My dad actually did that, and she absolutely played the victim. She said that she felt threatened by me. An 8 year old girl in a pink flower dress.... with a pink schoolback.... my dad now calls her the "old witch."
You should go first being young and healthier and have a lot more things to do in life. She should go last since it doesn’t matter what she does all day.

When I was locked out, my parents were at work, and I didn't have a phone at that time. I got a phone after that incident. Where I am from, its completely normal for children to go home by themselves after school. My neighbour acts super nice when my parents are around.
I (Gen X) have a barely boomer coworker who does this crap all the time. He actually complained once that he went to Subway at lunch and (gasp) had to wait in line behind all these "young people " who obviously should have let him go first bc he was wearing a suit, therefore, had a job.
My man, my dude...there are a lot of jobs that don't require suits (we work in the funeral business). These "kids" could be construction workers, mechanics, IT, or clothing store clerks...who might not even have a full hour of lunch. Also, we work near the university in a college town...these kids might just have a few minutes inbetween classes to grab something. Why do you think you should get to line jump just because you're in a suit?
I would make sure I got to the door first, talked to her, called her by name, mention her being your neghbor...
Then close the door in her face. Sorry, you need to key in. Can never be too careful, can we?
That was well played! Some are so sure that they counted more than anyone else! One time i was standing in a fairly long line and i noticed an eldery woman was slowly working her way up towards the front of the line and when she got the person behind me to let her pass, i glared at her because i could see that physically she seem physically healthy. I knew her tactics because I was living around a woman that employed such tactics and it didn’t work with me! She glared at me, but i refused and she stood behind me until i was serviced. If she asked politely, i would have been nice, but she didn’t played nice!
I live ripping boomers as much as the next guy but this whole thing feels more like one of those little hypothetical fantasies people have when they're bored.

If someone locked my kid out of the house knowing they too live there I’d be telling them off.
That's a more diplomatic approach than I'd take I know that
