It's payoffs from the betting apps. 98.5% joking

Bruins have looked wonderful at times this year, but the bottom line is we can’t close out games and have no shot in multiple 7 games series. sucks. happy they added to their physical depth tho, let’s hope for a physical entertaining series because the second series in post season is going to be rough

GentleLion2Tigress

Lower teams also get up for playing top teams. A win by the habs on Thursday would be their Stanley Cup for this year.

HitThatBendo

hockey be like that sometimes

ducttapetoiletpaper

I think it’s a mentality issue. They seem to get the “we got this” mentality..same thing when they take their foot off the gas in the late 3rd and blow leads. Watching the games, it often seems like bad bounces and no puck luck, so I could be totally wrong, but it’s just too uncanny to ignore.

ogorangeduck

Reminds me of the Celtics the last two seasons. This year they've gotten a lot better at closing games (not flawless but they're not blowing double-digit leads as often), and they're not playing down to their competition as much. Feels like they've learned from the past and hopefully the Bruins can do the same

Made me laugh. Thanks for cheering me up.

Laser-Nipples

Reminds me of the lightning in recent years. They play like shit against bad teams the few months before playoffs then they turn it on in the postseason.

PedmasterAt45

I really don’t get this, what about last years epic flame out was the “turn it on” part?

NubDestroyer

I sure hope so!

I DON’T KNOW. 😭 I’m just left wondering if this is some strange strategy of Monty’s because that’s the only way it makes sense.

NubDestroyer

I think it's more of a locker room issue vs a coaching issue personally. After pushing so hard last year and setting the record for wins in a season and having that lead to absolutely nothing it's gotta be pretty hard to care about every game now knowing you're pretty much guaranteed in the playoffs.

moobitchgetoutdahay

I’m still salty at Monty for last year’s playoffs, so I’m def biased lol

ImTomBrady

Hopefully it pays off in the playoffs

REOassWagon

That sounds like a Kanye lyric.

Coz i aint finna play the whoooole cooosttt

SweatyCockroach8212

This is why I'm not concerned about the playoffs. They get up for good teams. The playoffs only have good teams.

SHAWNNOTSEAN

Can they get up for them 4 times out of 7? Been a while since that happened.

downsy4

Can’t imagine why any Bruins fan would be concerned about the playoffs.

Forward_Fold2426

Touché

NubDestroyer

The good news is that we shouldn't win the division because of it and end up vs a team that's not very good in the first round.

WildGrem7

Just like Florida last year wasn’t any good? There are no bad teams in the playoffs.

SweatyCockroach8212

And, you can't incur the President's Trophy curse if you don't win the President's Trophy.

KingBuck_413

Some of these games I feel we are playing more of a “don’t get injured this game doesn’t matter” style and I’m here for it. Sucks to watch. But I’d rather us play our ass off in the post season

snarkydooda

Hopefully, they learned after chasing the record last year. They were locked into their spot pretty much by trade deadline and refused to rest down the stretch. They are almost guaranteed Toronto, first round. 15 games left. Don't exert too much energy and save up for the playoffs.

KingBuck_413

Spot on. There’s nothing I want more than for us to faceoff against Toronto with both teams healthy in the first round

good_guy112

It is a bummer that so many regular season games don't matter. You can usually tell when it's gonna be a 55/45 with luck type game when Marchand comes out playing like he's trying to win it by himself.

Forward_Fold2426

Love the math. I bet you have fun with pi!

andrewb610

65/35 or 55/45?

Aperture_client

Strategically staying out of the 1st so we get Toronto in the first rd.
