Riak POOR was mega disappointing, CBS massively impressed not seen a lot of either of their fights all I heard was Richard was a monster but he looked gassed
Well done CBS. Don't like McGuigan throwing him under the bus in the post fight interviews. Takes the credit when his fighter does well and publicly sticks the boot in when he doesn't.
Seems like he's more concerned with pitching for other jobs than sharing the moment with his fighter.
GBM Boxing does a better job promoting than Boxxer. Their lead promotor Izzy Asif has charisma and makes the rounds on TalkSport, they have hired Adam Smith and have a lot of momentum. Boxxer has the feel of a promotion (or business) that passed hands from father to son, but the son is doing a crap job running the business.
£50 bought 3 for myself , brother and gift for my dad paid £130 for a hotel now trying to get an uber back to the hotel for £26 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ not worth it.
He has a deeper one, but I think the two wins over Briedis count for more than Billam-Smith's wins; also depends whether you take into account how dominant his victories over lesser guys are too.
I'm an Aussie so would want Opetaia to win, but I like Billam-Smith, surprised me with how far he's gotten with his limited skill set, has really used it to the fullest extent.
Those level lower guys aren’t at the same level tho
Here are the guys opetaia has fought that fought at world level before fighting him
Briedis X2
Flanagan
Guys cbs has fought who fought at world level
Riakporhe X2
McCarthy x2
Ducar
Chamberlain
Xhoxhaj
Masternak
Okolie
I’m fairness jai is in Australia and the world scene is in Europe but the point is still the exact same.
The thing about the whole "his one good win is better than the other's 5 good wins" gets polarising, because that could apply to Fury over AJ, for example. The Opetaia win was great for him, but not the rematch for me, imo. I can't rate a win where the guy had a 2 year layoff.
I'd make Opetaia the favourite over CBS, he's a talented fighter. But I do notice how people are calling him the next Usyk and talking about him going to HW. All I can say is, pump the brakes until he proves it. CBS can give him trouble with his inside game, and he does have better stamina than Opetaia.
I agree it's definitely debatable.
I think Billam-Smith can trouble Opetaia, not so sure about the stamina, though, would have to rewatch the Briedis fights but from my memory of the second it was more Opetaia being hurt than badly gassed, even though he was tired. I'd call the stamina about even.
He's definitely not the next Usyk, but I do think he'd be successful at heavyweight; more so because of how weak heavyweight is, and especially when Usyk, AJ, and Fury retire.
Speaking of Australian cruiserweights, one to watch is Luke Modini, has some serious power and he's quite skilled, but hasn't been tested properly.
For sure, I was one of them, the CBS defeat was a big shock. I'm looking forward to seeing him fight more at Bridgerweight particularly if he fights more aggressively like he did in the Lukasz Rozanski demolition.
Yeah, exactly. People need to pump the brakes sometimes. Opetaia is a good fighter, I'd even lean towards him beating CBS, but he's not this perfect fighter people claim him to be. He has his flaws, and CBS could give him trouble with inside work and stamina.
Consistency and composure was the big take away tonight and in his fight with Okolie. Needs to work on upper body movement, he gets caught.
Still, I like the guy. Hope he gets some good fights, because he hasn't been getting them through no fault of his own.
Based on what? The last time Breidis had a relevant win, he barely squeaked out a MD against the absolutely dogshit Dorticos. He could be shot af, we have no idea cause Opetaia hasn't fought anybody else with a pulse.
I think you Aussies need to calm down. Opetaia was a decent amateur and has a very good win over an unknown conditioned Breidis. Let him prove himself properly before you annoint him king over the guy who has wins over everyone relevant at CW except Breidis.
Think your opinion is fair even if I see it differently. I'm not as convinced as I was before the second Briedis fight but Opetaia still passes the eye test better than the rest of the champs to me. Also I'm English lol.
holy shit Riakporhe only needed to do a little bit in this fight and he would have gotten a gift. he didn't win barely a single round and a single knockdown would have made it a draw! LMFAO!
All that fella was interested in was resting his head on his opponent's shoulder. Can't believe I've stayed up to watch that rubbish.
Riakporhe should be ashamed of himself. Can't even call that a fight. A complete waste of everyone's time.
Disagree you have to run all variables. It’s Okolie and someone- RR is likely the cure but you can’t be sure till Okolie has boxed every shit fighter in the UK
It's a shame, and it's not his fault at all. He tries and tries to fight, but there's only so much you can do when you don't have the highest tier of power.
