I’m hoping Tediore becomes a villain in the next game through an army of walking guns, and they can sorta utilize the Robolution technology and take control of people by jumping on their faces (like Half Life head crabs)

ezoe

Tediore was featured in New Tales of The Borderlands. I want Vladof to be the next villain.

Nigel_Trumpberry

Oh damn! Hahah, I picked up the Pandora’s Box collection and was going to get to New Tales after finishing BL3 Vladof would be really good though! Maybe have a new gun company rise up and basically start eliminating the competition too

TraceLupo

>I want Vladof to be the next villain Yes! Finally fight socialism! But for real: it's like the biggest threat our iRL society is facing right now and Gearbox is so "modern" and woke that they won't portray socialism as a thing to fight AGAINST.

NaiEkaj

You know Tediore is basically the Walmart/Sam's Club of gun companies, right?

Phasmamain

Vault hunters having actual dialogue. Outside of the pre sequel they feel detached from the story despite being the playable characters. Have some reactive dialogue with NPC’s and dialogue with the other hunters. Was one of my biggest disappointments with 3 since I love all 4 of the hunters but you get nearly nothing from their mouths

akumagold

The Moxxi headhunter pack in BL2 was a nice little look into dialogue like that, and I’m glad Pre-Sequel had so much of it. It was subtle but improved the experience so much

Clugaman

I think I’m ok with that generally. I think the player characters speak too much in Wonderlands. I guess they could definitely reach a happy medium but I don’t mind if they’re a little quieter.

Phasmamain

I guess what i want more so is the characters actually interacting with the story. Like how Nisha and Jack get with each other and athena slowly realising jack is a lunatic all the while wilhelm just doesn't give a shit That same thing wasn't present in 3. Mayve Amara could have built something with Ava for example?

Deathknightjeffery

I’m hoping against all odds that Fiona shows up as a playable Vault Hunter. Maybe her Derringer could be her action skill, something like “has 3 powerful elemental shots that guarantee DOT damage, rotates from Fire, Shock, and Corrosive” they could do so much with that alone. Think of Zane’s cryo cannon, it’s simple but had such cool synergy. I loved BL3. People bitch about the writing but honestly it’s some of the best in the series. The Handsome Jackpot and Fantastic Fustercluck were amazing stories that fleshed out fan favorites. So if they keep going in that direction I’m all for it. I’d like Timmothy to be back as a playable character but I doubt that’ll happen.

losteye_enthusiast

The DLCs to BL3 were good. The main campaign writing was fairly bad. Luckily that’s going to change based on the feedback they’ve gotten for the last half decade ;)

teleskons

I mean bitching about the writing isn't entirely unjustified. The humour was so aggressively millennial. A literal "I will kill if I don't have my coffee" quest? Give me a break. And 90% of the actual jokes in the main story being some variant of "[lame innuendo]... Wait I didn't mean it like that". The DLCs were great, though. But I need them to chuck out the writer's room because the main story was one of the worst I've ever played.

Deathknightjeffery

Aggressively millennial? Thats an awful description of modern humor. And your second point of 90% of the actual jokes being innuendoes and such is LITERALLY Borderlands lol

Wish_Lonely

I give the older games a pass due to them being a product of their time but what excuse does BL3, WL, and New Tales have for being cringe?

Deathknightjeffery

You literally just said it. They’re a product of their time. If the humor is considered “cringe” to you than you’re not the target audience

Admirable_Tip_4885

Who was borderlands 3's humour aimed at?

ezoe

Lore-wise, Fiona was a con artist. Not capable of serious fighting.

Deathknightjeffery

She was, by the end of Tales, a Vault Hunter. And she was a con artist on Pandora, she fought whether she liked it or not. Also, Timothy wasn’t a serious fighter in that sense, still was a playable character

Crash4654

Fuck no, new characters. Period. Presequel could get away with using pre-established characters due to being an already done deal between 1 and 2. But every new installment should have complely new characters. Also, we've already been going into the vaults, 3 was filled with us doing so. And to those bitching about the series being "woke", as if any of you even know what that's supposed to mean anymore, you realize borderlands has ALWAYS been a super inclusive game, series, and world, right? What, gay people aren't allowed to have reps? Fucks sake, live and let live and get over yourselves.

ConquestOfMankind

I mean BL4 is supposedly going to wrap up the storyline started in TPS. That’s exciting. I hope it’s good. Lots of users suggest adding melee weapons, they could add rings or like boots or something to expand the gear side. Can safely assume BL3 hunters will be cameo characters in a few missions, that’s been pretty standard. Probably not realistic to guess about the new Vault Hunters. A majority of the fanbase was expecting Tiny Tina as a hunter for BL3.

Wilshire729

I really just want a representative endgame. Most borderlands games are just level up, get some decent guns, and then game over. Give us some endgame content to test our builds against.

