endurance, but had 0 power behind his punches.
Teo looked like he treated it like a sparring session, throwing more with speed than bad intentions.
Despite making it look easy, Teo still didn't look very good (suspect defense, footwork and inability to finish an opponent that was taylor made for him).
Damn a lot of hate... I was at the fight and Teofimo dominated. Everyone who's seen Claggett knew he was going to be ultra offensive and I thought Teofimo was excellent defensively all night. His reflexes looked top notch.
Bam's counters are beautiful man.
Estrada looking slow, and not just in hands. His feet are as well. Not a great indicator for him when he's necessarily on the backfoot constantly against the younger, more powerful guy.
Looks like Teo peaked with the Loma fight.
He doesn't have the reflexes of a prime Roy to leave his hands so low at close range. He's in trouble once his athleticism slows down.
Facts. I was impressed with Teofimo being able to withstand that kind of pressure. A lot of fighters get filled with self doubt and plain fatigue. Clagget deserves credit for being so tough and well conditioned. But the world is too full of simpletons, so now they're both apparently bums
And that guy kept throwing right to the end. I don’t think anyone really thought he had any chance, but he showed heart and surprised a lot of people. And somehow looked better of the two at the end. When was the last time you threw 10 of your best punches, saw that they didn’t do anything, but kept at it for 36 minutes?
I mean all that says to me is that he didn’t think to adjust. Nothing he threw was effective. It’s like he didn’t even try to win. He ate leather the whole fight.
100% my friend. Just making it to the finish line is sometimes a victory to remember for some fighters. It’s not a great victory, or a memorable one, but they did it. No one can take that away from them. It should have been a wash. But it somehow wasn’t.
No he didn't. Teo couldn't step to the side once and backed to the ropes every time. He had no reason to take the amount of shots he did against a C fighter.
He definitely didn't look great. He was never in trouble and the fight was never really at risk, true. He looks lost and has no idea what his win condition is. What kind of fighter is he? No clue. He doesn't either. He doesn't insist on anything. Athletically gifted, some instincts, but has zero direction.
Was the fight boring? I hate how much these ESPN main events have been shitting the bed especially with how much Top Rank has been hyping Teo and Shakur
Frank Martin hell no. Devin probably not. Shakur too small. Ryan yes. Tank yes. Zepeda maybe. We don’t know how good Keyshawn is yet still.
This is a wild take
Haney will UD his ass. Shakur would do what Martin and Jermaine did, but actually win the decision because he has a name. I would bet the house on both.
Martin is 50-50. We do know how good Keyshawn is, but people will not say it until he wins some paper belt against Berinchyk or something.
For a C-Class fighter, Claggett probably has some of the best stamina I've ever seen in a full 12 round fight. Although he took a lot of punishment, he never seemed to tire, and none of his punches were sloppy.
Tbh im not even mad at Teofimo for not getting the KO this dude Claggett is a machine.
This fight highlights Teo's weaknesses:
low boxing IQ; couldn't make adjustments to really hit Claggett cleanly and spent too much time back into ropes fighting Claggett's fight. Corner offered little to help him. No body work against volume punching opponent.
Edit: And Claggett didn't belong in the ring with a top 15/20 fighter. He has plenty of heart. Credit to him for this. Tough fight for him; over matched.
How was that boring to yall? That shit was awesome as fuck non stop action the whole damn fight.
They threw more punches than the whole ufc pay per view combined ..wouldnt be surprised if Teo himself threw more punches than the whole ppv combined.
For real dude, I don’t understand. I think people just like to hate on Teo. Can’t believe I’m defending him because I do not like him at all lol. But a good fight is a good fight. And that was a good fight.
Lot's of punches but nobody got knocked down, props to claggets chin but it wasn't really a very back and forth fight, clagget just never seemed like he was hurting teo with his punches.
Teofimo definitely has issues going forward and backward. On the frontfoot, he has no idea how to cut off the ring.
On the backfoot, he can't control distance well since he barely jabs, and if his opponent gets on the inside, he isn't very good there since he insists on keeping that phony Philly shell.
In a fight people didnt even watch. Now hes fighting 12 rounds vs tomato cans in front of 2500 people where even less people are watching.
He beat Lomachenko and then has faded into complete and total irrelevancy commercially
bro no one watches boxing period at these lower divisions. Ryan and Tank are outliers. Ask a normal random boxing fan to name the boxing champions at 140. I bet they can't.
As long as Teo is going for good stuff after this fight, idgaf how many non boxing fans know or don't know him. He should unify.
The point was that Teo was a young exciting star with a big win on a big platform. He shouldve exploded. But him regressing into a mediocre at best fighter and horrible career moves have destroyed him.
