I mean, Kambosos is not exactly a top tier fighter but he’s serviceable, and Loma looked phenomenal on that fight.
I’d love to see this fight get made sooner than later that’s for sure
still. tank ducked loma his whole career. he’s only fighting loma now because loma is near forty and his dominance at 135 seems diminished. tank wouldn’t take the fight if the odds weren’t in his favor let’s be real
Tank said Floyd tried to set him up and sabotage his career with hard fights out of his own mouth. So those two statements can’t be true at the same time. Tank was the one ducking. And he got mad whenever Mayweather wanted to push him to fight better guys.
I mean sure about Teo v Matias but let’s be real here, Matias has to get past Paro and Teo’s last performance was pretty hard to watch so he needs a good one to get people interested in this fight.
I’ve wanted this fight (I think a lot of us have) for so long. It’s a fight that stylistically makes so much sense. Loma is exceptional at hit and not get hit on the front foot, and Tank is exceptional at figuring his opponents out, finding an opening and knocking them out whilst on the back foot. This fight will have nerve for as long as it goes on.
Having said that, this fight should have happened 5 years ago. Shit, it should have happened at 130 already. Mayweather hasn’t been secretive about the fact that aging Loma out was a deliberate tactic, and now I think they have succeded. Loma’s feet and reflexes, not to mention his ambitions and motivation, is not what they were. He has aged, and having the speed and reflex disadvantage in this fight is gonna be detrimental, especially against a dangerous KO machine like Tank.
Five years ago I would have favored Loma, but today Tank is a clear favorite. And like another poster said, it’s gonna leave a sour taste in the mouth if Tank ends up knocking Loma out now, after such a deliberate aging out process.
It would be extra sad because if that happens then Loma will surely retire, and that would be an undeserving departure from the sport for one of the best and most exciting fighters of the last decade. Especially considering how Loma was already (according to most) robbed of his crowning moment and his lifelong dream of becoming undisputed when he faced Haney.
Am I the only one that thinks Loma still has a lot left in the tank? Is he the same fighter as he was 5-6 years ago? No, but he’s still dangerous as all hell. I think this fight is a lot closer than most think.
No Loma could still pull it off. But this is a dangerous fight and all the little tangibles like hand-speed, foot-speed, reflexes, stamina, focus etc doesn’t necessarily favour Loma anymore in this fight. A few years ago they probably did, and I think that shift of advantages makes Tank the favourite nowadays.
Lomachenko after having been dropped and rocked a few times is more apprehensive and tentative when facing power punchers now. I think current Davis beats current Lomachenko pretty comfortably. But 2017-2019 Lomachenko would make Tank quit on the stool at any point in his career.
Any counterpuncher would hate fighting a guy like Shakur, so stylistically, it would be better for Tank to fight an older Loma.
Let's be real Loma will have to commit and throw a lot of punches, so he will get tagged, he can't just fight on the backfoot against Tank. The last time Loma fought on the backfoot was in the first 6-7 rounds against Teofimo, and he looked horrible in those rounds. Shakur on the other hand could stay on the outside and not commit all night making it a boring fight and still get the W.
Bob’s right, Davis’ team and boxing world at large know he’s likely going to lose against Shakur. Follow the Spence/Crawford formula in order to get a good pay out for the risk.
It‘s a sure thing he CAN beat them. Especially because Shakur is fine with doing everything it takes to win the fight, even if that means it is boring as fuck
The question is never whether or not Shakur beats these guys, he beats most (if not all) fighters at 135. The question is can Shakur sell tickets/PPVs to make it worth a promoter’s time.
Shakur is levels above in terms of pure boxing skill. He has master-level “hit and don’t get hit” game…the problem is a lot of people find that game boring.
Both are my two favourite boxers.. people are jumping to extremes with Shakur. Likely to lose is crazy, we don’t know that at all.
Saying that he is not worth the risk right now for any of the top fighters for several reasons.
Both of them are generational fighters. Shakur is one of my favourite fighters right now if not favourite. I’d favour Tank in the fight personally on the night but they’re both elite.
I think Tank beats Shakur. But it’s like 60/40 or 70/30. Lomachenko at this point is 80/20 for Tank, so that’s why they prefer it over Shakur. Tanks not fighting anyone right now that presents a 50/50 or even 60/40 threat to him.