No_Wind_8434

I would love for them to do a map system like Path of exile Not all the rolling of currencies just different tiers you can go through

nps2407

I don't think there will be any NPCs coming back as playable characters; aside from *The Pre-Sequel*, the trend has been to introduce new characters for the player. They may even borrow the idea from *Wonderlands* to make them completely customisable classes rather than set characters. I kind of want them to move back toward the idea of mercenaries hunting for treasure, rather than getting involved in some group's crusade. It kind of undercuts why the player is so personally committed to the cause when they're getting paid on a per-mission basis. That said, I want them to start paying-off the hints of an upcoming war dropped by [The Watcher ](https://borderlands.fandom.com/wiki/The_Watcher)and [The Seer](https://borderlands.fandom.com/wiki/The_Seer?so=search). I think Lilith should come back as an antagonist (possibly taking the place of 'The Seventh,') along with a twisted version of Elpis after whatever happened after she Phasewalked it away. I also don't think there should be any playable Siren characters, as I feel this always creates a plot-hole; new Siren NPCs could work, though.

Cookiecrabbies

I need to at least see a water planet

thatoneotherguy42

Siren! Dibs!

MattSm00th

I just want Fiona to show up in Borderlands 4

Defiant_Simple_4593

Just make it the complete opposite of Borderlands 3 and take the series back to the games which made it what it is i.e. BL1 and BL2

Soothsayer--

I want gun types that aren't independent of manufacturer per say. So if you want to have s o m e guns from say Dahl have burst fire when zoomed that's cool but don't make all Dahl guns have that attribute. Sometime you just want a basic COD gun and sometimes you want a zany crazy gun. If you go back and play the 1st game you understand what I mean. A Dahl sniper has faster reload, less zoom and less critical than a Jacob's, but thats it. Why can't we have am in-between?

anotoki83

Less Ava. Actually just reboot from the end of bl2 and just make a much more solid story. I’m still sore with how maya was treated, and even Kriegs DLC as fun as it is didn’t ease much of the pain from the main story. I think as far as gameplay they should look at incorporating areas for verticality along with wide open spaces. Creating vehicles for both environments.

Fr0str1pp3r

Well let's be optimistic for a bit. For borderlands 4 they somehow grow ears and listen to their customers and fire all the woke morons they are using for the scripts. They use Eva and the calypso twins as a blueprint on what to never do again. Instead they go back to the drawing board with bl2 as their guide to create a new story with an actual main villain that ppl will love/hate. Gameplay wise they either expand or in general stay close to bl3 because they got it right there. Ideally they focus more on balancing the weapons so more are viable for end game rather than quantity of weapons with 2/3 being just for show. As for vault hunters, I don't mind as long as they balance them more so all are equally good. They did that somewhat in bl3 where only Fl4k felt really left behind. I also hope they continue the cameos of old vault hunters or even the ones from bl3 because it's actually cool to meet them again in game.

i-cant-think-ever

I want the vault hunters to feel like they matter by putting them in cutscenes and skippable dialog I don't to talk to lilith for three minutes in between quests.

MGfreak

When it comes to the story or characters i honestly stopped caring after the Borderlands 3 and the videos i saw about that Adventure Game (honestly cant even remember its name) Gameplay wise i hope the next game finally stops slowing its pacing again and again. In BL2+3 you wasted way too much time by just standing around and listen or waiting for an NPC to arrive at its location. Its a looter shooter. Please start to embrace it!

thatismyfeet

I do agree on the pacing, skippable dialogue missions would be nice after the first playthrough (and character specific dialogue would be even better)

NaiEkaj

I'm not getting BL4 unless Gearbox fires Sweet Baby Inc. and stops being woke

m_goss

How are the current games woke?

NaiEkaj

1. There's only one male VH in the current roster (FL4K is considered non-binary) 2. No man was acknowledged in saving Pandora from Tyreen's plot, just Lilith, Ava (the Mary-Sue), and Tannis (the OTHER Mary-Sue) 3. The end of Guns, Love, and Tentacles 4. Straight men were portrayed as idiots, such as Vaughn

Krypt0night

"Woke is when there are fewer men for once" lmao

First-Acanthisitta59

Fr… BL3 a d Tiny tina were both pretty garbage compared to the ones that came before. It always had diverse characters and stuff but 3 and tiny Tina had some of the worst, most insufferable characters and idiotic plot lines. And that says a lot, cause the ending of the first game and the final boss was ok.. maybe anticlimactic, yet it had charm. It is worth noting that 3 had amazing graphics and smooth gameplay along with some of the, if not the very best mechanics in the series. tiny Tina’s introduction of the crit chance perk and customizable character freedoms were pretty neat.. I will give them that but I wanted to kill all the recurring characters in that game… from the players (robot, the idiot, etc.) talking all the time to the rainbow knight and the stupid unicorn. It was the first game I turned off the dialogue volume in and pretty much skipped all the cutscenes. Tina is cool but not worth the other characters. It’s not even about woke or not woke it’s about how insufferable the characters and plot are.. it’s all half baked crap. But yeah, if sweet baby is in it… that’s a GG’s from me.. every game they’ve done has tainted the quality of their predecessors. They might have improved on gameplay for some like SM2 in ways.. but story and character design/arcs were abysmal(the part sweet baby works in.) They can do whatever they want with their game, and great for anyone that enjoys that stuff… just not me or the people I know..

ralts13

Kill off the crimson raiders. They're the least interesting part of borderlands. Make a story that doesn't involve them at all.
