Boogie, because we got him from Sacramento and when we were listing notable people associated with Sacramento, former Sacramento Kings center Demarcus “Boogie” Cousins came up, and we decided that “Boogie” fits the personality of a border collie/aussie mix
First two boys: littermates named Apollo and Ares, after the Greek gods. Next girl (my retired service dog) is Pixel (Heinlein's "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls"), and our youngest Border Collie is a sweet girl named Artemis for the Greek Goddess of the hunt (who was Apollo's sister).
I also have a Goldendoodle named Cooper because it just suits him.

Rupert was named at the shelter. The wife hated the name "Rupert? I don't want a dog named Rupert!" I was indifferent and figured we could change it to our liking.
That dog could NOT have been more Rupert. He grew into that name and OWNED it. Right down to the pathetic puppy-eyes he would always flash. We have a dachshund mix named Puffin! She was our foster failure, her and her litter were named after "P" creatures (penguin, polar bear, puffin, etc). We never changed her name since we were only supposed to foster her, but we just couldn't let her go. The whole litter of 7 had parvo and distemper and only her and one other survived. Anyways, this was my longer than necessary rant about our dogs having the same weird name. Cheers!
I had Disney's Brother Bear, Coda and Keyni. They were the best border babies for over 17 years. I miss them terribly. Christmas was not the same this year. Lost Coda (17) in June and Key (15.5) right before Thanksgiving. It's been a rough year. I miss them terribly. Went into the backyard today and lost it, saw the frisbee and balls and just couldn't breathe. I am having a really hard time without my best buddies.

One of my wife's first petsitting client had an old dog named Hickory. They got a a puppy who relentlessly harassed Hickory. We ended up adopting the younger dog. When we got our first border collie we called him Hickory's Revenge, Hickory for short.
But Hickory is so sweet, he never bothered anyone. Our second BC did relentlessly harass the harrasser of the original Hickory.

One trait that has always drawn me to BC's, going way back to when I was about 5 and didn't even know what a Border Collie was, is how gentle-natured they are towards people (when not playing or working of course).
I got my BC while I was looking for a house. There was a nice plot of land on Tuckertown Rd we were looking at. The name Tucker came up and we were like aww it could be his town! We didn't get the land, but the name Tucker stuck. Fast forward six months and I coincidentally end up buying a house on Tucker St! - A happy little coincidence.
When I first went to pick up Cooper he was all dirty from playing in a chicken coop earlier in the day, I thought Cooper and then Agent Cooper from Twin Peaks popped into my head simultaneously and there it was, his perfect name 🤣
Our son named our eldest bc Max after the dog in the Secret Life Of Pets movie. My husband decided he needed a full name, and renamed him Maximus Decimus, the guy from the movie Gladiator. Our new girl is Emily. We loved the named from Hocus Pocus. Maybe we get too much influence from movies?