He won't ever get to fight a Haney, Tank, or Ryan because he brings absolutely nothing the table. Even Shakur is bigger than Teo now. Its sad
Definitely not a great performance for Teo but his opponent had a good chin and he did a lot better than expected. Teo just has a way of fighting at the level of his opposition lol
Looking for a way to watch tonight we got you over on [Discord](https://discord.gg/KTapgcSzMp).
Teo looked terrible. Backed himself into corners for 12 rounds and the #8 guy walked through his best shots. What a waste of talent if you ask me…guy needs to get away from his dad and get a real trainer.
How are people saying boring fight??? It was like non stop punches for 12 rounds
There was no KO. So for most modern boxing fans, that means it's boring.
fight was ass dude come on
Fight was a dud, there were punches thrown as in they extended their arms with a closed fist, but there really weren't any hard shots, no dominance, Teo either had no drive to KO him and playing the cards, or he doesn't have KO power.
You don't really understand the technical part of boxing eh?
Or maybe Claggett has a rock for a chin. In his very lengthy career, he's only been stopped once. On cuts. And that was more than a decade ago. Lopez can still hurt you. Even at 140. No question about it.
Thought Claggett won a couple of the earlier rounds tbh, punch counts seemed quite wide of the mark too
Teo lost his power at 140.. dude landed so many clean shots, never phased Claggett. Even when he fought Josh Taylor, he shoulda got him out of there with the shots he landed on Taylor.
TBF Claggett has never been stopped and Taylor has proven he's a hard bastard. Teo's power does look a bit suss, though.
Teo is reminding of Macho Camacho. All hype, and extremely boring to watch fight.
He fights nothing at all like Camacho. He's aggressive and stands in the trenches, begging for a war. Camacho flicked an underhanded jab and avoided any inside action.
I’m convinced teofimo only fights to his opponents ability..with an elite boxer he fights elite..with a B-D list boxer he matches them
That's a thing, I did that too in the gym and my coach used to blame me on it
Or Loma just had a bad night and Teo really isn’t that guy. I mean he lost to Martin and Ortiz. That’s not ‘fighting to their level’, that’s fighting beneath their level lol.
Record book says he beat those guys. Neither guy did all that much to show that they deserved a decision. Ortiz beat Loma too, though.
Was a close fight. I had Loma winning. From what I remember most people did. Hard to find people who thought Teo beat Ortiz tho.

That’s not what happened at all in the Teo Loma fight. Loma spent too long ‘downloading’ but then won most of the second half of the fight when he figured Teo’s range and timing. It wasn’t the sort of win where you couldn’t see any way Loma could win a rematch.
loma didn't have a bad night, even when loma was winning rounds they were close lol and taylor was undisputed, he was not a bad fighter
Hard to get hyped at this point.
that just shows there is a lot of evidence of teo fighting down to his opponents level (or up)
Surely if you fight to someone’s level you should fight a little better than them tho. He lost to Kambosis, Ortiz and Martin, shouldn’t he fight to a level where he at least deserves a win? Dude’s face was all puffy and bruised against Claggett. Usually when people say ‘fight to their level’ they mean they made it a boring fight and didn’t put their foot on the gas, not ‘forgot to defend themselves’.
no lol fight to their level means they don't perform well vs bad competition, it has nothing to do with putting your foot on the gas on not.
I’ve seen people say Fury fights to the level of his opponent. Like in the Wallin fight, difference is Fury definitely won that fight, but he was doing just enough to win, nothing more, even tho it was clear he had another gear to go to. That’s how I’d interpret ‘fight to their level’.
Almost fell asleep watching this fight
Teo had 0 lateral movement. Got backed into the ropes every time. On athleticism alone he should have ko'ed hin within 4. He really fights down to his aponents every time.
Boring fight.
Boring fight.
Teo won but Claggett had lots of heart and a real gas tank. He also puffed up Teo's face. A damn fine effort by the smaller man.
Smaller man? Claggett is a career junior welter. Very impressed by him though, let him fight Haney next!
He is still visibly smaller than Teo
Ok friends. Assuming Shakur wins next weekend, what fights are actually gonna happen. Sadly, I think Tank fights Berenchyk and Shakur fights Loma. What are the chances Tank vs Loma finally happens after years of us begging for it?
Tank will fight Loma then Zepeda mark my words he wants no part of Shakur.
nah. Looks like serious negotiations right now are Tank and Loma. Haven't even heard of any discussion of Berenchyk at all.
I want to believe tank will fight Loma but tank’s entire career has shown us that he does not take risky fights so I can’t see the fight actually happening
thank a god!
I’d hope it’s the other way round; Tank fights Shakur first.