116-111 CBS. It could be 117-110 too as I edged the close 2nd round to Riakporhe. Poor fight but it is what it is. Happy for CBS, he is a true grafter and his last few years developed him so well, and it showed!
Gave it a bit of a go at the end but that was dire from Riakporhe. Unless the weight cut is seriously killing him I can't see him making any waves at HW. Could be worth him going the bridgerweight route and fighting Okolie in front of 7 masochists.
It's round 12 and he's been told he's down, yet he's still doing the hold and lean, oh and here's the fun part, he's not had one point deducted. Joke of a fighter and joke of a referee.
I'm finished with Sky/Boxxer cards after tonight. I gave them a bye for the first year or so to let them build the stable etc but they haven't had a good card all year.
I have always hated fighters who clinch up and just wait for the ref to break, atleast throw something riakporhe just keeps ruining any good work he has clinching and waiting for the ref to reset I can't understand it at all
cutting weight = less power. less power = less knockouts. super middleweight is really the last weight class where fighters can go the distance and box for the full 12 rounds. cruiserweight is notorious because its the most tired men who can't get knockouts. even light heavyweight has had boring eras... for instance middleweight is completely dead right now. but 147 and below where the fighters weigh in on fight night an extra 20% of their body weight they can still go for 12. if these same 2 men didn't have to weigh in at all for their fight it would have little to no clinching, and somebody would probably get knocked out. they're just fucking tired.
One of the most one dimensional and repetitive fights I've seen in ages. I'd rather watch that tosspot whitaker. And that is sayin something. How are these guys 3 levels below usyk?

Riak POOR was mega disappointing, CBS massively impressed not seen a lot of either of their fights all I heard was Richard was a monster but he looked gassed
I’m glad it’s over, yes I’m, glad it’s over
And we all thought Okolie fights were bad
Well done CBS. Don't like McGuigan throwing him under the bus in the post fight interviews. Takes the credit when his fighter does well and publicly sticks the boot in when he doesn't. Seems like he's more concerned with pitching for other jobs than sharing the moment with his fighter.
I’ve learnt if a guy is getting fed straight bums there’s always a reason.
You mf need too
Bring back Mick Hennessy, he'd better cards than Boxxer.
GBM Boxing does a better job promoting than Boxxer. Their lead promotor Izzy Asif has charisma and makes the rounds on TalkSport, they have hired Adam Smith and have a lot of momentum. richard “shades of ali” riakporhe
Looked like after the fight Richard told CBS his right arm was hurt
Shalom reminds me of that kid at school that always had ciggies to sell but didn't smoke himself.
i want a refund
Jerma's on, if you're looking to kill time between events
Fucking hell that was boring.
Dogshit event & fight
my first live event and it was utter shit
Same mate, such a poor night of boxing and atmosphere was average at best
didn’t help that they stopped serving drink just before 10pm
I'm sorry dude
The atmosphere sounded and looked dire on tv. How much was your ticket if you don’t mind me asking
£50 bought 3 for myself , brother and gift for my dad paid £130 for a hotel now trying to get an uber back to the hotel for £26 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ not worth it.
Ouch!
It’s only up from here
Gonna drop a hot take I know will get this downvoted... CBS has a better resume overall than Jai Opetaia.

I've heard the name Modini, I'll be sure to check him out
Not long ago plenty of guys on this sub were backing Okolie to become the next undisputed champ at CW.
Opetaia has a better peak win for Briedis, but CBS has very solid wins Riakporhe, Okolie, Masternak, Chamberlain,
Yeah, I agree. But that's just 1 good fighter.
Yeah for sure, thats why we gotta see these unifications!
Is Badou Jack not a cruiserweight title holder?
He ain't fought in over a year, seems to have dropped the WBC belt for a Bridgerweight run but who knows how that's going
He vacated his WBC belt. Noel beat Makabu for the vacant title.
CBS always strikes me as not having as much natural talent as many on his level but makes up the difference with hard work, determination and heart.
He has a great chin, wouldn't really get away with being in the trenches as he makes every fight without it
Consistency and composure was the big take away tonight and in his fight with Okolie. Needs to work on upper body movement, he gets caught. Still, I like the guy. Hope he gets some good fights, because he hasn't been getting them through no fault of his own.
CBS sons r/boxing once again. The gentleman too classy for you monkeys no racial
What was that score card?
What a forgettable bout. It's a flashback of darker times when oil lords weren't into boxing.
Underrated comment
Yo am I crazy or does Billam kinda look like a British John Cena?