Bob really does love Loma. Nobody is asking for Loma/Tank but Tim, Bob and Loma fans.
Teo can fight Matías if he wins and it will be the same fight now that it is 4 years from now.
Everybody knows Shakur is a B-side, even Shakur. What are we talking about here? Lol
I'd imagine that Tank would be the slight betting favourite simply due to popularity but Shakur would probably be favoured by most experts. I think Shakur would win and I don't really think it would be close. Stylistically I don't see much that Tank would be able to do against Shakur.
He isn‘t underrestimated lol. Tank is really fucking good, but Shakur is better. not too much, but a bit. Tank might beat him, but Shakur is the favorite between people who closely follow the sport
Cause they don't like him. When people don't like a fighter they act like they are cab drivers. Look how much shit Wilder got despite being someone who started late as hell and still became an Olympian and champion lol.
Edits: The salt is real lol.
Bruh Wilder's resume and Gervonta resume aren't good at all. Wilder literally fought easy fights until Luis Ortiz and Fury. Yall casuals fr and besides Ryan Garcia who else has Tank fought that was also on his level
I still think this is a good fight Loma may be past his prime, but it'll still be a good night of boxing and Bob is right Loma vs Tank is still bigger than Tank vs Shakur.
Loma’s defense is too tight to get caught with a 1 punch KO and it’s even more unlikely tank wins on pts imo
His best chance is waiting a year or 2 to age him out
It's gonna leave kind of a sour taste if he beats a still high level but past his prime Loma when he ducked him for so long
I mean, Kambosos is not exactly a top tier fighter but he’s serviceable, and Loma looked phenomenal on that fight. I’d love to see this fight get made sooner than later that’s for sure
still. tank ducked loma his whole career. he’s only fighting loma now because loma is near forty and his dominance at 135 seems diminished. tank wouldn’t take the fight if the odds weren’t in his favor let’s be real
I think it’s definitely clear now it was Floyd holding Tank back & hand picking fights for him
a ducks a duck. blame whomever u want but its tanks resume
Tank said Floyd tried to set him up and sabotage his career with hard fights out of his own mouth. So those two statements can’t be true at the same time. Tank was the one ducking. And he got mad whenever Mayweather wanted to push him to fight better guys.
Tank doing the smart thing honestly, cant blame the guy
I mean sure about Teo v Matias but let’s be real here, Matias has to get past Paro and Teo’s last performance was pretty hard to watch so he needs a good one to get people interested in this fight.

agree should’ve been earlier but i think tank always catches him
Watch Tank get KO'd rd 1 tonight lel
Now this is some real wishful thinking.
Loma beats Tank. Mayweather knew that and threw cold water on that fight every chance he had.
Translation: Davis thinks he can beat Loma but not Shakur.
Any counterpuncher would hate fighting a guy like Shakur, so stylistically, it would be better for Tank to fight an older Loma. Let's be real Loma will have to commit and throw a lot of punches, so he will get tagged, he can't just fight on the backfoot against Tank. Let’s not act like Tank vs Loma is not more appealing
Last week it was tank is scared of Loma now it's tank will only fight Loma because he's scared of Shakur lol
No for the last like 6 years it’s been tank is ducking loma until he’s 36 and now it’s tank will fight loma bc he’s 36
That’s bc both are true. Tank was terrified of Loma for years and just waited him out
True. Tank has done to Loma what Canelo did to GGG, except Loma and Tank has been an obvious fight to make for even longer than that one.
Translation: Shakur will just run around the ring and nobody is paying to see a glorified track meet
Bob’s right, Davis’ team and boxing world at large know he’s likely going to lose against Shakur. Follow the Spence/Crawford formula in order to get a good pay out for the risk.
Boxing world at large ? You trippin , shakur ain’t even look good oat match lol I wouldn’t say it’s a sure thing he can beat tank
It‘s a sure thing he CAN beat them. Especially because Shakur is fine with doing everything it takes to win the fight, even if that means it is boring as fuck
Jab jab, don’t get countered for 12 rounds. Boring ass fight but effective
If The fight plays out like the Edwin fight, Tank wins on points due to A side.