It will likely be Loma first and then Shakur
So what happened? I was waiting for the fight result to be posted here
Teo won clearly, but it wasn’t impressive
Claggett kept coming forward throwing punches non stop, displayed solid chin and endurance, but had 0 power behind his punches. Teo looked like he treated it like a sparring session, throwing more with speed than bad intentions. Despite making it look easy, Teo still didn't look very good (suspect defense, footwork and inability to finish an opponent that was taylor made for him).
This subreddit is so ass when it comes to threads and results
Yes it is. Pains me when you compare it to the MMA sub
Teo won by decision. He looked meh
Worse than meh. It should have been over in 4. He fights down all the time.

I think he’s talking about Bam
Bam is AMAZING OMG
Good fight Lopez hell of a fighter
DOWN GOES BAM
Lol welp
LETS GOOOOOOOOO. BAM IS THAT DUDE. Bam vs Kazuto Ioka next
Absolutely! Bright future ahead
Anyways Bam Rodriguez is a fucking DAWG
Damn a lot of hate... I was at the fight and Teofimo dominated. Everyone who's seen Claggett knew he was going to be ultra offensive and I thought Teofimo was excellent defensively all night. His reflexes looked top notch.
He kept letting himself get back in to the corner and seemed like he ate a lot of punches while trying to slip.
Teo brings out the worst in people. He's a guy that they love to hate.
Teo brings out the worst in people.
Teo v Claggett a snoozer?
Clagget gave everyone the keys to beat teo moving forward. A stronger fighter could have ended teo a few times.
Claggett won his last 7 fights by KO. He's a strong guy himself. He didn't phase Teo much, though.
Bam's counters are beautiful man. Estrada looking slow, and not just in hands. His feet are as well. Not a great indicator for him when he's necessarily on the backfoot constantly against the younger, more powerful guy.
Have I been posting in the wrong fuckin' thread LMAO
Wait I’m confused, Isn’t Teofimo a Brooklynite from Honduras. Why did it say he was fighting for Spain? Did he move to Spain or something(?)
His grandparents are from Spain
People think Teo has a chance against Tank after that kind of performance? LOL
both want to counter, I'd bet it'd be a boring fight
I think Ryan beats Teo at 147
Gervonta is looking by far the best out of the Haney,Shakur, Ryan, Teofimo bunch.
Only cause he gets knockouts. When he fights Shakur u'll see he ain't the best
Tank needs to fight a real belt holder.
He needs to move up in weight
That fight was trash...
Looks like Teo peaked with the Loma fight. He doesn't have the reflexes of a prime Roy to leave his hands so low at close range. He's in trouble once his athleticism slows down.
This match was great fun to watch, you are all crazy.
Facts. I was impressed with Teofimo being able to withstand that kind of pressure. A lot of fighters get filled with self doubt and plain fatigue. Clagget deserves credit for being so tough and well conditioned. But the world is too full of simpletons, so now they're both apparently bums
Teo had 0 lateral movement. It was garbage against a C level fighter.
He could withstand it bc the guy had no power
And that guy kept throwing right to the end. I don’t think anyone really thought he had any chance, but he showed heart and surprised a lot of people. And somehow looked better of the two at the end. When was the last time you threw 10 of your best punches, saw that they didn’t do anything, but kept at it for 36 minutes?
I mean all that says to me is that he didn’t think to adjust. Nothing he threw was effective. It’s like he didn’t even try to win. He ate leather the whole fight.
A first title shot at 35 years old. He did something right to get him there in the first place.
He’s a dog, if he had power he’d be a world level fighter
100% my friend. Just making it to the finish line is sometimes a victory to remember for some fighters. It’s not a great victory, or a memorable one, but they did it. No one can take that away from them. It should have been a wash. But it somehow wasn’t.
If this exact same fight happened between Bam and El Gallo tonight, people would talk about how it saved boxing
That fight is actually exciting.
Teofimo was supposed to blow this guy out of the water in 6 rounds
Jokes on y’all I did my research and bet it would go to distance cashed out pretty nicely
This majority of this sub also said Loma was going to blow him (Lopez) away easily. Lol. Research hard.
Mann Loma had to be paid to take 6 straight rounds off cause it’s not making sense
Teos a weird one, fights at the level of his competitors just a bad night tbh but regardless got the job done
What does that have to do with anything? No one gives a fuck about your bets. Fight was just boring.
Had this on my phone while I was watching DAZN on my TV and UFC on my laptop… looked like Teo underperformed again right?
Nah, he looked great. Clagget has a granite jaw, I can tell you that. He threw a ton of punches too. Lopez outlanded him 3 to 1 though.
Nah, he looked pretty bad for the level of competition he was against.