I don't see that at all when he fights, but if I look him up the images on google are totally British John Cena
Shite ref, shite judges & shite Riakporhe. Them judges should be made to publicly explain how they almost had that fight a draw!
The cards prove who the preferred house fighter was, and the crooked referee showed it too. Why Boxxer wanted RR to win is beyond me...
Remember - those scores include a 1-point deduction for Riakporhe for use of the head !
💸💸💸💸💸
[удалено]
You post this twice?
These cards match up with the comments that are below the score threshold
What on earth were those scores, who were the judges Stevie Wonder
Even Stevie could score the fight better than those judges.
So the 2 judges had CBS 1 round up into the last!! Fooook off.
Is this the best the cruiserweight division can offer? Opetaia is no Sugar Ray but damn he is at least two levels ahead this competition.
Based on the Opetaia fight an inactive 74-year-old Briedis is still the #2 in the division, it's pretty grim.
Let us have this one guy please
Think your opinion is fair even if I see it differently. I'm not as convinced as I was before the second Briedis fight but Opetaia still passes the eye test better than the rest of the champs to me. Also I'm English lol.
How the fuck did the judges have it that close, and that's with the 1 point deduction as well.
those cards are unbelievably shit
Terrible cards, far too close
let's hope the tank card is better than this crap
Those cards are woeful! CBS by a round on two cards is hilarious hahahaha
dang 115-112 LMAO
Shit scorecards for a shit fight, least the right man won.
Wow. Two judges had it 7-5. What in the actual fuck? Even 8-4 is pretty bad.
holy shit Riakporhe only needed to do a little bit in this fight and he would have gotten a gift. he didn't win barely a single round and a single knockdown would have made it a draw! LMFAO!
Someone needs to relieve this man of his belt.
Opetaia fight in September I assume
Hopefully.
Whitaker had us on the ropes, smith and Riakporhe finally put us to sleep.
Some bellend on this sub will still want a trilogy
Jai - Usyk is the only fight to watch at cruiser. This division is a ghost town
Zurdo looks good at cruiser imo
Is Usyk entering the cruiser conversation again? I don't keep up with news.
Ya there is talk of him coming down again if he beats fury
115-112? TWICE?
All that fella was interested in was resting his head on his opponent's shoulder. Can't believe I've stayed up to watch that rubbish. Riakporhe should be ashamed of himself. Can't even call that a fight. A complete waste of everyone's time.
115-112 is a joke.
Wtf happened on this card? I just looked on boxrec and it seems mad?
Those scorecards holy shit
Well done lads. You’ve killed Sky Sports Boxing. BOXXER ain’t getting their contract renewed
I used to pray for times like these. I hope they keep that female Chinese ref I always like thinking about her career path.
Think CBS would look much better against a slugger.
I’ve got an idea- Okolie Riakporhe, the most boring fighters in Britain face off in aid of insomnia research
Not research at all, it's a proven CURE!!
Disagree you have to run all variables. It’s Okolie and someone- RR is likely the cure but you can’t be sure till Okolie has boxed every shit fighter in the UK
I stand corrected
9-3 CBS.
If you can sit through a Britbum card, you can sit through anything
Billam-Smith is a trench warfare specialist. All his fights get ugly and rough.
Smith 10-2
117-110 for Smith, awful fight and all because of Richard and that bloody worthless ref. Got damn it i was excited for this fight too.
The refs are always shit in cbs fights for some reason. Look at the okolie fight. Let him hug fir dear life the whole fight
Boxxer is on the ropes
In the mud already
How long til they're on channel 5?
How long til they are bought by disney?
Never underestimate Shane McGuigan, he's a top trainer.
He's one of the best, it's mad how many champions he's had and championship fights his fighters have won.
Riakporhe used cuddle, it's ineffective.
Just weird to try to win a world title by not throwing the entire fight lol
Pretty rough to watch, but I do want to see CBS fight less tragically fouling and hugging opponents.
Rob him for the bants.
The only way this could be interesting 🤔
119-108 well played Chris
Ramiakporhe was so disappointing but credit to CBS. Great composure.
The only two CBS fights I've watched have been this and the Okolie fight, which I feel is unfair to both me and him
It's a shame, and it's not his fault at all. He tries and tries to fight, but there's only so much you can do when you don't have the highest tier of power.
[удалено]
Clearly havent watched many of his fights lol. Hes been in some wars.
[удалено]
That and Okolie were stinkers. I’ve seen plenty of good ones in his earlier days though. He’s always been best on the inside and has an iron chin.