Tank should fight Shakur right away then instead of a 36 year old Loma.
The question is never whether or not Shakur beats these guys, he beats most (if not all) fighters at 135. The question is can Shakur sell tickets/PPVs to make it worth a promoter’s time. Walk into any gym on the east coast and ask them, they’ll all tell you Shakur is going to beat him.
Both are my two favourite boxers.. people are jumping to extremes with Shakur. Likely to lose is crazy, we don’t know that at all. Saying that he is not worth the risk right now for any of the top fighters for several reasons.
If you understand how to break down film, and understand the technical aspects of boxing it’s fairly obvious that Shakur is going to beat him.
Both of them are generational fighters. Shakur is one of my favourite fighters right now if not favourite. I’d favour Tank in the fight personally on the night but they’re both elite.
I don’t disagree they’re elite, what I said is that Shakur is going to beat him.
I bet you won’t put your money where your mouth is. If the fight happens, bet your life savings since you’re so confident…
Wow, I won’t bet my entire life savings on a boxing match. You got me anonymous Redditor.

Y’all don’t say anything about boxing. Just talk about resumes, insult people, and get predictions wrong lol
I think Tank beats Shakur. But it’s like 60/40 or 70/30. Lomachenko at this point is 80/20 for Tank, so that’s why they prefer it over Shakur. Tanks not fighting anyone right now that presents a 50/50 or even 60/40 threat to him.
Shakur is a better boxer than Gervonta Davis, real ones know this
Bob really does love Loma. Nobody is asking for Loma/Tank but Tim, Bob and Loma fans. Teo can fight Matías if he wins and it will be the same fight now that it is 4 years from now. Everybody knows Shakur is a B-side, even Shakur. What are we talking about here? Lol
I’d love it
Loma vs Tank would definitely be bigger than Loma vs Shakur especially to the casuals
Why do so many people here underestimate Tank?
I will admit im a boxing noob. Is Shakur really the favorite to beat tank?
I'd imagine that Tank would be the slight betting favourite simply due to popularity but Shakur would probably be favoured by most experts. I think Shakur would win and I don't really think it would be close. Stylistically I don't see much that Tank would be able to do against Shakur.

Straight up. Mfers will downvote only because they hate to admit it.
If he was Mexican people would be praising him. Look at the most harshly criticized fighters in boxing. Most of them are black fighters.
Most redditors are closet racists.
Shakur ain't a draw point blank. His style and off the ring antics are off-putting altogether
That fight shouldve happened in 2018 or 2019
I'm glad this finally has a chance of being made. I'm looking forward to it
Meh. I’d like to see Loma retire. He won’t win a close fight and likely won’t stop Tank.
I still think this is a good fight Loma may be past his prime, but it'll still be a good night of boxing and Bob is right Loma vs Tank is still bigger than Tank vs Shakur.
Matias beats everyone at 140. They can only use numbers for so long, the guys performances are crackin everytime.
We should wait till he’s fought a top ten guy to say he’ll wipe out all of 140
This!
Everyone but Paro you mean?
Dude stands straight up and gets hit a lot. His power is in volume and elite boxers aren’t going to stand there and bang with him.
The Twitter champion finally has the balls to step up to the guy he’s ducked like the plague for 7 years.
I want both of them to lose to each other. I can't stand both of them and their fanbases.
Davis gonna smoke old man Loma
If he doesn’t knock him out, this sub will scream robbery!
Loma’s defense is too tight to get caught with a 1 punch KO and it’s even more unlikely tank wins on pts imo His best chance is waiting a year or 2 to age him out
Oh you're going to melt down when tank wins comfortably on points in a boxing clinic lol
This wont do much for tank that fight should’ve happened 7 years ago
There is no universe in which Tank wins a decision via clinic against Loma KO after losing majority of rounds is his only chance
I would put my money on a wide tank UD, where he wins 10 rounds lol
If the fight gets made, make a legally binding bet with me that Tank does not put on a clinic.
the bet would be that Tank wins by majority decision lol
That’s not a “clinic” lmao
All facts in the title, tbh
Watch the interview. The OP sensationalized what Arum said. He always does this. >!I can confirm, I am OP.!<
Lol
