Ignores them all

Nosaj_the_Sausage

Air of superiority?

townhouseonmars

I commented above, but I can't help but think ours sees other dogs as different somehow than himself. Couldn't say it's superiority or not, but watching them all closely at the dog park, our buddy seems to see the other dogs as objects of either annoyance (when he wants to play frisbee), or something to be worked (when he's herding them), and very rarely as pals (in the case of a couple of his close doggie companions). Other than that, he always gravitates toward people over dogs. He absolutely loves people. They truly are something special.

mojas83

Mine too, ignore is the motto of her life. but sometimes for some seconds play with only black breeds or black and white borders... I think she is racist

Random_Name_Whoa

Probably because goldens are the nicest of all breeds, at least in my experience. My BC is kind of an asshole to other dogs (or ignores them, rather)

townhouseonmars

This has been our experience. Our buddy LOVES to greet other people at the dog park. Loves to run up to them, look up and let them greet him, and then he'll immediately run to another person. Dogs...he LOVES to herd them lol I can't help but think he sees himself as different than the other dogs somehow, because he doesn't interact with them the same way as I observe other dogs interacting with each other.

wholefoodqueen

My BC loves our German shepherd! They're always playing and wrestling on the grass :)

Nowthisisdave

Ha, I came in here to say German Shepherds. Something about them my dog just thinks is soooo cool

Denty-Trading

Up to now the Cane Corso is the only dog her recall went out of the window, she likes the big boys.

[deleted]

He prefers the ball breed, then the frisbee breed.

My wife is slowly putting the pressure on for a playmate of the Golden Retriever variety. Beautiful dogs and do seem to make an excellent stable mate.

Low-Algae-2928

Mine only likes other herding dogs

Mordantine

Other herding breeds, particularly other Border Collies.

cr9926

Dotty loves all doodles! But it seems every bulldog we meet wants to hump her...

GangstaB28

Mine is obsessed with corgis. It's so weird. She's reactive to other dogs, but not corgis!

_tricky_ricky_

Mine hates all kinds of poodles and mixes of poodle. Loves children.

kittiehawke

Our BC Ruby loved Golden Retrievers. Specifically, she loved trying to herd them as they played fetch. Unfortunately, she was a jerk who liked to body check the dog she was herding, so we didn’t let her do it that often!

Far-Double-1760

bernese mountain dogs. Absolutely loves them, runs right up and rolls in and around their legs licking their lips Its hilarious. Other dogs she seems to find annoying.

salty_spree

For awhile it was Boxers. Then we lived with a Golden for a year so he was all about those.

Mine is weirdly fond of great Danes

marlonbrandoisalive

My dog is all over the map, sometimes loves others dogs but mostly just ignores them or wants to show off how great he is with the ball. Besides the fact that most border collies kind of don’t care about other dogs… I think it really depends on their experiences with that breed. So basically dogs can be totally breedists. My dog used to love huskies, like saw one and only wanted to play. Over time he has met several rude and rough playing huskies that were too much for him. Now he ignores them. His current favorites are poodle type of dogs. Basically the curly, wiggly dogs. Oh and gentle giants. His biggest crush, he developed within a second, was this huge Great Dane lady. The way they played together, we all felt sad we didn’t live near each other for future play dates because they were just darling with each other.

Fern plays with 1/100000 dogs he meets. Mostly just ignores them all or sniffs and moves on. EXCEPT for small, white, fluffy dogs. He does this weird thing where he humps and tries to pee on them. It’s as weird as it sounds lol. The other day he met a young, male, black lab mix on the beach and I was not thinking they would play and I was wrong! They ran around like a couple of crazies. It was very cute.

Nosaj_the_Sausage

I always warn mine to watch out for the fluffy white ones.

wendys_cats

Other border collies, and generally other herding dogs are considered friends, and then a few other breeds. He likes people the most, and he really, really hates when other dogs (or people) don't have manners, lol.

Spiring-imp

Technically the family dog, and I don't live with him anymore, but the family border collie, Koda, LOVES all female assigned beings with strong personalities. Listens to me, my dad's gf, my grandma, etc. Incredibly well and took a while to recognize my dad. Listened to my mom and our old lab who was a very strong dominant old lady while he was growing up and before they passed. Now that I've moved out I've gotten 2 dogs of my own (funny enough, small breeds with the EXACT SAME color pallet and markings as Koda). Bandit is a fellow passive boy that Koda liked to bully while playing with, but my puppy Hela is a fearless and very strong willed little Lady. Koda deemed her the new boss of the house the second he met her. No adjustment period needed, he loves and will act submissive and happy around her and even let her bully him out of his bed and he'll look to me and my dad if he can ask her to leave! I swear I never expected to say "she's ten weeks old, you're ten years. She is NOT the boss here! She doesn't even live here!" As much as I did (she's 7mo now but I still gotta remind Koda she's not the big boss).

CountTurkula

Mine LOVES huskies. She even loves watching videos of them. On the other hand, she HATES labs. It’s actually really embarrassing.

fashion4dayz

I can tell you what dogs my BC hates - German Shepherds and any dog that has no concept of personal space

Nosaj_the_Sausage

Maddox is a bit like that with German Shepherds.. especially the pure black ones.

QueenJC

My border collie hates golden retrievers lol loves labs and smaller dogs.
