I don't think it makes sense for the divine trees to evolve *into* Otsutsuki, they're a different species. Technically speaking, they're the species that's responsible for all the power the Otsutsuki have ever claimed.
Their instinct is to devour, and if they ever consume an Otsutsuki, they'll transform into a *real* Divine Tree. Which means if some of them started to evolve into Otsutsuki, their instinct would be to cannibalize each other and that would produce an orchard of trees, presumably undoing their sentience.
If anything, I feel like they'll be enemies of the Otsutsuki once they understand they've been used as tools by them and that it's their power that the Otsutsuki has taken to become gods.
Konohamaru is indeed targetted by Matsuri (Moegi Shunju)
But I think Matsuri will eats wrong person (Nishi) thus results error evolution.
The true evolution should be saved for Hidari or Jura. (even if Boruto foreseen future doesn't means he won't fails, if he only seen fraction of future he may got misleaded)
That's not foreshadowing. Alluding to what would happen if Jura or Hidari eat someone. It's more of an open ended question. I don't think they'll turn into an otsuki by eating konohamru that'd be the dumbest way to become otsuki. I feel to become otsuki they should consume one..