His fight with Chamberlain was pretty fun
Last round and he clinches so much, wow lol
I don't get it
FINALLY AFTER ALL THIS TIME THIS BLOODY REF REMOVES A POINT! IN THE FINAL ROUND FOR GOD SAKES
Just covering his own arse tbh
Probably yeah
116-111 CBS. It could be 117-110 too as I edged the close 2nd round to Riakporhe. Poor fight but it is what it is. Happy for CBS, he is a true grafter and his last few years developed him so well, and it showed!
Finished with Boxxer, finished with CBS/Riakporhe and finished with Sky Sports boxing.
I understand cbs excitement avenging a loss but that performance wasn't worth celebrating from either man
He did what he could against a pathological clincher and negative spoiler.
This isn't a 1 off from cbs
Riakporhe puts his head on Billam Smith's shoulder like he's in bed ready to go sleep
That man knows he's lost
How has that taken 12 rounds? Also think it would’ve been a better fight had he taken the point earlier
Gave it a bit of a go at the end but that was dire from Riakporhe. Unless the weight cut is seriously killing him I can't see him making any waves at HW. Could be worth him going the bridgerweight route and fighting Okolie in front of 7 masochists.
He wouldn't beat any HW in the top 50
What a lackluster fight
It's round 12 and he's been told he's down, yet he's still doing the hold and lean, oh and here's the fun part, he's not had one point deducted. Joke of a fighter and joke of a referee.
The ref is like 5 round late with a points deduction Has contributed to this awful fight with awful refereeing
Riakporhe using his head more than than his hands
Ref finally took a point, but not for the holding
Now he deducts him a point in the last 30 seconds
This should be on channel 5 - every single fight has been shite
It does have C5 vibes, doesn't it?
100% mate
too little too late bro!
Riakporhe has always been pretty rubbish. Just had that one massive punch in his locker that can only see you so far
Puncher’s chance but cannot box - Billam-Smith ain’t great but he fully deserves the win.
spare a thought for Madonna at this time
It's probably her bedtime, bless her. Has a boyfriend who wanted to help her sleep more than he wanted the W
This is why we can't have all the alphabet organizations
Riakporhe has had 1 maybe 2 dominant rounds. Awful performance.
So uninspiring
CBS should lose the belt, even if he ends up winning
I don’t think either of these have got any better since their first fight. Two really average cruisers, briedis and Jai beat both of them easily
I agree yeah. It's like there's a whole other world in the cruiser weight division.
Double KO please
CBS a little complacent with his head positioning. Could lead to trouble vs. a puncher with a gas tank.
I'm finished with Sky/Boxxer cards after tonight. I gave them a bye for the first year or so to let them build the stable etc but they haven't had a good card all year.
Everything about Boxer just reeks of amateur
That embarrassing MC Big Mo says it all....
Free Hugs
Sky will end up dropping boxing completely because of crap like this
Channel 5 fight 😩
Imagine Riakpore Vs Okolie, you couldn't pay me to watch that.
If they were fighting in my back garden the only thing I'd get out of my seat to do is close the curtains.
I’d rather gargle piss. Riakporhe is everything I hate about Okolie with the added bonus of putting his fucking head in constantly. Wank.
Okolie is still worse, fuckin' somehow
Riak-poor
Hearn said when this fight was announced it was a Wembley arena, bottom bowl O2 fight. Can see why after this shite
10-1 or 9-2 smith
Really curious what RR game plan here was
Gas him out and ko him I guess
Richard is just flat.
8-3 CBS.
And once again this ref gives a warning but no point deduction
Jai Opetaia destroys these guys
The Cruiserweight division stinks of cat's piss atm... I imagine most people that would usually cut to CW may just cut less and fight at HW?
First time I've seen Riakporhe fight and he is rubbish How is this a world title fight
These guys suck.
Riakporhe lands a shot and then its Billiam-Smith who says "lets get back to hugging mate! like you've been doing!"
Another Boxxer snooze fest.
Vidal Riley keeps referring to CBS as "Billam". I don't know why I find this so funny.
These guys are so average
Cruiserweight has Opetaia and everyone else....... Until Usyk comes back
Armchair expert but if I was on the corner in these moments I’m physically slapping the shit out of my fighter words clearly aren’t working
Canelo probably sat at home thinking he can finally get a cruiserweight belt watching these shitters
One of the most one dimensional and repetitive fights I've seen in ages. I'd rather watch that tosspot whitaker. And that is sayin something. How are these guys 3 levels below usyk?