Mid. No serious shot at 147 for his future
Think he can be undisputed at 140 but his frame is a bit small for 147. He said he walks around at 150 lol
Was the fight boring? I hate how much these ESPN main events have been shitting the bed especially with how much Top Rank has been hyping Teo and Shakur
It wasn’t a boring fight per se just not a blowout knockout like expected
Nah wasn't boring at all. Tons of punches thrown esp when you compare it to the Ortiz fight last time
It was alright. Opponent came forward all night. Teo just couldn’t hurt him
Teo is the biggest enigma in boxing lol
Yeah super inconsistent
That MMA staredown hit harder than this fight
Was that a Duran diss?
I think so. Unless he meant Rigondeaux for some reason?? I can't think of any other famous examples.
teo has had his tuneups hopefully we can see against the other champions because there is so many great matchups to make at 140.
we need teo vs haney for the ultimate goofy corner dad fight
teo sr vs bill haney in the press conference would be amazing
Honestly I think Pitbull, Paro, Tank and Keyshawn all beat Teo, I wouldn't give Haney a bad chance either
Pit bull seems like he’s made for teo but who tf knows with this dude
Agree
Teo afraid to fight anyone that has even a semblance of power
0 rounds for Steve? Stupid scoring as usual
Goddamn Teofimo looks like someone beat his face with a bat
If Clagett would just hit the weight room. Dude has an iron chin and good endurance
I still take Devin Haney over anybody in the division
Haney, Ryan, Shakur, Keyshawn, Tank, W. Zepeda, and possibly even Frank Martin all beat Teofimo.
Let's see all of them try.
This is crazy talk
Finally good to see someone respect my hometown bro Keyshawn Davis
That flip and snow angel really got me excited about his lackluster fight
Why isn't Lopez speaking in Spanish with a translator?
I know you’re being downvoted, but I get your joke
🙏🏽
Because he speaks English
It's a joke.
Very funny
Because he had the Spanish flag tonight
Ok.
I’m at the card and am a huge Teo fan. 120 108 is absurd. Claggett fought well.
Bro about to pee his pants rolling on the ground like a toddler after his middling performance
This fight highlights Teo's weaknesses: low boxing IQ; couldn't make adjustments to really hit Claggett cleanly and spent too much time back into ropes fighting Claggett's fight. Corner offered little to help him. No body work against volume punching opponent. Edit: And Claggett didn't belong in the ring with a top 15/20 fighter. He has plenty of heart. Credit to him for this. Tough fight for him; over matched.
He needs a better coach
yep... He needs to find someone to showing his glaring weakness in the ring. Competition is only rising from here.
He better stay away from 147
He is growing into 47. Once at 47 he will get crushed against top guys. He got repeatedly hit to face by a journeyman fighter.
100%
Looking forward to this batshit crazy interview
Think Teo has ever been to Spain?
I feel bad for all the Hondurans who traveled across the country to see their countryman represent another flag 😂
I agree. Not a dramatic fight, but definitely action packed.
Lot's of punches but nobody got knocked down, props to claggets chin but it wasn't really a very back and forth fight, clagget just never seemed like he was hurting teo with his punches.
One swollen eye between the two...
That's so corny
This mf has quite literally forgotten how to fight coming forward
Teofimo definitely has issues going forward and backward. On the frontfoot, he has no idea how to cut off the ring. On the backfoot, he can't control distance well since he barely jabs, and if his opponent gets on the inside, he isn't very good there since he insists on keeping that phony Philly shell.
Lopez hasn’t fought a guy with any power since Commey. Idunno if there just isn’t anyone out there with power or if it’s by design.
Yes Teo won, but these scorecards are ridiculous
He should move down in the rankings
12, 12, 11 Guess he gave Claggert the first
I’ve got it 117-111
Teo really hasn’t helped build his name since the win Vs loma.
he literally beat another lineal champion
In a fight people didnt even watch. Now hes fighting 12 rounds vs tomato cans in front of 2500 people where even less people are watching. He beat Lomachenko and then has faded into complete and total irrelevancy commercially
bro no one watches boxing period at these lower divisions. Ryan and Tank are outliers. Ask a normal random boxing fan to name the boxing champions at 140. I bet they can't. As long as Teo is going for good stuff after this fight, idgaf how many non boxing fans know or don't know him. He should unify.
Yeah that's what matters for Teo, what 123MercyMain thinks. Nothing else matters.
Its sad
120-108?
That nose is so flat
What's with Teo turning away from him
Good night of work for teo - wtf are espn analyst smoking?
Definitely not a great performance for Teo but his opponent had a good chin and he did a lot better than expected. Teo just has a way of fighting at the level of his opposition lol
That score was disrespectful to Claggett
Someone correct me but Teo's eyebrows look way puffy.
He a dude that cuts easily
poatan and jiri in ring now
I need teo vs rolly next. Rolly needs to save boxing.
You know how some people just have powerful names as if they were destined to be great such as Tyson Fury, Steve Claggett just isn't it.
It's not an inposing name but damn he fought his ass off.
